The Bible scripture to which you referred was recorded by King Solomon in the book of Proverbs (Prov. 29:18). I know what you mean regarding the approaching 50 and memory. Couple of thoughts on that, the Holy Spirit helps our remembrance giving us the mind of Christ (Jn. 14:26, 1 Cor. 2:16), and there is a product called Prevagen that is supposed to help restore memory recall capability which uses a protein from a jelly fish.
