I had a cb700 nighthawk s 1984 and i always thought the v65 sabre was like it's big brother- although with the v4 not inline4! The sabre could've done with the swingarm being 6 inches longer to even up the proportion of the bike.
Is that the original speedometer? If it is, your Sabre is a 1984, not an '85. The '85s came with the numbers in _5 increments (like 15, 25, 35, 45, etc.). The '84s had numbers in _0 increments (like your speedo). Look at the plate on the left ("drivers") side of the steering stem. The year is on there.
I love these bikes I have an 85 v45 it's pretty sick too I go from 0-100 pretty fast I coudnt imagine a v65 Im looking to buy one but no luck so far these were great bikes!!

@MrJkosta hey man i have a v65 sabre too but mine has a higher topspeed of about 155 i do weigh like 160 but that cant be all we have a very nice bike i did some mods to mine i moved the front forks and put clipons on it and it handles like a champ now i can do 60 in first gear and about 100 in second i think its kinda hard to look down at that speed but it gets there very fast
Had a 84 v65 mag. Was pulling hard at 130. Got scared. No doubt it can easily bury speedo 160+

I've got a 85 V65 Sabre...I'm curious, how much do you weigh and what is the fastest you've had yours up to? I'm 195lbs and my top speed is 130mph...
