We had 2 Saints; one lived to be 8-1/2. She died of intestinal torsion, or bloat. It was very sudden. The other died just before her 11th BD. They're such wonderful dogs, so calm and gentle. They're also good babysitters.

@1fabrice2joinville Mine is 9 years old, It depends on how good you take care of them. Mine is spoiled but she is the best dog i have ever owned she doesnt get nasty. She doesnt bark unless someone is at our house she is very playful she LOVES to cuddle she sheds a lot though but if you take good care of them they live up to 12 years.

You are incorrect, xxxKHAOSxxx. In general, the bigger the dog, the shorter the lifespan. Unfortunately, Saints usually live 7-8 years. It's the biggest downside to loving one of the giant breeds.

we have two, one is about 2 months from turning 8 and he's doing really well. we had a scare that he wouldn't make it, because his health was dropping drastically, took him to two different vet clinics, at the second one he had 3 vets working on him, and diagnosed him w/ hypothyroidism, now he's been on supplement for about a year, and is doing better than he was 3 years ago. and they tend to live either 8-10 or 9-11 years, depending on where they live, and how well they're taken care of.
