Yes, patyxxx, AFAIK this is only possible when Flex mode is active.
930Mann, I don't have an app that records keystrokes, but if you let me know which specific commands you are thinking of, I'll let you know if additional keystrokes are needed and which they are.
If you enable Fade Tool Click Zones and Marquee Tool Click Zones, you'll be surprised to see how many things you can control without a modifier! (Preferences>General>Editing)
In the first 6 seconds of this video, you "edit region length" by expanding the track forward. Is this unique to Logic 9? Or can this be done in Logic 8? I can peel back in 8, but haven't be able to figure out how to do it forward. Please help!
• In order to see barlines through regions, set Automation Transparency to max for Regions (under Preferences>Display>Arrange)
• In order to be able to work in 'three tool mode', choose "Right Mouse Is Assignable to a Tool" (under Preferences>General>Editing)
• In the same Pref.-area, under "Pointer Tool in Arrange Provides", activate both "Fade Tool Click Zones" and "Marquee Tool Click Zones" if you want full multi-tool functionality.
Looks like someone read the manual!

some good tips but the keystrokes should've been displayed cuz some of those commands a mouse alone cannot replicate!

Hi, here are a few other one-click edits I could have included, but didn't:
1) Long click on cycle area in the bar rules: splits regions at locator positions. If no regions are selected, all regions are split
2) Double-click with Marquee tool: divides region
3) Double-click on Flex marker removes it
4) Move Flex marker with Alt-button: the Flex Marker is moved, but the material isn't stretched
