  • although this has 1 model memory, can i use it with multiple cars?

  • @TehProspector Yes, you'll just need to rebind, and most likely reset your trims, when you go from one model to the next.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Can you plug in a winch to the reciver and you're ready to go?

  • BEC plug into Bind port?

  • @MontuckyBill You could. Actually you can plug your receiver pack into any open port on the receiver

  • Well this work on my night crawler and the dig unit on the comp crawler?

  • I just installed this on my slash! PROBLEM: My cc SV2 esc is not responding to the radio. Its giving it power but no throttle there is steering but as i said not throttle whats the problem! I had it going once but reverse was faster than forwards.

  • is thia just like the traxxas link 2.4ghz? i have a traxxas link in my slash and i wnat a spectrum but if its nothing better then ill look for something else in spectrum. please respond

  • @MrJdsusername Similar but not identical. Similar frequencies but different tech behind the scenes making it happen.

  • Are the servo and the receiver waterproof?

    Please Answer.

  • @blaa653 no

  • I have a slash platinum edition and I was wondering if you can hook up the receiver to the main battery instead of the small battery? and I have no clue how to set it up i see all these reviews but no setups for the slash. i am pretty early to rc cars and don't want to mess this up. is there any way you can post a vido of a setup?

  • Nowadays the DX3C offers much better value for the money.

  • could the servo fit a traxxas rustler stampede or bandit?

  • @losidude11 Yes you could

  • good for scx10

  • Will the servo work good in the a rock crawler like the losi comp crawler because If it does it will save me money on buying one

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Can i bind this with a losi micro rock crawler plz ANSWER

  • @RcBoy2000 Yes you can

  • will that work with my revo 3.3 it has a regular 27 mhz and it's a 3 channel will the spektrum dx3e work with my revo 3.3 it has reverse

  • @josiellin Yes it will. You'll just need to swap out the transmitter and receiver and you're good to go

  • will it work with the rustler vxl

  • @erodenhouse Yes it will

  • is there a fail safe? how can i set it

  • @TomTubeFrancia Yes, every Spektrum receiver has a built-in failsafe. It's set during the bind process.

  • Does this remote work with the comp crawler from losi and its dig setup?

  • I got it and i wish to say how grate is. just i removed from my slash the reciver cover. removed the reciver. i puted in the spektrum reciver and take care you need to trim the plugs side and steering and trottle plug. Its no how to inverse the polarity so its no chase to make mistakes. The radio was seted in factory so no needed to make other setttings. I belive in the rc sistem and proven capability to guide traxxas cars like slash vxl What i have. its a grate product its worth its money.

  • I want to get this radio so i can use a dig on my crawler

  • Does it work with a dig system in my ax10

  • I have a dsm dx3e and when the receiver and the transmitter is turned on the wheels on the R/C goes hard left. For some reason I can't not get the transmitter to rebind. I insert the bind plug in the receiver with a power supply (the green light flash). Then I held the bind button on the transmitter, and turned on the power (the red light doesn't flash). It will not go into bind mode on the transmitter.

  • can you use any sterring servos you want to?

  • @bgj27030 Yes you can

  • hey one more question my steering servo turns more to the right than the left?

  • @RM125390 Look on the top of the radio. There's travel adjustment knobs for both the left and right throw. Make sure they're both adjusted evenly. You may also need to mechanically change your linkage lengths too or reposition your servo saver then re-center everything on the radio.

  • Thank you! that worked perfect

  • Hey I just bought this radio for my traxxas slayer and my traxxas servo does not plug into my sr300 surface receiver (it is to wide). Do I have to get a new servo or do they make an adapter?

  • @RM125390 There's an "ear" on the side of the servo and ESC plugs. Simply trim that off and it will plug right in.

  • Comment removed

  • can i put other stuff at the 3rd channel port? a light kit perhaps?

  • @erik0519 If it's activated by a momentary or toggle switch, sure.

  • will this work with a losi micro t

  • @dustin5178 Yes, however you'll need to change out the receiver, ESC and Servo

  • I was thinking about buying a SC10 factory team kit, would this be a good match? I like the fact that it comes with radio, receiver and servo.

  • @xxROUGHNECKxx Yes, it would work well in there. You may want to consider the DX2S as wel

  • Would that 3 position switch perfect for the m2 dig novak esc for the front n rear dig?

