  • wheres the foward press?

  • So proud to see other countries having a go at this great game

  • they would beat port adelaide lol

  • I cant believe how shot america is. Though it is actually a difficult sport to master

  • I'm glad to see America branching out to other sports. Soccer ( football ) just started getting the super hype.

  • there so bad

  • Haha us aussie's would destroy them, I give them respect though that Americans and South Africans are playing, if we went over there and taught them something they would learn more and play better

  • @RealDealMitchell Yeh, well, if we took them on in NRL we'd get raped as well wouldn't we.

  • @colin4393 NFL*

  • @colin4393 NRL= National Rugby League. It's no typo.

  • @MrOzanachronism I'm aware of that. I meant NFL/Gridiron

  • @Miller22TheAusGamer the reason why Australia hasn't, and probably never will, compete in the international cup.

  • This is hilariously poor quality footy

  • american gladiator uniforms?

  • the aussies would own any team

  • Damn, my under 16s team plays better than this...

  • @SirLuke226 they probably would, but just remember that its a two way street, in other words an average american football team would be able to easily beat our national gridiron team

  • Captain America uniforms?

  • Paultom you are soo right the would kill. But over time other teams might get better. Like england invented cricket but australia an south africa pound at that game

  • i'd say australia wouldn't go international just yet so the other teams can get a chance because if aus played internationally they'd slaughter

  • @Pitibear:ESPN 2 just showed Geelong-Hawthorne last night, so it seems like they're showing it everyonce in a while.

  • @onamatapia7 I saw that and that was my first time ever seeing a footy match on TV. Now, I watch matches on espn3.com and I'm looking for a place to play. I'm just downright interested.

  • I did NOT know that the U.S. had an Australian Rules Football team in the first place ... wow, I do like this sport a lot whenever I can see it on FSC

  • ESPN2 had the Hawthorne-Carlton game, "same day" broadcast, and the full game this time, not the hour-long edit like they usually did in the 80's. Here's hoping they continue to do this...

  • south africa should of recruited aboriginee boys they would of chopped those US dudes up lol

  • @nygbrian9 what shit do you play then mate?

  • I love AFL didn't no it was in America lolz

  • @TheFK93 if ur so sure then stop commenting on afl videos, kid......

  • this is the first international match i have watched

  • its a hard game to play but i fucking love it

  • Australian Rules has had some sort of presence in South Africa for about 10 years

  • @mjribes at leats there not playong with themselfs like u do

  • @87nate87 Stop thinking about me playing with myself!! You're sick.

  • Its good to see american ppl branch out and have a go at sports other then their more traditional sports.

  • Most under 15's play with more skill than this in Oz. But still good on em for trying.

  • AUZZIE RULES~

for a massive fight in afl watch my video! its called AFL brawl of the century

  • good on them id like to seem them play us though

  • I wish I could play with them but they wont let us aussie have a team:'(

  • Haha thats not what we are laughing at, moron!, the fact u's had to get David beckham(said in high voice). to lead your joke of a tam L.A. all stars you think your suddently the best?, well Becks is now considred a laughable fibure in the "soccer" world, hes become a fashionistic wanker, a poster boy for perfume!?. oh and good luck at Cricket when it repces Soft ball at next olympics at london olympics.... wanker

  • yyahaha their playin in a fuckin park

  • Caffas and yanks playing Aussie rules wow!, im officially impressed and the yanks arent shit and know what they are doing, Yanks stick to Aussie rules guys cos you just cant play soccer!.Lol

  • I like how people from other countries think they're really getting us good by saying "You guys can't play soccer." Of course we can't play soccer. We don't like it. Whoopy freaking do.

  • this is pretty much true. America can excel at anything that involves tackling and hitting, but finesse games like soccer are beyond us, lol

  • Thats good 2 c that tha yanks no wat our sport great add with jono brown beatin the shit out of those gridon pussys

  • Thanks for posting this.

I was with the Japanese team during that tournament.

South Africa beat us by 2 points.

Last year, however, they showed that they have improved a lot. Japan, not as much.

    But we have improved.

Our victory over Samoa is much cherished.

  • Thanks for playing our great game.

  • they will learn how to kick soon..

  • LoL...........at least there trying

  • Awesome! Great to see this great game being enjoyed by people from around the world! Keep up the good work lads.

  • what the hell is this. USA vs South Africa??? So it's international now is it. If so, Aussie will be on the top of the ladder.

