  • Who was Masked Superstar

  • @styx4ever1963 his real name is Bill Eadie he was Demolition Ax on wrestling.

  • Andre sure knew how to take a beating and sell for his opponent when he was a mobile babyface during the early 80s. I thought he did a nice job of selling that cobra clutch. Andre was such an underrated worker in the early 80s before his mobility problems started getting the best of him.

  • 5:54 andre was just flopping like a down elephant

  • Wwe wretling back then was not as fast as it is now and bigshow is our andre the giant

  • It's Jake Bullitt in a mask!!!

  • This is Bill Eadie AKA Ax from Demolition.

  • KingOfQueenz84, Thank you

  • Anybody wanna peanut?!

  • The Masked Superstar a.k.a. Demolition Ax

  • Imagine if Andre worked out instead of all of the drinking?

  • The Masked Superstar was AX from Demolition. He was one of the first wrestlers ever to slam Andre.

  • i believe the official size of andre in this match. superstar is at least 280 and he looks like a toy.

  • Comment removed

  • lol superstar could have some torn stomach muscles

  • You can see why he was one of the greatest when he gets out of the hold by trying to take his mask off, genius level ring psychology

  • How can you hack on The Great Legend Gorilla Monsoon? He was just commentating, doing his job. I know the WWF had it flaws with not recognizing others from other regions, but that is not Gorilla's fault.

  • this is Andre when he coulsd still get around some.

  • why would anybody thumbs down such old school awesomeness?!

  • I would love to have these MSG matches from 1980-1985 on DVD. These matches were in the Garden on Monday nights on the MSG channel. Andre, Backlund, Graham, Valentine, Snuka, Koloff, Studd, Orton, Morales, Muraco, Johnson, Atlas, Martel, the Wild Samoans...the list goes on and on and on...

  • The Masked Superstar is Demolishion Axe. Good old days of wrestling.

  • i wonder how much andre could lift

  • There have been heavier wrestlers than Andre, and there have been taller wrestlers than Andre.

He still remains the most impressive giant in wrestling history.

  • Who's been heavier? Gang? Yokozuna?

  • @terminat1

Haystacks Calhoun and Happy Humphrey, at 600 and 700 pounds respectively.

  • Andre was very good in his prime but I actually still think the Big Show to his credit is capable of putting on a very good match.

Giant Gonzalez, Khali, etc. can't wrestle.

By the way Andre's last match was in 1992 in Japan. If you YouTube it it was a 6man Tag vs. Giant Baba. It's very hard to watch, he was in horrible shape.

  • Andre was the best of all 7 foot + big men in his prime he was great.

  • André the Giant vs Big show, that should be an Cool match! :D

  • pretty good graphics

  • ultimate match.....big show vs andre vs khali vs giant gonzalas

  • I remember when Andre first came into wrestling as Giant Jean Ferre. He was brought under the wing of Edouard Carpentier in the Montreal, Quebec wrestling circuit.

  • I just read that Andre was very ill when he went into Wrestlemania 3. He had been through back surgery and was in constant pain. No wonder he was moving so slowly. So sad!

He had even quit wrestling by 1987 and Vince McMahon persuaded him to come back for one last match.

  • No, Andre wrestled until 1990.

  • Wasnt it past 90?

  • The reason Andre & Heenan rode to the ring was because Andre would have had a helluva time walking all theway across the Silverdome floor. He should not havebeen in the ring.

  • Good stuff!!!

  • Andre and The Superstar did this same match move for move here in Dayton at Hara Arena a month before

  • That was a great match. Pretty much anything with Andre was entertaining. Otther commenters here said that Masked Superstar was Ax from Demolition. If that is true, I finally have an answer to something I have been wondering about since the 80s.

  • Yes he was

  • @mikeferr107 It's true.

    Masked Superstar is Bill Eadie

  • who is the mask superstar ? he had his mask taked off but alway hid his face pretty good running back to the dressing room.

