I've been at Tibetan settlements in India and there is no reason whatsoever to expect any violence. I've been at Tibetan settlements in India and there is no reason whatsoever to expect any violence. The situation in Tibet could be just like in those settlements: peaceful and a good cooperations between either Tibetans and Indies or Tibetans and Chinese. Beijing can makes this happen if they want it too.

There is no evidence of genocide in Tibet and many of the human rights abuses blamed solely on the Chinese were in fact carried out by Tibetan red guards who embraced

Kruitvat To be fair although Tibet was feudal under the Dalai Lama's rule many country's were feudal at one time or another. The human rights records of the government in exile (slavery, racism, caste system, torture and murder) is no better than that of the Chinese government during the cultural revolution. The Chinese government have improved and so has the Tibetan government in exile. The Chinese currently have a dictatorship and so have the Tibetan's in exile. Both sides are reforming.

Most of the 'Free Tibet' groups are funded by the US government and the powerful lobbyists are responsible for the one sided western media coverage. However the USA aren't helping the Tibetans because they care about people (Iraq, Afganistan etc)they want control of Tibet themselves. The Dalai lama is in a fix as the USA created his saintly image and can destroy it at any time with the truth.
