  • Best gig I ever been too - near the front and 3 hours of solid music... He was at his ultimate on that day and 17 years later I still get chills when I remember him singing 'Glory Days'...

  • i'm going to see him in detroit:)

  • I lived about 10 minutes away from Roundhay Park. Got there, saw a large piece of fencing missing. Just walked in. Also saw The Rolling Stones, Madonna and Michael Jackson for free. At the Michael Jackson gig, if you kept your eyes open, the security behind the fence would open certain parts of the fence and then let you in for £10.00. When the fence opened and the security guard opened the fence and let me in he said that'll be a tenner. I just said I had no money on me and he still let me in.

  • this was the first gig i ever went to. amazing experience. second gig i went to was the jesus and mary chain, who played for about 15 mins under a hail of plastic pint pots before walking off. both gigs were formative moments in their own way.

  • @duderino1969 This was my first gig. I was 5 but I remember it. We weren't near the front, but I loved it and couldn't care. Every long hot summer of my life takes me back to this one.

Weid watching the video, everything seems so antiquated and colourless, but in my memory its so sharp and gleaming. Must have been the atmosphere.

  • brings back memories, i was one of the gatecrashers, never heard of him til that day i drove past, wondered what goin on and bust in, tho i mind it was hells angels doing the security..i remember havin to run to second fence dodging them....bought his albums after this tho.

  • Fantastic concert. Changed my life. I have the cd but unfortunately never found any video footage until now.

  • I was there. Amazing show. Three hours but took longer to get out the car park

  • Bob Rust, born to run!

  • RIP Clarence.

  • This was my first Bruce concert..i cannot wait to see him again. The way up was pretty quick, but after the motorway it was a 2 hour crawl to the park. Then we couldn't find the entrance so missed the very start..but so worth it. we were up on the hill and had a great view.I'd love to have this on dvd.

  • The corrugated sheets were held on by roofing bolts, there was a guy on the road selling 13mm spanners for a fiver. I'm proud to say I didn't buy one as I brought one from my car toolkit. Security were trying to put the sheets back up but to no avail. There were more than hundreds got in free, probably a couple of thousand. Very memorable, great gig

  • Best thing since sliced bread, Love it.

  • This was the best concert I have ever been too, the Boss and the band were fantastic !!!

I am sure it lasted till around 10pm because he was enjoying himself so much he didn't want to stop.

Brings back great memories and it was not just the concert but the 6 months build up to it, Leeds was buzzing. Good times.

  • I remember this one, I should have been way up on the hill, but the guys trying to check tickets just gave up and let everyone in. We ended up right near the front, brilliant concert. So hot!!

  • I've been looking for footage of this for years. I too was only 15 at the time. fantastic day out. we gotin for nothing, just climbed over a fence at the top of hill 60.

Only had a short walk home as well. I lived in Harehills at the time. Been to some great concerts at the park. The Stones, Genesis, simple Minds, Maddonna, U2, Jacko, Even robbie williams. Brilliantly formes peice of land to hold these big gigs.

  • i was at this concert...i was up a tree on the left facing the stage...i was up there by myself shaking the tree when brucie came running down the right of the stage to the end of the run off and shouted "hey you guys be careful up there" i went berserk i shook that tree sooo hard looked to my right and saw 111.000 people looking at me..........i will never forget that wonderful day of my life ....i was 20 yeeeee haaaaaa....

  • the best day of my life !! the M1 between Sheffield and Ledds was a car park and it was sooooo hot, my first Bruce concert but wasn't the last :-))

  • I was one of the "hundreds" who sneaked over the fence. There were thousands of people just walking in by the finish, no need for a ticket at all. We were stuck on the road between Leeds and Wetherby for hours on the way back up to Durham. The trafiic ground to a complete standstill and people were wandering about on the road all night, nothing moved. If my memory serves me right this was the same day that Boris Becker beat Kevin Curran to win his first Wimbledon singles title.

  • This was the best concert I have ever been to. Was 15 at the time and still a die hard Brucie fan 25 years later!! Was way back on the hill but still had the most fantastic time!! Would love to have a DVD of the whole concert

  • my 1st of 20 Bruce concerts,superb!

  • I went to this concert with my future husband and friends and I had also just seen Bruce at Wembly on July 4. He was simply magic and I will never forget it.

  • thats for posting this , it was a great concert and has brought back great memories of my first time seeing The Boss

  • Well done for putting is up, a great memory.

I was there with my sister and girlfriend and it was unforgettable. I remember tickets being resold outside the gates and there must have been thousands more people inside than there should have been. We were on a path miles back alonside the hill, but what a day.

  • wow!! i was there and watching this has made my day. the greatest live performer of our times...still have ticket, t shirt and programme. great times.
