Maybe someone here can help me. I keep getting an error when I try to join a server. It either say's i don't have the map or I have a different version. Someone please help this game looks amazing!
well you ppl should link the download links for client and client patch to all your friends to fill the game again and tell those friends to tell it their friends and so on.

I thought when this game came out the game community had iterated on CS. That this would become the competitive fps of the future. The therm-optic camo gave it a dimension and tactical depth that CS didn't have. And it all fell apart. I don't understand completely how it happened. But the basic gripe seemed to be that support was too powerful, but it seemed to me as if there were too many playing assault and not enough getting good at playing recon, the character that could beat support.
Ima set up a date and post it all around the place so lots of people can play this again some day in the future. Maybe a week from now at some time. Thumbs up if ull do that same

@KyrisTV People are currently playing on the Agiel's NT server (46.59.39.199:27015), starting at around 8:30 p.m. GMT+1. You must have the latest patch installed to play (you can get it on the official site).
Yeah. You need the patch that was released a few years ago though. There's also been rumours of a new patch for several months, but no release date of any sort has been announced so far. The community is pretty small, but it's possible to get games running almost every day. We might even get multiple servers crowded on weekends. steamcommunitycom/groups/ANPA tends to post announcement on those peaks, if you're interested.
Really now - out of all the mods out there, this seems to be one of the hardest worked on. Heck - This should be on sale, it's that good. The maps, art style and textures are some of my favorites to say the least.

@eric010101000 It's not completely abandoned, we usually get pretty good amount of players around 5-10pm Pacific time. Just last month we had 30 players in the updated NDC server!
its a really good game but last thing i heard was the creator(s) split and will not release the program codeing n stuff meaning its dead in the water.
Dystopia is like this and is an amazing game too a little like NT but you get cyberspace too.

Whats prohibiting this from ever reaching Steam are the numerous copyright infractions. Such as the use of several car manufacture logos, including Honda and Toyota, not to mention the use of the source material, namely Ghost in the Shell, without any permission. I'm not saying I don't want to see it on Steam, I'm just saying it'll never see it.
This game lead me to Ed Harrison. Great trailers like these (Zombie Panic Source included) show off so much effort and inspiration that not even a lot of better known games have. To me, those two mods are more gripping than Half-Life ever has been :L
It was probably the most fun to playtest before it was released, after that, people ruined the game, really bad. They did such an amazing job on this game, and getting to be a playtester for it was the best feeling in the world.
The developers are working on it and playtesting and all the problems will be fixed soon. We still have an awesome active community, We don't even have problems filling servers anymore but if you're interested in some games join the Active Neotokyo Players group on Steam!

So any game that has licenced a 3rd party engine, such as Unreal Engine, for their use isn't actually a game? I'm not quite convinced with this definition.
Look at mod, if not convinced try agian. Valve also clearly released mods a long time ago and some of them are even better then Neotokyo and they aren't "games".
They are using the Source Engine according to Valve's licences, just like any other developer out there. The fact that it's free doesn't change anything. I just can't understand your mindset of game modifications not being games. We might be arguing semantics here, though.

Considering the amount of time and money spent on this game, (they have their own soundtrack), I'm so surprised that it is not featured on Steam. Games like Smashball do NOT deserve to be featured.

@x16leon What more could I ask for?!? For example a useful vision mode for recon? Also smaller maps as there never was 24 players so the gameplay was mostly about who got lucky and walked into an enemy from behind.
And i haven't even talked about how overpowered assault was. Explosive grenades, the best vision for seeing invisible players, sprint AND the best sniper rifle? And then recon mostly can't kill a support with a whole clip? That's just flawed design!

Regarding recon, night vision is used in vents. They were not meant to run straight on and fire on support. Hit-and-run tactics buddy. It takes more strategy than you think. Assault can sprint and have strong rifles....because...they are are ASSAULT? lol

And that the night vision would work in vents? That's just ridiculous as they made invisible players in vent completely invisible.

And if you say i haven't played it: I played on those last servers and all good players played assault. All of them.
@madichelp0Recon is fine, they have a great mobility advantage and that is what makes them very dangerous to all other classes, especially when they get their hands on a shotgun. if you just run straight into a class designed to balance the recons great mobility and stealth, you are just asking to be shot in the face. Flank and ambush, recon is not made for face-to-face combat.
supports vision is good for general overview and allows you to cover the teams advance. hence, they support.
@nycaloth So what if a recon can do "flanking"? You sound like you never have played a competitive fps game but instead is talking out of some single player game where the opponents are stupid!
Now if a recon is up against an assault, the recon will glow so much even if the recon cloaks, HOWEVER the recon have no equipment for seeing the cloaked assault. The recons speed has no value as ones aim can easily follow it's movement.

