I really don't consider it as a love triangle since this ep is more about Yuta's past and how it has closure to it; from what I gather, this story is how Nae, being as a zombie, couldn't let herself die until she meets Yuta at the red valley one last time. In a way, she shouldn't rest walking upon the earth unless the promise made by Yuta is furfilled. Once it is furfilled, she moves on.
You know sometimes I get the idea that Takahashi Rumiko is writing about true tragedeis that happened a long time ago. But in a different version like mermaid flesh thing, I wonder.
