I did not like this movie. I know it's for kids but I think kids movies can be so much more mature and less ridiculous. I felt like I was being told to like the characters based on how they looked.
Movies like The Iron Giant, Antz, The Land Before Time, and Titan A.E. are kids movies, mature, but also know subtlety and character development. They don't rely on being "cute" and you find that you care about the characters anyways. It's not as easy as big googly eyes, but it can be done.
@andStack Are you serious? This isnt even a kids movie. It is meant to be enjoyed by everyone like all pixar movies are. Doesnt matter if youre 6 or 60. It can still make you laugh. Well it's not true he could have just sold his house, cause it has tremendous sentimental value.
It was the house his wife and him played explorer in when they were still kids and eventually bought it spend the bigger part of their life together in it.

They only thing I disagree with in this review is what the fro guy don`t know his name says about selling the house to get there in style.
1) That`s one of the major themes of the story is that he cared too much about the house as if it where his wife otherwise he would of taken the shady construction guys offer in the beginning.

This movie sucked monkey balls. It was so fucking incoherent. I could not care less about the end battle, because it was OVER AN ANNOYING BIRD THAT I WANTED TOO SEE DEAD ANYWAY. There was no reason for Carl to want to stop Muntz from taking away the fucking bird. Muntz was his hero, and Carl would've wanted him to amend his reputation by showing the bird to scientific community. Instead, Carl ends up FUCKING KILLING HIM! I personally say that the Toy Story trilogy is basically the lord of the rings trilogy for animated movies.

For example in the movie Tropic Thunder(if you haven't seen it I'll explain). @CENSOREDFORSEX I went to see Toy story 3. Me and my sister were the only kids in the theater. The audience consisted of Toy story fans in their late teens/ early 20's who grew up with Toy Story. Everyone left the theater with smiles on their faces squealing "Oh my God, that was freakin' awesome!" And, quite frankly, I agree with them.

@leauxbert That's how it was for me. I'm 20, and when I went to see Toy Story 3 the cinema was full of people of around my age, because we grew up with the original 2. We all loved it - including me. It's rare to find a trilogy where all 3 films are good.
Toy Story 3 is the standard bearer of what an animated film series ought to be!
I had LOW expectations for that film, but after watching it, I humbly put it along with Lord of the Rings (and a handful of others) as one of the best film trilogies made to date!

Anyways, the fact is kids did get this movie...they don't sell kids short like you do...my nephews got this movie and they are 6 and 8, right around the right age for a PG movie. But for now I think that I'd rather watch Inception,The Dark Knight,Up,and Toy Story 3 rather than having sex with some random hottie(who may or may not have an STD). So therefore these movies are better than sex.

@09tranm Yeah I get that. I'm a virgin too, but in my case I'd rather go on just a date with a hot guy than see a movie( though on a date it's likely you'd see a movie) lol. I get what you're saying though.

@09tranm Not really. They aren't comparable. You can compare Toy Story 3 with its previous installments, but just because its an animated feature created by Pixar, doesn't mean you should make a comparison between movies like Up or Wall-E.

@KayWildcat What are you talking about people compare movies all the time with different genres. For example someone I know who reviewed Toy Story 3 compared it with Iron Man 2 and said it was alot better. I personally say that the Toy Story trilogy is basically the lord of the rings trilogy for animated movies.
Now when I said Toy Story 3 was better than "Up" that was merely my opinion. If you say you like "Up" better that's fine with me(Up is an AMAZING movie too).

I respect your opinion, but evern the comparison between Toy Story Trilogy and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy is just plain weird. But I must say when I saw Toy Stoy 3, it was EPIC!!

@KayWildcat DUDE chill out it's not a crime to compare movies. In fact comparing movies let me know what movies are great and what movies aren't. For example in the movie Tropic Thunder(if you haven't seen it I'll explain). These people in a village have only seen one movie in their life and think that it's the best ever when in fact it's actually one of the worst movies ever.
There's nothing wrong with comparing movies. Because without comparisons then we don't know which movies we like best

@KayWildcat P.S. if nobody compared any movies with each other then there would be no Oscars or anything of that sort. A lot of times the nominations at the Oscars have lots of different genres competing for best picture.
You shouldn't shun people for comparing movies even from different genres.
If you like a movie more than another you compare them that's just human nature.
I liked Toy Story 3 more than "Up" so I compare them it's not a crime nor is it wrong.

@CENSOREDFORSEX I went to see Toy story 3. Me and my sister were the only kids in the theater. The audience consisted of Toy story fans in their late teens/ early 20's who grew up with Toy Story. Everyone left the theater with smiles on their faces squealing "Oh my God, that was freakin' awesome!" And, quite frankly, I agree with them.

@leauxbert That's how it was for me. I'm 20, and when I went to see Toy Story 3 the cinema was full of people of around my age, because we grew up with the original 2. We all loved it - including me. It's rare to find a trilogy where all 3 films are good.

Toy Story 3 is the standard bearer of what an animated film series ought to be!
I had LOW expectations for that film, but after watching it, I humbly put it along with Lord of the Rings (and a handful of others) as one of the best film trilogies made to date!

@CENSOREDFORSEX Up is better than Toy Story 3. For Toy Story 3 to truly be "epic" and satisfying, it requires watching the previous 2 for it be good. I watched Toy Story 3 without watching the previous two in years and Up doesn't need that, hence why, it's better.

I din't like this movie.
1. when he met his wife when they were kids and she jumped up next to him i jumped and it freakin scared me!
2. When she died it made me sad
This movie scared me and made me cry! i didn't like it for those reason.

Anyways, the fact is kids did get this movie...they don't sell kids short like you do...my nephews got this movie and they are 6 and 8, right around the right age for a PG movie. Most kids understand death and the good and bad guys and the reality of old age. This is a great movie with funny and meaningful parts all throughout it.