  • i believe he was the undertaker

  • Imposible.... 3 things dont add up first his got tattos all over his hands second his not strong like that his muscles are more riped in the chest area these guys are normal.. and third his bigger

  • dunno that what they say undertaker debuted in 1977 as a jobber he wasnt that famous before but im not sure....

  • I'm pretty sure Undertaker didn't debut until around the late 80s are texas red or big red or something.

  • 1987

  • I can't believe somebody was stupid enough to even suggest. The dates are all wrong, the build is all wrong....LOL!!

If I recall, some people do think that Masked superstar latered wrestled WITH Andre as one of the "machines' and then became Ax of Demolition!

  • And I think it 's true by the way. His body language and moves are identical.

  • masked superstar was ax from the tag team demolition..

  • andre looks good not like wm 3 andre

  • At 1:22 did Gorilla say to Masked Superstar "Welcome to Professional Wrestling"? This was what turned me away from WWF was how they made like any newcomer to the WWF was a rookie and that there was no other wrestling anywhere alse. MS was already a veteran in the ring at this point!

  • @hawkeystud that was just a gorilla saying back then

  • @hawkeystud For me, it was that and the fact that Vince K. brought about a virtual end to the territorial days.

  • @hawkeystud Just something GM said--by this point The Masked Superstar had been around and was actually past his bet days in the gimmik inthe WWF.

  • @hawkeystud I know lol... I remember at one of the Royal Rumbles Monsoon call Carlos Colon a "youngster". Carlos had been wrestling at that point for 20 years or so.

  • @hawkeystud really dude.....thats freakin andre the giant hes wrestling, not some kid that goes to your school, or that you heard about on the corner

  • @hawkeystud Yeah I hated Monsoon for that. He was a real company shill, fucking fat dead asshole.

  • @gonzomoya420 You seriously need to watch the History of Wrestlemania before you spew such pretentious bullshit. The ready Position in Every Wrestling company is called the GORILLA position for a reason.

  • @XJadynX If you knew anything about the WWWF, you would know that the entire thing went downhill(from an old school fan's perspective) from the first Wrestlemania!

  • Well said. Superstar was famous way before this match and was champion in other areas! Ask Gordon Solie RIP

  • @hawkeystud

It's called a jobber... much like Iron Mike Sharp.. they are suppose to lose.

  • @hawkeystud Hold your horses. On WWF Wrestling at the Chase a month prior to this, they referred to Masked Superstar as a seasoned veteran.

  • andre used to be a super heavyweight power lifter. To really believe that Hulk could be stronger is hilarious. this man has always been immensly strong and his true size was 7'4" and 491 pounds. I know wrestling sucks but I always liked Andre, big hearted giant. some of these wrestlers get bigger by the announcers. A mans career starts out as 6'4" and 320 pounds( not Andred) and 5 years later he is 7'1" and 500 pounds. Andres weight went up according to him but his height stayed true.

  • I did not know that Andre ever trained with weights. Monsoon was a great wrestler, a great commentator;

He could also be a stooge and a jerk vis a vis the Masked Superstar who was already an international "Superstar" before he hit the WWF. If you want to hear Slim Jim Monsoon at his worst, hear any of the matches of Bull Nakano vs. Malundra Blayze--he does not like the fact the Bull is fat; he probably likes it less she is a better wrestler than Maldusa.

  • 2:47 It's Hugo from Street Fighter III !

  • I never bothered to look it up until tonight - I didn't realize the real identities of the first Demolition was Masked Superstar who was Ax, and Moondog Rex, who was Smash.

  • Eh, I don't know about that.

  • Randy Colley (Moondog Rex) was Demolition Smash for a very short time (couple of weeks) before being replaced by Barry Darsow, the man everyone knew as Smash. Prior to Demolition, Darsow was Krusher Kruschev, teaming up with Ivan and Nikita Koloff and Ax was of course the Masked Superstar.

