This is one of my favourite novels of all time, it is a love story, but also a story of revenge, and pain and forbidden love.

You see, if she said, 'I love Heathcliff', it would not make sense, as she had just DESCRIBED her love for Edgar & 'a sort of literal, physical delight, but necessary' would not make sense because you cannot have a positive 'but' a positive. =)

I think Fiennes makes a very good Heathcliff.

Although Binoche is a very talented actress I think Cathy should have been a bit more mad!

Because Juliette Binoche plays both the mother and the daughter, so when in the middle of the movie the mother dies, she bcame her own daughter who is blonde. That's all :))) Aaand this is a really bad spoiler if you didn't read the book or see the movie :)

But Heathcliff HAD long hair! :) In the novel I can read "I combed his long black hair from his forehead", when Ellen Dean finds him dead! ;) The problem is that Ralph Fiennes is blond and has blue eyes, but I think he plays Heathcliff perfectly, even with blond hair.
