lmao omfg f1 usa team... lets see how often their stupid cars will break down during races and lets see how many teams they pay to use the engineering designs
Jeff Gordon drives F1 Car - Montoya drives #24 mr nascar has no talent or sense of direction..... Jeff gordon was 1 second on F1 min time to drive in 1 day of practice in the car. Montoya went nascar from F1 F1 is 90% car 10% driver nascar is 50% driver and 40% car and 10% luck
You know i just hope we actually do something instead of just running our mouth. Their are tons of people in the states that Love every other form of racing. Believe me Nascar Doesn't represent all of us. And the last time i checked I remember a certain American team that is faster then Ferrari..... I just really hope We do as well here, as we have in the GT series. I'm Acually Excited for our own home grown F1. Still think we're going about it the wrong way, but never the less i'm excited.
gee, with the lap times of the new teams this year, USF1, in hindsight could have run a GP2 and been competitive (Bruno Senna said his laps times around Monaco in a GP2 car last year were faster than his HRT car) ... amazing!
Way to make us "proud" guys...And I used to think that Andrea Moda & Lola fucked up! But at least they got cars to the grid...So what's these people's excuse?
I think a lot of people would be interested to see a new US GP - apparently it could be a Las Vegas Street Circuit or something like that.
But the truth is, any F1 fan or FIA employee who has to travel to the US for a race, runs the risk of being treated like dirt and thrown in a prison camp for the rest of their life for doing nothing - because America is the Fourth Reich.
I for one am never going back to the US unless they sort their country out and take power back from the cunts.
NASCAR is as viable as any other form of motorsport. Ask JPM. This is an embarrassing situation, but it has nothing to do w/NASCAR. You talk like a man w/a paper ass and a pack of matches. You have probably never sat foot or your ass in a race car, so you have no idea what you are talking about. If you did, you wouldn't be spouting this superfluous bullshit.
Right on brother!!! IM so FUK*&G sick of these f1 fans bashing USA and telling us we dont know what real racing is? WTFE? If their so bad why is it when we wreak we hit a concrete wall at 230 mph in the indy 500 and when they wreak most of the time they hit tires and Kitty litter traps?
Your an idiot, do you know anything about race cars, Both USA Indy cars and F1 cars have sequential gear boxes, which primarily means you dont have to push in a clutch to change gears, F1 just changes gears on steering wheel, that doesnt take much talent!!!
Anybody remember the Lola f1 team that lasted three races back in 98? or the Adre Moda f1 team back in 92 that could not even run a car in the Friday or Saturday practices for lack of funds. No Americans on either of them.
This has got to be the most pity full comment ever.... " We kicked ur ASS in the Olympics!"..... ROFLMFAO; It's not only F1 fans bashing at you rednecks... It's everybody that KNOWS that if this "team" EVER manages to get going, it will be a complete and utter FAILURE just like everything you guys make with 4 wheels... Seriously... your cars are JOKES just as this F1 team.... it was a joke since the beginning.
way to go USF1, make your selves look like an ass in front of the entire world, unlike gay ass NASCAR this sport is world wide and not anyone can jump in... way to go you f'n morons and your dumb ass politics!!! They just announced your team is out of the run and because of this blunder next year there will be a rule to get in aonther team who wants to be there!
@tjbayliss we belong as much as anybody! there are a lot of F1 fans here in the states that have as much passion for the sport as anyone in any country. We have had nine different cities in our country host F1GP races. We love the sport and we want to be there. F1 is the echelon of Motorsports. It is not a cake walk to create a team.
nobody actually belongs there, you make it sound like a rights issue, your onlt there if you can put forward a good enough package end of, cart, indy, nascar, try participating on a shoestring budget there and when you cant get in then read riot act about having right to be there, if your package aint good enuf in any sport your team nt goin anywhere, id like to see a us team take part, for now tho they aint got intrest enuf to have pulling power, on eday maybe and hopefully soonish will do fine
Yeah... he's ITALIAN / American Right???? Oh that's right... EVERYBODY in the USA got there on a boat and stole the country from the indians.... and now they have the "balls" to put up a wall and limit who goes into the country... DUMBASSES...
F1 is the pinnacle of racing and engineering... USA shouldn't be a part of it cause it would ruin the sport further.
@sinner2208 Why did it take you 10 months to get back to me? Couldnt stop jerking off long enough to type? And the point about the concrete walls is that your pampered asses dont have THE balls to race on a track where you would hit concrete and not kitty litter, i dont wish for anyone to get hurt or die fukface! And about Indy being the best, again do a little research and look how many foreigners won or tried to win it form Luyendyk to Brack to Jim Clark! On monday everyone knows who won INDY!
You really ARE a dumb fuck... i saw this video 2 days ago you MORON... BALLS driving with a wall??? Try driving and turning the wheel both ways and having the risk of getting airborne if you rub wheel to wheel.. THOSE are balls. You are just plain ignorant and are trying to defend something that can't be defended.
Foreigners (that takes some balls coming from a pilgrim redneck) CAME AND BEAT YOUR ASSES AT THE "GREATEST" race..... MORON....