I appreciate them playing our sport but I suk big time at NFL and so Americans suks big time at AFL.

  • wow i had know idea americans played footy

  • wtf is this shit?

these guys are all American Football rejects

there is barely any contact in this sport its just trying to block kicks is what it looks to

someone plz explain me the rules?

  • I don't know the Australian Football rules, but I do know it is a tough sport. (As the announcer said) I don't think they really know what they're doing...

  • It's a sport that makes the padded American Footballers look like complete pussys. I'd still say it's not as rough as ice hockey, but it's still hard and these guys have probably just picked up the game of recent years.

  • you've never played American Football, yet i have played rugby, ice hockey, football, basketball, soccer, wrestling, and volleyball.

    1. American Football and Ice Hockey

    2. Basketball

    3. Rugby

    4. soccer, volleyball

  • wow im australian and have played aussie rules my whole life and lots of those black south african fellas look like naturals hope in years to come some of them can get recruited

  • now the yankees know what a real man's game is like...unlike that poofy game they call football

  • there are some pretty speedy, silky south africans there. there are some pretty good players could do well in local leagues but also some uncos. they have a lot to learn.

  • i did not know we had a team lol

  • Thats not a bad standard, some of these guys would go alright in most suburban leagues.

  • I noticed that the standard has improved greatly in 2008 - around 100% A pity the tournament hasn't though.

  • Too much bulk in the American team. Over four quarters of footy, the slimmer, running side will usually win with stamina.

I wouldn't mind a couple of those big American dudes in the offensive fifty for my local amateur team!

And some of those quick South African guys would make excellent midfielders.

It's so great to see Aussie Rules getting a following internationally. Aussie Rules fans would love nothing more than effective opposition teams from overseas.

    The great world cup fantasy!

  • i had no idea the USA was into AFL

well us Aussie's are still the best :D

  • There are many here in the U.S. who enjoy not only AFL, but GAA and Rugby (Union and League)

None of them get nearly the airplay they deserve here. I'm going to subscribe to Setanta Sports so I can get me fill

  • Yeah I like rugby and cricket and such and I'm from the US

  • im an aussie and i like ice hockey adn gridiron. im into the tough sports and basketball as well.

  • For about fifteen years around the 80s & 90s ESPN, our major sports channel, used to show Aussie Rules several times a week at 2am or so.

A lot of late night drunks like myself began watching it during that era. A lot of guys like myself who are American football fans still wonder why they won't show it anymore. It had a cult following here for years.

  • I think they now show it on Sentanta Sports in the USA & Canada...

  • I reckon the sport is soon to make a come back in America with a vengance. Hold on tight, it's only a matter of time

  • especially after the coverage thanks to barry hall's punch

  • @laspino if you go on espn3.com they still are showing it. and its on late night saturdays and sunday and sometimes mondays and thursdays.

  • Oh yeah, theres even a yank Cricket team. i guess they will be practicing for the 2012 games in london, cos they have given T -ball the boot and in with 20/20 cricket!, that be fun for em!.

  • haha. check the bloke out in the bandanna hahaha

  • this is funny, watching amricans playing rugby, all they know is football

  • This is AFL not rugby. Are you daft?

  • wtf? americans cant play afl for shit

  • shutup dumbass

im austrralian and its great that afl is becoming more globalised.

i'd like to see australians playing NFL

  • spell australian right u dickweed and australians do play nfl more then americans play afl

  • wow i accidentally pressed 'r' twice. gees what are you, the cops? spell 'you' right

and i didn't say that australians (happy?) dont play NFL. it's just i can just imagine that we can't play NFL for shit compared to the yanks

  • I know a couple of boys that went to the states to play College football on scholarships.

  • yeah i know some people too. i was just using it as an example .. cos this guy was baggin the yanks cos they can't play AFL. he should be proud AFL is getting globalised.

  • Absolutley, great to see.

  • there was this one guy called Darren Bennett or something he was pretty good.

  • there are also two other Australian Players you've failed to mention like Ben Graham and Saverio Rocca

  • yeah i mean Darren Bennett was the reason the NFL drafts afl players as punters.

  • aintallthat is right .... im talking to players and management on the Boston Demons USFooty Club about joining a game or two (the team no less is full of aussies), and theyre humbled by the fact a yankee enjoys their brand of football. if people wanna razz other worldly sports because theyre not american made, then i say enjoy your nascar.
