I have a napy afro, and I was wondering if I could lot rollers in and I don't leon know if it will work, do I need to put relaxer in? Or just roll the fro? also, if I want to buy rollers do I buy them one by one our do they all come together. It would be awesome if someone could tell me all I need to know, thanks
@beyondaqtip you do not need a relaxer to do a roller set! please dont get a relaxer! you will need end papers, you can buy rollers by the pack and you need a setting lotion or foam like Jane Carters wrap and roll and do small sections. Set your head under a hood/bonnet dryer once your curlers are in so the style will set well
@Holland88 Not at all! Actually, glycerin can be, but it takes some explanation:
Glycerin is a humectant. This means that it captures all surrounding moisture. What this means for our hair is that throughout the day when our hair will normally become dryer, the humectant will capture any surrounding moisture and keep your hair moisturized. If you live in a humid environment (usually during the summer), then glycerin is good!
@Holland88 HOWEVER, if the air is dry (also during the winter time) glycerin can be a bad thing. Because it soaks up all surrounding moisture, if there's no moisture in the environment the glycerin will just take the moisture from your hair, making it dryer than it would be.

Ok, love. Stop putting water on your hair.. It only DRIES it out .Also try carols daughter products. You should only use natural products in your hair.
Personally I do not use Carol's Daughter due to the fact that not all her products are natural and some have harmful additives like formalahyde. I do use natural products Jane Carter, Kinky Curly and more check out my page

I understand, But applying water to african hair.. Does only drie the natural oils out. Our hair unlike others isnt oily by nature. So she needs to apply products that will keep the luster. I personal make my own hair grease so i dont use others, But in regards to shampoos etc.. carols daughter works great on my hair. i also dont perm my hair. :)
have a great day, and remember .. its only youtube.
you dont need all of that all you need is a good set of hands water or moisturiser and setters- do it in small part and make sure its tighly set........ only a hour.....
you talk to much.

There is nothing drying about water, provided that it is pure water.
Most shampoos and certain conditioners are drying, which is where you may have gotten that impression.
Washing out styling products that coat your hair and make it feel soft/silky/healthy will make it seem as if washing your hair is drying.
Shampooing your hair too often IS drying, because it washes your scalp's natural oils.
Carol's Daughter products are not all natural, as lyndaespratley has replied.
Do some research.

what grease or whatever..do u recommend to use on natural hair...to promote more growth?
how long do the curls last..
remynady 4 years ago
you shouldn't use grease on your hair, light natural oils like olive, jojoba, coconut, rosemary are the best no synthetic oils.
hanikas80 3 years ago
i find that oils tend to dry hair the hair...
my hair is so unbelievable DRY...it needs moisture and to be wet constantly..and even that's not enough

Try Mizani H20 hairdress

Great tutorial! Why do you use those wrap papers? What do they help with?
lium3 4 years ago
the wrap papers help protect your ends. The rods i use have little tiny prongs on it that can damage your ends.
