Marines aren't the best, special forces are better than them and there's not much of a difference between army infantry and marines. Overall, neither force could do their job without the other, they ALL work together.

well, it cost the same in US dollars to train a single canadian or australian enlisted infantry as it does to train more then 4 US marine enlisted infantry. the US military is way too large for them to spend shitloads on every soldier, with them, its quanity over quality. the marines are still a tough, blood lusting force... but in terms of single soldier quality, they are not that good. saying 200 thousand marines is equal to 2 million of any other troop is completly retarded

@Savantosen Uhyea it will. World war two on average was 5-10 japs for every marine. Korea, 10 koreans for every marine and almost 20 chinks. In vietnam it was around 15 and thats strictly marine infantry. Now the infantry has an unknown number above 30 between iraq and afghanistan, and thats against unconventional warfare. In a conventional fight wed still be racking above 10 enemies for every marine, and we still have air force, navy, and army. So infantry wise the marines could take onmillions

@Savantosen numbers are always better? just 1 of the many historic examples that proves that incorrect is the battle of thermopylae.. if u dont know, about 2500 years ago, a massive army of about 250 000 persian slave/warriors went up against less then 10 000 citizen/warrior greeks. and altho the greeks ultimatly lost the battle, a few hundred men from a single greek tribe held the line against the persians for over 36 hours and inflicted estimated kill death ratios of nearly 1000/1 ... dumbass

no units are breaking out the M14 besides the SEALs as a sniper rifle, the M4 jams and ever heats just like any weapon

@12jason223, It is not replacing the M-4 / M-16 as a main battle rifle but as a rifle that out ranges the M-16 it is being used at a multi-round sniper rifle and something that will way out range the M-16. Obviously Seals are using them and clearly Soldiers are using them and you can also find Marines using them, but correct not as a MBR, US navy ships all have some aboard since Vietnam but a lot of the M-14's were destroyed and others sold to foreign governments.

@mkmkc5, Google images, for one. Punch in "M-14 Afghanistan" or Iraq. youtube where 12jason223 may have heard the reference to Seals using it as a special sniper rifle and m-14 is being broken out. I noticed them in combat photos, combatant postings, videos, etc. I will talk to combatants. I hold a perm DoD card & auto stickers, sleep and shop on bases once in awhile and own property next to both of the largest M bases where they keep most of the M combatants.
