Your dog is very cute, but it looks alot like a lab..or atleast nuttin liek my plott hound. Otis is a hunter but he will take after anythign or anybody if they pose a threat..Glad he doesnt have to live on a chain,,i lucked out with him
Mine kicks the shit out of every dog on the hill, two pitts, a lab, a huskey and an american bulldog, none of them will venture in her domain. she runs them out with authority and she does hunt too.
I have one and she is such an awsome dog. mega athletic can jump 6'4 in the air and wooped the hell outa this rotty that came our yrd..she's the best gaurd dog ever...love my lil Holly
They will protect their territory like any other dog but they are NOT bred nor should they be trained as guard dogs. My Plott will guard me, my kids and my house but that is instinctual and has nothing to do with her breeding. We are her pack.
My plott turns on her guard mode when Im home alone or she feels my energy is low. The first time my bf was out of town and it was 3 in the morning. I was sleeping and she heard someone in our backyard she started growlin like Ive never heard b4 and she was out the door in a protected stance. Then, I was home alone terribly sick and some guy was comin up to my door she jumped up in the window by the door all over the place growlin and barkin at him. She is my world :)

Again...your dog is guarding her pack and her territory. The breed is NOT a guard dog by heritage.