@sinner2208 Remember Americans are part of F1 now...not a big part, but part of it. From parts like brake pads, to Cosworth's American connection, to sponsors like "AT&T" Williams - there is an American presense. It's not big but it's there. Seems like you would want more teams, drivers, sponsors, races and parts suppliers....even American ones. That means more media coverage, more races, more money which should mean more money and better races for all. Isn't that the point????
TJ i in part think your wrong, but after this foolish ass example of rednecks and retards with money trying to create an F1 team then jump it up with hype, hell we will be lucky enough if we can get in with any other American team. CRV got a point bro, a lot of us love this sport! FUCK NASCAR...
NASCAR came about from running away from the cops during proabition here in the states... But the glory days of when we did host F1 is more the reason to why Im so pissed at USF1 for doing what they did.....
F1 here in the states again after so long would open up so much more oppertunity and bring back a lot more business... sponorships... and ellement of crowds.. There is a lot of us here who can't stand circle racing..
I am so fukin sick of you ASSHOLE F1 fans Bashing USA NOT ALL RACEFANS ARE REDNECKS AND RETARDS over here DICK!!! Like i said in another post, if youall are so badass why is it we go 230 mph and hit a concrete wall when we wreak, when F1 pussies wreak they hit a tire barrier and Kitty litter trap!!!
@trep1911 Trep!!!!!!!!!!! I am a born and raised US resident, spell check brah! shit works wonders when your insulting people on some shit your obviously stuck on... count ya teeth and stay in school.. shit or least go back and graduate... dumb ass
What difference does it make what they hit?? See how retarded you americans are?? "Oh.. when we hit, we like to do it big.. that's why we preffer a concrete wall..." AGAIN... DUMBASSES... I'd rather do 200 mp/h and get caught in a trap or hit tires and LIVE TO RACE ANOTHER DAY... rather than hit a CONCRETE WALL and say...: "WOW.. HE WENT OUT LIKE A "MAN"...." ( a DEAD, STUPID, BRAINDEAD MAN) Just goes to show how dumb your way of thinking is...
HAHA ... to support ? WHAT .... you are bankrupt ! USF1 wants to start season in Barcelona with round 4 ...
USF1 will NEVER apear on the grind. In 2010 or ever after. Its a shame for the sport that they give entry to such a crap team without no background.... Lola and Prodrive where WAY beyond USF1. And your factory is ON SALE ... ROTFL !!!
Chad Hurley should be exiled from the U.S. and Youtube Should be boycotted for him backing out of this deal and not being good to his word. What a scum bag.
I think he backed out because he saw no progress whatsoever - no sponsors , no complete car and now no drivers; I don't blame him for leaving - the whole thing is laughable
USF1 ain't showin' up on the grid, buddy. Not with no management, no money, little engineering talent, and one Argentinian pay-driver. YouTube is already talkin' about jumpin' from one sinking ship to another, the Campos team.
This whole deal really never had any "meat" to it from the very beginning.
Besides, what's with all the Indycar and NASCAR shots? The only F1 cars I see in the vid are a couple of old Ligiers (the blue cars with "LOTO" sponsorship, for the uninitiated).
Yes, Jeff Gordon or even Kyle Busch could be quite fast, but they would have to get super liscences which they don't have and may not want to because of the tremendous cost involved. I think it was J.P.M. and Gordon who switched cars one day. I can't remember if it was the Williams or the McClaren.
@superanium it was ralph schumacher that switched with jeff gordon and it was the williams bmw. if i remember correctly it the FW24 or 23? jeff 1/2 a second of the poll! usf1 should consider him, along with JPM scott speed and a few others
It will be very interesting to see how the American team can hold up with the Europeans.2 worlds and different aproaches to motorsport will compare in 2010
Mclaren & Microsoft supply standard ECU for all teams 2008-10. The team can adjust some parameters if my memory serves me right. Thats why I said British ECU.
Every single F1 part is made by Ferrari in Modena? I dont believe that!
EVERY company uses suppliers for smaller parts & there is no disgrace in doing that. Ferrari has used American Delphi supplied HVAC systems, MagneRide shocks & electrical systems for their road cars like 599 GTB & 458. But they are still Ferraris
" first factory in the world. What are you talking about? F1 teams change between Brembo, Hitco, & CI brakes for diifferent tracks or driver feel.
I would think you'd want more countries involved in F1 - it means better races, more teams, more cars, more money, more publicity and a better series in the end.
Can't you put aside your anti-American attitude and just look forward to the 2010 season?
Seems like F1 fans would agree on the basics, but their anit-American attitude gets in the way.
Whether or not an American team shows up the series beneifts in the end. But they can't seem to see that. They still have the Eurpean world view of 1600 when they believed everything revolved them. Times have changed.......
So what if a F1 Ferrari has a American brake part or a Japanese tire or a British ECU on it. It doesn't make the car "less Italian".
I'm gald Ferrari build it's own car and engine. I wish the rules were stricter on that and all the teams has to do more like that. I don't want a spec series where the cars are all the same with customers engines. that's not F1 to me!!!
I remember when there were Ford V8s, Renault V10s and Ferrari V12s racing. That was the best too me!
