Paul will always say the the Style Council was not exactly the best idea he came up with but this rendition has quite alot of bite to it. Kinda makes me appreciate it more
A great modern rendition. I have to admit that I prefer his voice when he was younger- it had a more' velvet' edge. His voice now is hardened by age and years of ciggies- there is a certain 'rock' inflection that wasn't there before - It has a lot of character and depth but as to whether he sounds better I guess is a matter of personal taste.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful...excellent display of genius, musicianship and soul. In very HD like the person's name who posted this video describes...what? I don't know it's 2:30 AM and i cannot sleep...ha. LOL, nothing like a little Style Council Alums to chill out with. I wonder if my neighbours are diggin my drums at this wee hour? OH WELL, GO BACK TO SLEEP...HA. Buenos Tacos Amigos...zzzzzz ----------->we're still rockin' at midnight<--------HoW rAnDom ;))
@JoeGancher Oh, "nice tune" huh... like oh just kinda average decent stuff change of pace from homepage junk on YouTube, huh? ... What's with you armchair experts on everything? It;s a frikkin brilliant song, hasn't lost an ounce of its brash, harmonics & drive. But you know best, Joe. What amazes me is Paul Weller is so focused on every single thing he does; here, as though he's playing it for 1st time... Yeah, he can't hit the falsetto highs he used to sing throughout, but what you get is
@quicksite (2) .. a really deep-souled rendition, with 100% solid production values, tight brass, percussion, bass, keyboards, his guitar --- and his in-the-pocket singing.
Such a knowless jerk in the face of a master. He never stops. He may rest but what is your problem -- you want studio tracks, go frikkin buy a CD & STFU. Awesome performance -- & you know this drummer's been with him for years and years. A number of the band have. You think anyone there was coasting, for your "nice tune"?
"What went wrong?" Paul Weller´s midlife crisis and a bit of too much adoration and kudos...he just need him to tell him that the king has no clothes. I Love PW dearly ..he´s my older brother i never had but did and as he himself said " I may get it wrong sometimes but i come back in STYLE!" @CHHSE1986 it's Damon Minchella from Ocean Colour Scene, so I doubt that very much

Nice tune but it really is missing that superb soprano background vocal.

@braddyboy82 I missed the Paul Weller from the Style Council Era of his life. He seemed like he was at a prime then.
