  • @merkkraft4 Did you not read the description? I was letting it shift at around 4,200rpm... It redlines at 5,500, so no, I did not put it to the floor.

  • @merkkraft4 Nope, it redlines at 5,500.  No, descriptions are to help people know what the video is about and what takes place during it. Despcriptions also help to cut down of questions like, "Did you floor it all the way?" when I specifically state that I didn't in the.... You guessed it!! Description. So, to sum this all up, no it wasn't floored, it tachs out at 5,500 and kitty litter and tampons are for pussies, not descriptions. Thanks!

  • @SavagePete83 This guy obviously can't handle the fact that his car has been and always will be worse. First off to even stay remotely close to an IROC you need a turbo. How about we strap a turbo to the IROC and see how much further you wind up behind him. You stress the fact that your car is "better engineered" and no where through the course of the argument have you proved it? The specs show that the IROC was a better car then the Supra, grow a pair and deal with it like a man.

It's stupid of me to argue with someone on the internet, but I felt that I had to stick up for the 'ol IROC since she was always so good to me... I miss that car a ton!!! She could rip off a 15.0 @ 98mph or so in the 1/4, but like I said in the description, I was giving her about 2/3rds go-pedal. Hope you have fun with, and are loving your Firebird!!!

  • ive got a 92 rs with a 350 conversion and its my second third gen camaro and i love these cars. to each his own but if ur into imports stay off camaro videos and watch some fuckin rice burners. Americans should drive american cars, to me its that simple.

  • @dbump88 I've owned a few imports, and they've been great little cars!! I've had a '99 Civic Si, a '95 Impreza L AWD w/ a 1.8 and a 5-speed and a 90 Mazda MX-6 LX with the torquey little 2.2L 12-valve and a 5-speed. They all were fun and efficient, probably because they all were manuals, but that 350TPI really gave the car a soul that the Jap cars I've had didn't have. I'm a big fan of cars in general, but the IROC will always be the one that I miss and remember the most. :D

  • @enigmaPL I looked up the stats on your "better engineered" car. Even when it wasn't gasping to stay running with a blown head gasket and primered black like yours, it still ran a 15.6 @ 90 when it was new. That's a pretty far cry from 14.5 @ 98. Mine pulled .90g on the skidpad where your Supra could only manage .875. Hell, my car even gets better highway mileage, even if it's only by 1mpg. Hmmmm... I'm still trying to figure out where your "better engineered" car is actually better.

And not only did you watch it, but you felt it was necessary to mention how slow it is when it states in the description that I wasn't even pushing it past 4,200. Do you always have to try and bring down those things that are better than yours just so you feel better about them? Talking shit about my Camaro won't make your Supra have paint on it or make it run with my car.

  • Okay, folks... Yes, my car was a L98, which was the 350 T.P.I., not a LB9 305. Just figured I'd clear that up. Like I said in the description, if you were to read it as I figured most people usually do that, it states that I wasn't beating the living shit out of my car. There's no point in doing that to such a beautiful IROC. Look at the other videos I have uploaded of the her. I doubt many of you would want to mess up a car that was that clean. Sadly, I sold it but it was a great car.

  • @killjoysxe Look up "1990 IROC-Z Motor Trend" on Google and click on the first link. The stats on the L98 350, which is what my car had were ~14.5 @ 98mph. Look up the info before you decide to show people how stupid you are with an uneducated comment. Maybe you should read the description also, where I say I wasn't even putting it to the floor.   • i have a 89 vette but 6 speed, just put a zz4 engine in it as well and had tpi, but switching to miniram or stealth ram cause tired of dealing with maintenance on tpi, to time consuming and frustrating, not to mention beat up knuckles

  • @dee9283 I'm not too sure. 1990 was the first year for the half circle gauges. I don't know if it would fit. It would probably be a real pain to fit it up properly!!

    It won't fit unless you replace the entire dash all the way across. Also, you would have to do some conversions as the speedo on the half-moon dash is electric and 89 and earlier had a mechanical/analog speedo.

    And i dont know about you but in my 91' it seems that i actually get faster acceleration by not hammering it to the floor, seems like there's kind of a sweet spot for the best torque/horsepower

  • @Ratmouth66 Yeah, it's almost pointless to redline it since it runs out of steam around 4500. It's the lowend torque that gets it up to speed fast.

  • @Ratmouth66 yep the tune port injection gets power and torque production over very quickly under 4500 rpm. Thats also why these cars are so fun they spin tires like no other

    you know, thats the same for mine. After getting out of 2 nd and hitting 3rd gear once it winds to roughly 2800 RPMs it just unleashes. I have a 350 with a few aftermarket parts like a holley carb, edelbrock intake, and a good set of headers. Also an edelbrock 14 inch intake. Forged pistons are a big help also.

    My 89 Iroc is the same way. Unless I'm launching it from a stop, there is usually a sweet spot somewhere around 3/4 or so rather than hammering it.

  • @Ratmouth66 not trying to be offensive here, but even my 20 year old mk3 supra, when it was still a bone stock 7m would get up to 110mph faster and more easily, then i still have 5th gear for beyond 110, where it still pulls

  • @enigmaPL I guess nobody can read... This was a demonstrational video to show to the guy who bought my car that it worked well under moderate throttle. As stated in the description, I wasn't loading up the tranny by power braking it for a drag strip launch or anything. That's great that your Supra is so fast. My friend had an '89 Supra turbo with a five-speed in high school that used to get smoked by my IROC anytime he wanted to try to pass me. This car went 145 on more than a few occasions.

  • @SavagePete83 As I've said before, not trying to be offensive, but I highly doubt that (smoking your friends supra) with the figures this thing has, and having driven one, that was accelerating at about this rate under WOT, and had nothing on the feel and speed of the supra, but that's for me to know and you to believe if you want. I was just getting my 2 cents out there.

  • @enigmaPL You need a refund for your 2 cents. The figures that those old, heavy Supras have are not very impressive.....The IROCs were faster.

You still can't seem to be able to understand why which car is better for logical reasons, but that's alright, as you yourself pointed out, you are indeed american, chances of you understanding a simple engineering concept is too complicated.
