The episode is pretty good, I thought. It is pretty loosely based off of the comic book, Vault of Horror #35, March 1954. A few interesting notes, Gains County is named after William Gains, he took over EC when his father died. Mrs. Kamen was named after an EC artist, Jack Kamen and so was Sgt. Feldstein after Al Feldstein.
They totally did this wrong. In the comic book the big surprise twist at the end was when the girl revealed that she let Santa in. Here, they are giving it away too early.

They totally did this wrong. In the comic book the big surprise twist at the end was when the girl revealed that she let Santa in. Here, they are giving it away too early.

she's one stupid biotch. first of all, she jabbed him right in the head with that thing so obviously you'd need to get rid of that burner. put it near the crazy santa and at least rub his fingers on them. second, that axe has traces of blood from the crazy guy so there's no way to make it seem credible that the escaped psycho killed her husband because that would mean that maniac died before he killed her husband, which can't b true. and then she comes up with a stupid idea of hitting him w/the