    Thanks

  • ok thank you

  • O sorry i wasnt clear i ment a slash 4x4 witch is a 1 10 scale

  • @SizeMatterss1 Yes, but that is closer to 1/8-scale than 1/10 in-terms of servo requirements. I would still recommend something with more torque.

  • Hopefully you can answer my question. I put 8th scale tires on my 4x4 and i was noting the servo is starting to slow dowm, and i was wondering if this would be a good servo that will help fix the problem

  • @SizeMatterss1 No, you'd want something with more torque. A servo with 150-200oz of torque minimum recommended. Something like the Spektrum S6030 or S6040 would work better.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom SO its not a good servo?

  • @SizeMatterss1 For your application, no. It's geared more towards the 1/10-scale electric crowd.

  • @98haz Yes it will and yes you can. The only thing you may need to do is trim the tab that's on the side of the servo and ESC plug.

  • @MrBioluminescence It will not, it's far too small.

  • will the steering servo work with my hpi blitz

  • @compassman33 Yes it would

  • i got this one ! :D

  • Hello i wondering to this radio will fit to a traxxas slash vxl 1/16 car? it is complicated to mount in? And if you have any videos ar manuals to doing the radio change?

I have the TQ radio with antenna and i wish to change with a tihis kind of radio. What you think it worht it?

  • @kdlehel Yes you can use this with the 1/16-scale Slash. One minor thing you may need to do is I believe there is a small tab on the side of the plug where it would go into the receiver. You'll need to trim that off with a hobby knife, but other than that should be a direct swap for you.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom ok than i will buy one. Thanks your answer. All the bests.

  • get another model if you have more than one reciever you want to use... its only a 1 channel /reciever memory!!!

  • I just bought the losi xxx cr buggy and i dont know if i should get this or the DX2S DSM 2-Ch Transmitter??

  • hi, i was making sure before i baught this product at horizon hobby that i could hook up my steering serzo, my esc and a 3racing winch.

  • i cant get my spektrum dx3e to bind to my sr300 reciever

  • @xMINISHUTZx Plug the bind plug into the receiver and power the receiver on. Hold down the bind button on the top of the radio and turn it on. From there you should be good.

  • Hi, is the s200 servo that comes with this radio powerful enough to work the steering of an SCX10 honcho rock crawler? I'm putting together my first RC 4x4 ever, so I would like to know if I need to purchase an aditional servo. Thanks.

  • @perolito83 It has 100oz of torque which is pretty good. You can go with something like the Spektrum S6030 though that will have 278oz of torque and probably provide better holding power too.

  • so would i be right in thinking i could use the switch at the back for a kill switch ?

  • @mickbromage You could, as long as you could connect it in a way that would either shut off the ignition or cut off the fuel supply.

  • i was thinking of getting a traxxas slash platinum and getting one of these but they seem really complicated

  • @wakjob94 This is actually one of the easiest-to-use and user-friendly radios you can get. There's no complicated programming or anything.

  • what is aux ??

  • @HAN2929 Aux is Auxiliary. It's an additional channel that you can plug something into and control it from the transmitter. For example say you have an extra servo and you want to have rear-steering. With the Aux channel you can activate that servo.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Thanks, dose it help me turn on my light system in my rc car ??

  • @HAN2929 Yes, it could

  • can u use it with my revo 3.3 cause it has two steering servos ?

  • @22yoshifan Yes, I believe Traxxas simply uses a Y-Harness to connect both servos together to the receiver which would work with this receiver.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thanks a lot:)

  • So about the built in failsafe? You dont hv to buy the venom failsafe or emything? Or is intheere already? So if my battery goes bad or out of range it will lock the servo so my nitro car wont crash?

  • @x7Chaosbullet Correct, the failsafe is built into the receiver. Now the only thing that will save you, in any instance of battery failure, would be to have a throttle return spring.

  • would you e able to use this with a truck or car with two steering servos like the emaxx

  • does the hobby zone surface transmitter (Transmitter: ZZR3 Channel 4) bind with a SR300 3-Channel DSM Sport Surface Receiver?

  • @rabfs It will not, sorry.

  • theres no 3rd channel button?

  • @nolo148 It's a switch on the side of the transmitter.

  • When you buy the controller, does it come with a receiver?

  • @AbujafaMadness Yes, it includes an SR300 receiver

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Ok thank you very much

  • if i buy it will works on traxxas slas vxl1/16?

  • @kdlehel Yes it will

  • @HorizonRCdotCom it is complicated to set up?