  • Masked Superstar and Super Machine and Demolition Ax were all Bill Eadie.

  • owned

  • Andre must have liked bill eadie, to let him work him over like that. Hell they teamed together as the machines and fought alot when eadie was in demolition.

  • In fact, Andre was godfather to Eadie's daughter. They were good friends.

  • who was it

  • dude bill eadie is a big dude

  • I kind of wonder if the part after the match was planned....seems like superstar got a lot of energy in a hurry after the match. He hurried to get out of the ring and Andre went after the mask.

  • who is the The Masked Superstar????

  • A man by the name of Bill Eadie... he was also the character known as AX in Demolition!!!

  • fake rofl fight like little kids

  • Who would of liked to see Andre the Giant vs The Undertaker RIP Andre

  • The two most unstoppable forces ever in wrestling. The two strongest and legit tough guys ever in wrestling. Dream match if you ask me.

  • you ever hear of bruno sammartino?

  • Yes sir, what about?

  • you talk about strenght, bruno benched press nearly 600lbs over40 years ago, steroid free!.

  • yeah, but they most likely faced each other many times. Taker and Andre have never wrestled each other. It's a shame we didn't get to see it.

  • Bruno was probably the greatest wrestler ever. He was a real powerhouse. I saw him when he was weighing around 285 pounds. That man was huge.

  • absolutely tony! bruno was built like a silverback gorilla! huge chest, massive neck, and the hands the size of sledgehammers. check out the youtube video of bruno vs giant baba in japan from 1967. unbelievable the size of bruno, and steroid free!.

  • Man, this was one funny match uperstar was not a small guy by any means, but the antics when Andre stepped over him and on his fingers was something LOL.

  • Superstar wasn't there long. He was interviewed by the Mid-Atlantic Gateway and admitted to only going to NY because Andre asked him to. Eadie said in his interview that he really disliked working in New York, esp. his first run there.

Superstar voluntarily unmasked in several cities in the Mid-Atlantic area following matches against Ray Stevens and Jimmy Snuka (Paul Jones was his partner), but never lost his mask as a result of a match result.

  • fancy being 7ft 4in 530lbs,who guna mess wi ya.andre da beast giant not to be messed wi back then.r.i.p

  • Demolition's Ax against the Giant.

  • Jeff Hardy is boring to me , and he doesn't even looks like a wrestler. I liked that type of wrestling, and I miss it. You want to see good wrestling , see mexican wrestling.

  • persnaly i think mexican wrestling is boreing, and I like jeff hardy. But not my fav I like ppl like randy orten the best.

  • You obviously know nothing about wrestling and probably only started watching it 3-4 years ago. Jeff Hardy sucks! He is a sloppy-as-hell worker,& sells poorly. He can't do anything but jump off stuff. He does not even look like a wrestler. WWE made a huge mistake putting the belt on him.

  • they would boo the skinny junkie out of the arena

  • this shits so fake lol but its funny to watch

  • @xXBiiZaR IT ISN'T FAKE WHEN ANDRE STANDS O N HIM THAT HURTS IT'S NOT FAKE!

  • OMG!look at 2:56 ! his hands!

he probably wasnt as tall as 7foot 5, but he definetly was 500lbs and over 6 foot 11 or about 7 feet tall.

    thx for upload nice video

  • If people keep using threatning comments like "Your going to die in 3 hours or 30 mins" Ok how about this for you then.... If you keep using them your youtube account will be deleted, and you will suffer the consequences in hell!

  • fuck ''jimmy tooth'', i will knock his only tooth out. then he will be known as ''jimmy toothless''!.

  • Hm - an early "Million Dollar Dream".

Nice one. I never knew that Bill Eadie was both Ax of Demolition and the Masked Superstar until I was an adult.

