I believe there is nothing wrong here on Earth, just at dense populated areas. This planet is way to big for humans to manipulate it!

Wrong. If Earth is a spaceship, we humans have become the pilots and we're running it into the ground. It's not that we're overpopulating Earth. It's how we're using the planet to sustain ourselves that is affecting virtually all of the planet's ecosystems in fundamental and irreversible ways. We are changing the very chemistry of the planet.

It troubles me to see people who are blind to what we're doing to our planet.

an obvious reference to george carlin.

everyone assumes people mean life when they say earth. hes talking about the actual planet itself. Earths been around for over 4 billion years and we couldnt blow up the whole planet if we tried. we're just like a bad case of fleas it's gonna shake off. the only reason people care so much about the "planet" is because they want to have they're own little patch of earth that's clean so they can live happily and still have food.

I would like to believe this, but I think this idea is more wishful thinking than based on any factual evidence. All the data I have read suggests that the rate we are damaging the plant is more than its ability to heal itself. It is a marvelous planet and why we should not rely on wishful thinking but on our ability to correct what we are doing wrong.

MAn, we are the earth though, you cant forget that! And nature has taught us to do what we have to in order to survive. Mother nature will thrash out and kill many humans very soon. Then the realization of man will come to a climax and things will stop changing so fast, thus giving the earth more than enough time to heal. Dont worry, many of us will die (but not continue to exist) and itll all be alright :)

Not precisely the response I was hoping, but okay. I prefer to imagine that there is hope for all of us. It seems that every generation so far has not gotten it right. Maybe we only have 1 last generation to set things right. Let's hope we can do so! God bless.