  • @kdlehel Not at all. In all it should take you just a few minutes to get everything rocking and rolling.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom here need to make the bindig process? Sorry for alot of questions.

  • @kdlehel Binding takes all of about 15-20 Seconds. You power up the receiver with the bind plug inserted, hold down the bind button on the transmitter while turning it on and, voila, it binds.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thank you the infos. All the best. I will buy this reciver than.

  • do u have to use that servo

  • Thanks for the great informative review

  • so i could use the aux port to put a killer rc "killer bee V2-S" unit into it, for a baja 5b?

  • Of where i can buy it ?

  • @ivailo98 If you're in the US you can buy from our website. If you click on the "More Info" section of this video the second link will take you to a page where you can place your order.

  • Thanks this will really help when I get my baja!! 5*

  • Thanks, and one more thing, I was also looking at the dx3s and was wondering if the telemetry works with the baja??

    Thanks a lot

  • @TheBajaBoy97 Yes it will work with the Baja, you'll just need to come up with a custom mount for the RPM sensor pickup.

  • Hi

I'm looking at a HPI Baja 5b ss and need a radio. I like this radio alot and was wondering if the 6v hump packs for baja will go into the receiver that comes with this radio.

    Thanx

  • @TheBajaBoy97 Yes it will. The only thing you might need to do is modify the plug. See, on some receiver plugs they have an ear on one side that would slot into the receiver's casing. You can use a hobby knife and just shave that off. That is what I normally. do.

  • HI There,

I am looking at getting this for a Nitro HPI mt2 G3.0 will it be suitable?

  • @matthewthewizkid Yup, it will work nicely

  • DOES IT HAVE A FALE SAFE CHIP ?

  • @manosgamer23 The failsafe is built into the receiver, but yes, all Spektrum receivers have built-in failsafes.

  • Will it work with the HPI baja 5B

  • @Jutts101 Yes, in fact I have used it with our 5B! It works great

  • my antenna broke off is there any way i can get this fixed

  • @CoreyGalbreath Corey, you can contact Product Support at (800) 338-4639 and they should be able to get you taken car of

  • on the 3rd channel with the 3 position switch be ok with a 3 racing winch

  • @TheJigSawDO6473 I haven't used that winch but if it's activated by a momentary or a 2/3 position switch then it should work.

  • i have lights runing off the auxillary how can i turn them on off remotely

  • Only 1 model memory? For $90 you can get a Airtronics MX3 Sport, which has an LCD screen and 10 model memory, and more control options than the DX3E.

  • i have the DX3E i called your shop but i cant remember if i can plug the Spektrum Voltage Protector in the bind plug because im useing all 3 channals the bind port is the only one open I told them what it was doing and he said it will fix the problem of low voltage so if you can help that would be great

  • @suzux90 Yes you can without any problem.

  • will it work with the stock slash servo

  • @CABINETDUDE69 Yes, you may need to trim part of the plug though where it goes into the receiver though.

  • can the auxilery switch be used to run a winch on a scale truck? i'm just wondering because i just got a dx3e. it is a really nice transmitter. i control my slash with it.

  • @sledneckf5 If the winch is activated by a toggle switch then yes, it should be able to.

  • is it possible to have two radio for one reciever?

  • can i use a micro analog servo with the DX3E? like the servo for rc18r

  • @DarkSkysify Yes you can

  • @HorizonRCdotCom cool to know, now ill go get one

  • How come this Spektrum DX3 version is cheaper then all other DX3's??

    Because it has no display?

  • @TDelementFlipmaster There's a few reasons and the lack of a display is one of them. It's a single-model memory radio which brings the cost down, as does the lack of any computerization. That being said it also has a lot of the same features, from endpoint adjustments, separate trim rates, etc, that more expensive radios have too.

  • Does the DX3E have a fail safe ??

  • @burtonkidd It's built into the receiver.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

Ok cool so the built in fail safe is for frequency loss rite ?

So if my battery comes loose will the fail safe kick on and stop the truck ?

  • @burtonkidd If you have a battery failure no failsafe can work. This is why you need to install throttle return springs

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

Ok i have a throttle return spring and a elastic band so i think this radio will be my next upgrade ..

  • Would that servo be better than the stock one on a stampede vxl?

  • @1501HP The new Spektrum 6010 and 6020 are both excellent servos that would work very well in that truck

  • I have a couple questions, first, what are some features that a computerized radio has that the DX3E doesn't have? And second, do you have to rebind every time you switch vehicles?

