  • At the end of my mother's life I was fighting against the process without guidance from anyone who had been through it and knew what to expect. At the very end, the nurse at the nursing home tried to help me to know what to expect but denial was so strong that I couldn't hear what she was saying.

My sister, brother-in-law and I have started a blog to support others who are feeling the stress of caregiving. DesperateCaregivers is a way to connect with others who are traveling the same path.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I am a caregiver for my husband, who is 39 years old with Korsakhov syndrome from severe alcoholism. I have no help, as all family and friends have shown their disgust from him as an alcoholic. I work full-time, and am finishing my master's degree. Sometimes I just don't think I can do this any more. I'm so exhausted physically and emotionally that I think I need to be hospitalized!

  • Hang in there, Neska! Caregiving can be most challenging. Know that you are deeply loved, and take very good care of yourself!

Many Blessings of Love and Light, Dancing heart~~~

  • Thank you! I am feeling much more balanced today. Yesterday I was about to crack.
