  • Enchanting~

  • This my all-time favorite

  • my favorite part of song is at 3:31 when the music breaks down and beats sounds liek explosions into 3:45 when music becomes serene ...this music was innovative at its time..a unique fusion of early hip hop ala planet rock beats and jazz and funk.was my favorite song in 1985 to 1986 and is still to me the best instrumental song of all time

  • That Old School sound just so pleasing to my human ears... you can put all those musicians, artist, synths, drum machines in the studio today ,and it still would'nt sound right without analog Reel Tape.

  • Would this by any chance happen to be jazz?

  • @TheKelz93 i think some ppl consider it to be jazz but i think its like electronic/jazz/house or something...

  • @ancienttraver19881989 ..i agree electro is a more familiar term to me than freestyle..i grew up on this music in the 80s .so i always knew it to be said as such...im old school...freestyle is a more recent term for this kind of music which these younger folks use

  • Why can't music be like this today?

  • @molonlave2010 because music industries hand out contracts to anyone, like justin beiber ,lady gaga mariah wats her face,

  • OMG I finally found this song after like 10 years of searching, amazing song...great to listen to during a friday or saturday night

  • Hi ! I was going through a Billboard Magazine (1985 Jan. edition on Googlebooks: On Google, type Billboard googlebooks + the month and year you want) and I saw this song on the chart. I search for it here and Ok, it's that song ! That song used be played on CKOI 96,9FM Montreal (strongest signal FM radio in Canada) when they gave the horoscope. They had never said what was the song. Now I learn it 26 years later. Never too late to learn... Thanks, it's so different than "19". Brodactor in MTL.

  • @Brodactor I love this tune - they used to play it all the time on WENN-FM in Birmingham, AL - this was the IDEAL JAM to listen to on Saturday afternoons (especially if there was a BBQ going on)!

  • @jistarr979 the song u speak of is either king tut...or probably rainforest sax remix ..both by paul hardcastle

  • @bobo007 SOME PEOPLE CALL FREESTYLE EARLY TECHNO..BUT U KNOW WHAT I MEAN LOL

  • @mightymikec7 this is electro not freestyle - i can just about understand how what was once called electro is now called freestle but its obviously not right to use an American term to describe what was/is known as electro in Britain if its by an English artist

  • amazing song! I love listening to Hardcastle's music while studying. I just realized that Paul kind of looks like Dane from Under Seige 2.

Hip Hop and Rap were still in its infancy, but still fresh and innovative. This provide a coll and fresh backdrop and break when homies just wanted to chill out. Great memories! Thanks for posting.

  • I love this song.

  • Yeah, it's great.

  • i just noticed a lot of songs in the 80's had the same beat

this, Planet Pock, Childrens Story, Numbers before anyone says no its not shut up you fag, just listen to each song and pay attention to the drum beat

  • This particular beat was a standard for a lot of Electro tracks.

Kraftwerk introduced it via Numbers, Afrika Bambaataa took it and beefed it up with Planet Rock.

The Willesden Dodgers put it on their dj album under the title of Rhythm Trax 122 BPM and it went all over.

  • ........Actually it was Trans Europe Express....and yes it was KRAFTWERK

  • I think you might be right DMac. I think they might have been 'sampling" before they called it that. LOL! Planet Rock is old school with the same baseline. Awesome tune though

  • Sorry Mr Master of Muppets...You'll just have to go with Major General Consensus and his doctrine that a tune is a song...9 out 10 cats prefer it...Trust me

Back in 1985, when all the kids were break dancing on cardboard, me included - (by-the-way, I'm white and from a small town in western Kentucky) - one summers night I played this song - that I got while going thru St. Louis on a way to see a Cards game - and was King of the cardboard that night and week because nobody had heard it yet!