  • @UrbanSportGuy Well one of the main things would be the lack of expo adjustments. Plus not having an LCD your endpoint adjustments aren't as precise or repeatable. And yes, you will have to rebind when you switch vehicles.

  • hi, my question is will this be recommended for boat uses. I have a Venom VR3T and I was only getting less than 30 ft of range when on water, but no problem out of the water. I was told that most 2.4ghz has problems on water.

  • @BinosaFamilyCircle The Marine Technology from Spektrum is designed to have the best RF signal on the water, hands-down. When used with an MR3000 receiver you'll have a great signal through and through. We've tested that receiver in the big 55-size boats like the Blackjack 55 and the Shockwave 55 and it shines.

  • I really like this radio, but I already have a receiver and I cant seem to find any places where you can buy just the transmitter. Is the Transmitter available just by itself without the servo or receiver for less?

  • @XX35TZXX There is not a transmitter-only option of the DX3E

  • @IbzSolja1 I don't believe it's rated as being waterproof.

  • @IbzSolja1 the S200 has 100oz of torque and a .13 transit time, all measured and rated at 6v.

  • Im really into this controller but i want to know something :D, ok so the radio is compatible with any car right? but what about the servo would it fit into an 200mm 1/10 car or a 1/8 buggy? if yes that great! and for the receiver, is it like an universal size. Cause i wan it to fit into an HPI RS4 evo+ and to an OFNA PICCO would it fit sir? thanks for answering!!!!! =D

  • @OscarOrtega91 Yes, you can use the DX3E with any car or truck. As far as the servo, yes, it will fit into a sedan or 1/8-scale buggy but I don't know that I would recommend it for steering on the buggy. You'll probably want to use something with a touch more torque. For throttle though it would be just fine.

  • @HorizonRCdotCom Alrighty then thx for everything! but as for as now i can actually use the servo for steering, for now..... :D ill change it later, o yes and one more thing men, is it a metal servo? yes right? and once again thx for answering =)

  • Would the servo that comes with the dx3e be better then the one that comes with the sc10

  • Well the stock SC10 RTR servo has about 42oz of torque where the S200 has 100. Speed-wise the SC10's stock servo has a .16 transit time, the S200 has a .13. So all in all it's a little quicker and over twice as much torque, plus it's digital.

  • Ok thanks.

  • How do the knobs feel , will they get lame fast ?

Meaning, i have to keep adjusting the end points and so on ?

  • They still feel solid on my DX3E after months of use.

  • Hello Sir,

I just bought the DX3E. It's amazing for it's value. I'm interested in buying the SR3001 receiver to get the decrease latency by 1.3ms. Would I get this decrease latency if I bound the DX3E transmitter and the SR3001 together? (I'm basically asking would there be a difference if I use the SR300 or SR3001 receiver with the DX3E transmitter?)

    Thanks!

  • Although the difference is really small and might not be that noticeable, there is a slight bit of improvement with the SR3001.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.

What if I used the DX3E transmitter with a DSM2 receiver, such as the SR3100?

Will there be a big difference(if any) between the SR300 and the SR3100 bound with the DX3E transmitter?

  • Theres no real difference when using a DSM2 receiver with the DX3E.

  • same same.

i just wana know if it will give me the range i will need in the dunes with my 5b.

  • so is this radio all around good? it looks good for the prices

  • It uses the same technology in terms of the signal that the DX3R, DX3S and other Spektrum radios use, so from a signal integrity standpoint, yeah, it's a really, really good budget radio. I remember when radios that had all the endpoint adjustments like this has cost over $300.

  • wonder if i can trust this radio with my baja.

  • The 5b or 5T? We have one installed in ours and it works great.

  • How long can I operate this TX with 4*AA batteries?

I've heard some crazy numbers like 20+hours with 4*AA. That sounds crazy long.

    What is the real-world number?

  • I'm still on my original set of AA's so I couldn't tell you. I know that I get months out of the rechargeables I use in my DX3R.

  • will this radio compete with the dx3s

  • Well you have more sub-trim and tuning options with the DX3S along with the integrated telemetry too.

  • @warren1234ful1 no this only does one model

  • could i race a 1/8 buggy with this radio

  • Absolutely. It's a full-range surface receiver and can be used with any surface vehicle.

  • but he says ALL dsm2 recievers!

  • All DSM2 Surface Receivers
