Haha us aussie's would destroy them, I give them respect though that Americans and South Africans are playing, if we went over there and taught them something they would learn more and play better
@SirLuke226 they probably would, but just remember that its a two way street, in other words an average american football team would be able to easily beat our national gridiron team
Paultom you are soo right the would kill. But over time other teams might get better. Like england invented cricket but australia an south africa pound at that game
@onamatapia7 I saw that and that was my first time ever seeing a footy match on TV. Now, I watch matches on espn3.com and I'm looking for a place to play. I'm just downright interested.
I did NOT know that the U.S. had an Australian Rules Football team in the first place ... wow, I do like this sport a lot whenever I can see it on FSC
ESPN2 had the Hawthorne-Carlton game, "same day" broadcast, and the full game this time, not the hour-long edit like they usually did in the 80's. Here's hoping they continue to do this...
Haha thats not what we are laughing at, moron!, the fact u's had to get David beckham(said in high voice). to lead your joke of a tam L.A. all stars you think your suddently the best?, well Becks is now considred a laughable fibure in the "soccer" world, hes become a fashionistic wanker, a poster boy for perfume!?. oh and good luck at Cricket when it repces Soft ball at next olympics at london olympics.... wanker
Caffas and yanks playing Aussie rules wow!, im officially impressed and the yanks arent shit and know what they are doing, Yanks stick to Aussie rules guys cos you just cant play soccer!.Lol
I like how people from other countries think they're really getting us good by saying "You guys can't play soccer." Of course we can't play soccer. We don't like it. Whoopy freaking do.
I don't know the Australian Football rules, but I do know it is a tough sport. (As the announcer said) I don't think they really know what they're doing...
It's a sport that makes the padded American Footballers look like complete pussys. I'd still say it's not as rough as ice hockey, but it's still hard and these guys have probably just picked up the game of recent years.
wow im australian and have played aussie rules my whole life and lots of those black south african fellas look like naturals hope in years to come some of them can get recruited
there are some pretty speedy, silky south africans there. there are some pretty good players could do well in local leagues but also some uncos. they have a lot to learn.
Too much bulk in the American team. Over four quarters of footy, the slimmer, running side will usually win with stamina.
I wouldn't mind a couple of those big American dudes in the offensive fifty for my local amateur team!
And some of those quick South African guys would make excellent midfielders.
It's so great to see Aussie Rules getting a following internationally. Aussie Rules fans would love nothing more than effective opposition teams from overseas.
For about fifteen years around the 80s & 90s ESPN, our major sports channel, used to show Aussie Rules several times a week at 2am or so.
A lot of late night drunks like myself began watching it during that era. A lot of guys like myself who are American football fans still wonder why they won't show it anymore. It had a cult following here for years.
Oh yeah, theres even a yank Cricket team. i guess they will be practicing for the 2012 games in london, cos they have given T -ball the boot and in with 20/20 cricket!, that be fun for em!.
yeah i know some people too. i was just using it as an example .. cos this guy was baggin the yanks cos they can't play AFL. he should be proud AFL is getting globalised.
aintallthat is right .... im talking to players and management on the Boston Demons USFooty Club about joining a game or two (the team no less is full of aussies), and theyre humbled by the fact a yankee enjoys their brand of football. if people wanna razz other worldly sports because theyre not american made, then i say enjoy your nascar.

I was with the Japanese team during that tournament.
South Africa beat us by 2 points.
Last year, however, they showed that they have improved a lot. Japan, not as much.
But we have improved.
Our victory over Samoa is much cherished.
