  • Gospel of John- " What do we do that God wants us to do?" Jesus says " Believe in the one whom He sent."

Ephesians - Saved by Faith, not of works

Book of James- Saved, and a sign of your faith is works, not that your saved by works.

  • visit vv vv vv . james15 . blogspot . kom for the truth

  • You asked what is wrong with a little bit of works? Everything! Anything that you add to the free gift of grace, immediately ruins it. Because if you have to work for something, even just a little bit, then what you are getting is not free. And if it isn't free, then it isn't grace!!!

  • I think how you guys are arguing over works of fictions. Reminds me of twilight fan girls.

  • Your Mormon writings say that salvation comes by baptism by a Mormon clergy.

Also your "Jesus" is not the Jesus of the bible. There is only one God, the one trinity.

Your teachings say - .” God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens.” “and you have got to learn how to become Gods yourselves”,

  • Listen. Faith is the ability to hear the voice of God, be it dreams, visions, discernment, or some other method. Faith is not just believing or having trust, it is so much more than that. Works then, is doing whatever is commanded you by faith. Faith is hearing, works is doing. Works completes faith. Works makes your faith perfect.

  • i wasn't saved by christ. i was saved by my good deed . you guys are brainwashed by a con man like joseph smith who made up a wild story about jesus coming to the americas, indigenous people who don't exist which is called the book of mormon. no proof has ever been found for the book because is a fraud.mormon is a cult and do the devils work period.

  • Saved by Grace Alone?

    Quit stealing from the Lutherans!

    haha kiddin' ya kid.

  • Abraham had no WORKS for his rightousness Genesis 15: 6. Paul states that Abraham was only justified by his faith! BUT James says that you are justified by your works too? James did not receive the revelation from Jesus christ but Paul did Galatians 1: 1 - 12. blinded on the road to damascus Acts 9.

LAZY? What we are supposed to do is preach the gospel, lay hands on the sick and cast out demons in the name of Jesus, Mark 16: 15 - 18 and Matthew 28 ARE YOU DOING THIS?

  • It is only about our faith! (Episians 2: 8 - 9) Jesus finihsed all works to glorify the Father: John 17: 1 - 4. WE CAN ONLY GO OUT AND DO THE WILL OF GOD, go out and praech the gosepel, the spirit of Jesus is within us and the work that He completed manifest it's self and glorifies God. We can not do any type of works, then we would be trying to be qual or greater than Jesus. James did not walk with Jesus, James did not do the will of God. James contraditcs Paul by Abrham belief ONLY

  • ephesians 2:8 by grace you are saved through faith and it is not of yourselves it is the gift of God

vs. 9 NOT OFF WORKS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST Only one could keep the commandments it was GOD HIMSELF JESUS CHRIST in the flesh

the bible tells us of all these great men of GOD but you notice they all were flawed people like us (falling short of GODS standard) the law was there to show us we could never keep it and we needed to always look to GOD for his grace (innocent blood sacraficed)

  • @ArenaisMcFly BINGO! That's what I'm trying to tell these missionaries

  • James states that "faith without works is dead". In one verse, "dead" in Greek means "unfruitful, useless, barren." Peter did not want us to be "unfruitful in the knowledge of Christ Jesus." Considering good works "perfect" faith according to James and Paul speaks of "faithfulness" according to his OT quote, active faith is what saves. Without good works, it is incomplete faith and will not save you.

  • However, in Romans 2: "He will reward each one according to his works: eternal life to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality." Eternal life is for those who persevere in good works and faith. Paul set the tone for Romans when he quoted Habbakuk in Rom. 1: "The just shall live by faith." But when Habbakuk said it, he used the Hebrew "emunah" for "faith", meaning "steadfastness, faithfulness", not just a profession of or intellectual assent.

  • "By works a man is justified, and not by faith only". Faith is "made perfect" by works according to James. He also states, "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?" James is speaking of faith unto salvation. Paul condemns self-righteous Jews in Romans 2 who thought they could earn their own salvation through their own works. He stresses the need for faith in Jesus Christ and the necessity of grace.

  • did you read the verses I posted awhri?? What kind of answer is that? Do you understand that you are not saved by works? Grace and works cancels out each other. You are trying to buy your way to Heaven thru your works! The verses I posted are saying that you are saved by the blood of Christ. Your "church" has another jesus, another gospel and another god all together! Do you understand the word grace? read Romans 4 and 5.

  • I looked at your verses. I will answer them. For one, they aren't very good for your position. I can think of better ones. But that is beside the point. I will focus on Romans 4, 5, and 11. It isn't that we dispute salvation by grace. It is that we dispute the lack of works necessary for true, saving faith. In Romans 4, Paul uses Gen. 15:6 as a proof text. Abraham was "justified" by faith. The same Greek word "diakoiw" is used for "justified" in James 2.

  • Show me a person of faith, That person has a ton of good works.

    This gal understands that principle.

  • get out of that cult and repent from your iniquity and follow only the word of God and believe only the risin Jesus.

  • The idea that brutally torturing an innocent man to death somehow makes up for our shortcomings is, quite frankly, the mentaity of a serail killer.

  • I think you misunderstand what we consider the atonement to be--it wasn't the beatings and the torturing that made Jesus atone, but the weight of guilt and agony of conscience from sin, suffered in Gethsemane and on the cross. Such weight would be impossible for us to overcome, frail as we are.

  • That still doesn't explain how Jesus' suffering somehow helped. The mentality that suffering is somehow noble and pure has plagued Christianity's victims ever since.

  • you like to deceive people with false argument and Bible twisting!I live in Provo, utah. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 17For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.Romans11:5,John1:17,galatians2:21.and Mormons have another Jesus.

  • Exactly why you must have faith and works! ;) Grace is available to all, but you must choose to take it. Please choose to take it, and follow Christ's example.

  • See, this is funny, because I just got into a huge argument about faith and works. Of course, it was more of 'him-shouting-at-me' match because I was Mormon and so - OBVIOUSLY - the seed of the Enemy in his eyes for doing what I understand to be serving Christ to the best of my ability.

  • Really good points. It can go too far either way, even among LDS folks. The "spirit of the law" argument is sometimes used to justify sinful behaviour, just as some may stress certain standards are the sole crux of salvation (obedience to Word of Wisdom etc..). It can be a tightrope walk sometimes in my opinion, but the guidepost is the spirit. Hence another meaning of "spirit of the law". Obedience brings the spirit. :) Theres some insomiac ramblings for ya lol!8-)

  • Oh and another good scripture is John 14:15

"If you love me, keep my commandments"

If Christ meant to say it was just "faith/grace" alone and not "works" He would have said: "If you love me just believe in me" (as most so-called christians believe)- but He didn't

He states in this chapter - if you keep His words (commandments-actually live it-not just preach it)then you are loved by Him and the Father

Keeping His commandments requires "ACTION"(works) not just WORDS of praise.

  • Good job Ahwri - keep it up. The Lord will bless you for following the counsel of the Lord through his servants to do what you have done with all your videos.
