Craziest thing about EVE is that shit like that can actually happen.

You can damn near lock up a whole system, you can use the right ships to completly lock up players and pretty much hold them hostage, and you can use 1 ship to rightfully blast through all of that :-D

No, each ship is pre-made. However, all the modules (armor plating, guns, missile launchers, afterburners, etc.) are seperately sold, so you can fit the ship for whatever you want.

I think one of the most powerful moments of this movie was the two frigates duking it out, with Clear Skies getting hammered as it slowly turns in the background. I can't explain why, I just find that scene particularly epic.

there is a14 day trial of eve that you can dl for free if you wanna try it - although it can get a bit boring when you are by yourself so feel free to look me up ingame if you do decide to trial it

Well, ship environments could mean BOARDING OPERATIONS. :D Down their shields, attach a boarding pod against the hull, cut through it, and start shooting. ;)

@rfry you are right there pod pilots are the elite of the elite of the elite.

They are sometimes even referred to as demigods.

there are about 300.000 pod pilots and I think 100's of millions normal pilots (think of the rats we kill everyday).

Also I sometimes see a npc transport near a station I guess that are normal pilots too.

btw. if a pod pilot could get a clone avatar like in "avatar" only a clone of his self. He could walk around in his ship still being immortal. Would be awesome!

no, although the devs are planning to eventually implement walking around in-station. According to the game's lore, all the players are actually cybernetically connected to their ship systems, but I think we can forgive the people who made clear skies for that small breach in canon!