  • Also Known as the Cobra Clutch

  • announcers today just don't do the same homework as the old school guys..Gorilla's dropping all kinds of info, Ring size, shoe size, japanese transportation problems for anyone over 5-6 lol

  • Back in the day Superstar was my hero

  • yup..same here

  • Oh yeah! he and Super Destroyer (Scott Irwin) were fabulous as a team..but Superstar was always THE man

  • Super D, he was good..but you're right Superstar was the man...

  • andre was fucked at minute 3:29

  • André vs Ax

  • Giant Machine vs Super Machine

  • how much did andre weigh and how tall was he?

  • andre the giant was 7 ft 5 inches and weight was 528 pounds = 37.5 stone

  • wasent andre 500 pounds

  • In reality Andre was about 6 ft 10 and about 480 pounds

  • Awesome to see Bill Eadie as The Masked Superstar. As well as Andre The Giant. Classic! As far as Demolition being a copy of the Road Warriors if you remember right Demolition held the tag titles for about 9 months and not to disrecpect the Road Warriors but they didn`t do as much for the WWF/WWE as Demolition did.

  • r.i.p. the real best big man in the wwf

  • RIP ANDRE

  • Masked Superstar was always Bill's best gimmick; however, he himself would tell you that a masked man would never be made world champion. How many masked men do you see in the WWE or TNA now?? A lot of what goes on the ring relies on facial expressions. As far as the Demolition being copies of the Road Warriors - perhaps. I think Eadie and Darsow proved themselves and they still team up today. One thing is for sure - at least they had their sh*t together - no drugs or alcohol problems.

  • andre is good in this match aganist the masked man.

  • dummolition was a fake, substitute, road warriors. vince could'nt sign hawk & animal so he had to get his own"road warriors". it's like comic companies. every comic company has a"superman" and a"wolverine",based off the originals. that's what dummolition was. check the masked superstar's history in georgia,mid-atlantic,and other territories, his title record speaks for itself. as the masked superstar he had what it took to be a world champion(singles),it was just a matter of time.

  • yeah maybe but they still became just as big at that time that the road warriors so whats it matter, they worked well and were a damn good team, and hell no he wouldnt have gotten a run with the title with all of the awesome singles wrestlers then they wouldnt give him the title

  • do you have anymore masked superstar matches?he's one of the best bigmen ever and i believe the masked superstar would have worked better for him in the longrun rather than ax or smash or whatever vince turned him into. anyway,if you have anymore masked superstar matches please post.

  • umm no demolition was the best thing that happend to the masked superstar(AX), he actually got a long tag team champ run the longest ever still to this day, if he hadnt had heart problems demolition would have continuted and without crush he only joined because of AX's health problems

  • UMM NO demolition would not have continued because once vince got his hands on the road warriors,it defeated the whole purpose of having demolition in the 1st place. do you think if vince had signed the warriors in 86 or 87 that demolition would have even come into existence? of course not! and as you see when lod came in,dummolition went out.superstar could have been the picture of health and dummolition would have still been gone. when u get ur hands on a real woman,u don't need a rubber doll.

  • what the hell does this have to do with women, and coming from a guy thats 36 and cartoons all over his profile

  • what does it have to do with women? if you're that dumb i'll break it down 4 u. DUMMOLITION is a fake version of the ROAD WARRIORS. just like a RUBBER WOMAN is a substitute for a REAL one. once you get the real thing, there's no need for the UNreal. and there's NOBODY my age or older that uses youtube to reminisce on stuff from their past,i stand alone on that.

  • I agree Vince couldn't get his hands on the Road Warriors at the time so he created his own but suprisely they were a good team & very popular but when he finally got his hands on the Road Warriors...Demolition was eventually put on the shelf. And yes I do agree that although Masked Superstar (one of my favorite wrestlers ever) was very popular...he gained more fame as Axe of Demolition.

  • Andre was great here

To bad he got almost immobile towards the end

  • And to think, here is the future Super and Giant Machine, hailing from Japan.

  • At 3:25, that was a typical Andre spot.