@terorvlad NEOTOKYOº is not on steam because it uses the old version of the Source SDK. That's why you can find a lot of relatively shitty mods (compared to this) but cant see this
@jimgb934 ZombiePanicSource uses Source Engine 2007 and it's still available via steam, without going to the homepage, download the install, download patches...
Whatever happened to the dev team? They need to make something else - single player preferably, because that won't ever die - in the same setting! This setting is awesome! It takes all the good bits from Ghost in the Shell and Akira and others and leaves out the daft bits! It's the best science fiction/speculative fiction setting I've ever seen in a game!
@xxxyowmaxxx I disovered it on time and had lots of fun with it. However its their own fault that it died. It had only one game-mode which was pretty hardcore, there weren't any respawns. I can see how newbies might be scared away.
It's still sad though, it had one of the best settings and visual style I've ever seen in a game. And I agree with terorvlad, if this was featured on steam or if the devs would create a new update with more gamemodes, that would launch this game back into action.
@Advancedgod Counter-strike only comes with one game mode that has no respawns and is relatively hardcore, but it's still one of the top 5 most played online games.
The game is usually played during friday evenings, 8PM CET. Hop on sometimes!

Instal it and join, you can save the community and give it a second life. And I don't have to say, that the game is great and worth playing.

the game had a great concept but lack of developer support and some really frustrating problems early in the game didn't do the great design justice.
being a mod it didn't have that big of an audience, and it was also very tactical so the odds were against.
I played for about 3-4 months after it's release and watched from it's huge popularity to basically nothing. :(

They are using the Source Engine according to Valve's licences, just like any other developer out there. The fact that it's free doesn't change anything. I just can't understand your mindset of game modifications not being games. We might be arguing semantics here, though.

Considering the amount of time and money spent on this game, (they have their own soundtrack), I'm so surprised that it is not featured on Steam. Games like Smashball do NOT deserve to be featured.

Also, the game has WAY to boring gameplay, and it was the reason it failed in the first place. A bomb gamemode would have made it a lot better than it is now. Also, the game was balanced around too many players, i think it was 24, but i say it should be 6 to12 players...

@x16leon What more could I ask for?!? For example a useful vision mode for recon? Also smaller maps as there never was 24 players so the gameplay was mostly about who got lucky and walked into an enemy from behind.
And i haven't even talked about how overpowered assault was. Explosive grenades, the best vision for seeing invisible players, sprint AND the best sniper rifle? And then recon mostly can't kill a support with a whole clip? That's just flawed design!

Regarding recon, night vision is used in vents. They were not meant to run straight on and fire on support. Hit-and-run tactics buddy. It takes more strategy than you think. Assault can sprint and have strong rifles....because...they are are ASSAULT? lol

@x16leon Yea i confused gameplay with balance :/ Still, recons were litteraly useless. When i picked them, it wasn't because i liked the jump, it was because i wanted a challenge. And that the night vision would work in vents? That's just ridiculous as they made invisible players in vent completely invisible.
Recon was shit. Support wasn't support. There is no excuse for it.
And if you say i haven't played it: I played on those last servers and all good players played assault. All of them.

@madichelp0Recon is fine, they have a great mobility advantage and that is what makes them very dangerous to all other classes, especially when they get their hands on a shotgun. if you just run straight into a class designed to balance the recons great mobility and stealth, you are just asking to be shot in the face. Flank and ambush, recon is not made for face-to-face combat.
supports vision is good for general overview and allows you to cover the teams advance. hence, they support.

@nycaloth So what if a recon can do "flanking"? You sound like you never have played a competitive fps game but instead is talking out of some single player game where the opponents are stupid!
Now if a recon is up against an assault, the recon will glow so much even if the recon cloaks, HOWEVER the recon have no equipment for seeing the cloaked assault. The recons speed has no value as ones aim can easily follow it's movement.
Have you ever even played cs 1.6 pcw or alike in competitiveness?

Whatever happened to the dev team? They need to make something else - single player preferably, because that won't ever die - in the same setting! This setting is awesome! It takes all the good bits from Ghost in the Shell and Akira and others and leaves out the daft bits! It's the best science fiction/speculative fiction setting I've ever seen in a game!

@xxxyowmaxxx I disovered it on time and had lots of fun with it. However its their own fault that it died. It had only one game-mode which was pretty hardcore, there weren't any respawns. I can see how newbies might be scared away.
It's still sad though, it had one of the best settings and visual style I've ever seen in a game. And I agree with terorvlad, if this was featured on steam or if the devs would create a new update with more gamemodes, that would launch this game back into action.