SO WHAT!!! Do a little research roby, ever hear of the best and biggest race ever, THE INDY 500!!! first one in 1911! Indy racing originated in USA!!!
OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! BEST RACE EVER???? You should be put down and out of your misery... MILLE MIGLIA IS/WAS the best race EVER.... a testament of ENDURANCE, RELIABILITY AND STRATEGY and not to mention BALLS.... seriously TREP1911... you are the poster boy for the true american REDNECK....
@sinner2208 HEY FUCKFACE! Do a little research and see that more of our cars went airborn last year in the Indy car series from touching wheels than your pussy ass computer driven cars! You dont even know what your talking about, we go airborn all the time! Stop wasting your time writing me you fukin HATER!!!
Geez... and how proud you must be that you sure know how to crash!!! And I'm amazed that you can't post a reply without swearing... Get over it REDNECK... Think about what you say, you are actually GLORIFYING the fact that you have more crashes, may it be NASCAR or INDY... Where is the fun in that?? Only a TRUE REDNECK could enjoy watching cars going 'round and 'round waiting for a crash.... seriously, THAT is just plain stupid... enjoy your moonshine buddy...
mas vale que os lo curreis porque la f1 no es la indy,en la f1 no se dan vueltas a un circulo, en la f1 necesitareis la mejor tecnologia y los mejores pilotos,si no vais a oler rueda quemada nada mas
Why all the hate for Americans?!? Sure, I have very little confidence in USF1 or USGPE or whatever they're calling themselves these days, but that doesn't mean it's America's fault (Note:Peter Windsor is British). I'm sure Ganassi Racing or Penske Racing would make a decent showing.
But it is a dam shame that with all the american technology and experience with racing its taken so long for a team from the US to comeback to F1 F1 is about money Penske and Ganassi can't afford to be competitive. I think USF1 will end up like Toyota but I hope they do well.
@PATTYZ102 of course it will but Mclaren started somewhere and so will USF1 but I hope USF1 dosent start a trend that will direct F1 towards somthing like A1GP.
@PATTYZ102 Yes, so will the other new teams. Brawn & Redbull dominated the 09 season, so being beaten by them won't be surprising. USF1 must set reasonable goals, like to be the best NEW team, and then later be better than Force India or Toro Roso.
That is not the mentality of the Americans. They want to be #1 from the get-go. That's why FORD MOTOR COMPANY wanted to buy FERRARI when ENZO was in money problems. And Enzo being the visionary that he was, REFUSED to sell to them because they would end up "milking the cow till dead" and then just throw away the bones. Just as they do with their companies. Enzo preffered to go back to FIAT and ask them for partnership (big blow to pride right there) but at least FERRARI STILL STANDS
@sinner2208 Everybody wants to be #1, that's why they're racing! Honda/Toyota quit because racing for 14th sucked after spending millions. They didn't want to keep waiting. Yes I know the story - he agreed to a deal but then wanted to keep the racing team & leave the road cars to Ford. Ford said no - it's all or nothing. So what? I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to sell out either. But I don't think he was a visonary for it, he was just being pragmatic. He knew the two worked best together.
I totally agree that everybody races to be #1 BUT, you have to pay your dues... Look at redbull... 6 seasons and they're champs (fuckers... lol). You can't expect to come to a sport in which you will be NEWBS and come with the arrogant style thinking that you will dominate. THAT is what most people hate about the US.
That aside, everybody associates your domestic car "quality" to anything with 4 wheels, maybe that's where the bashing is coming from, face it, US cars SUCK big time.
@sinner2208 If you want arrogance then look back to BAR - they had more than anyone! They acted as though the championship was already won, but they found out otherwise! Sure it's best to have teams & drivers suffer from defeats so they can appreciate the wins. Part of it may be they present too much confidence to the outside world - nobody wants others to know your weaknesses. Behind the scenes they are probably worried. Look at the new teams - big talk but they are moving chicanes.
@sinner2208 Not sure why you brought this up but you forgot we've had many Euro cars that came here only to leave with lousy reputations. Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Alfa, Sterling, Rover etc all pulled out because they couldn't cut it. Most recent studies I've seen have US cars equal Japanese/Euro cars. Not saying ours are the best in every category but the big quality gaps from many yrs ago are gone. Look at them you'll see huge improvements. Toyotas recent recalls show no car company is perfect.
I wouldn't go so far as to say you've equaled euro or jap quality but you've definitely have come a long way.
I got a question for you... You mentioned the Toyota recall...don't you find it strange that it's basically the first recall that toyota has ever had (as far as i remember, i may be wrong) and the car was made in the US... 100% japanese Toyotas NEVER have had any problems with them. Now the question: How many recalls have AMERICAN cars had? Whatever manufacturer it may be?
@sinner2208 Based on the studies I read we have. Equalling Euro cars isn't that big - Jaguar & Land Rover still have just avg ratings. Sometimes magazines that test them have problems w/ some expensive Jags. VW & Mercedes had poor reliability ratings a few years ago, but they have gotten better. Let's not forget British electrics - people still laugh at Lucas electrics going out. Many jokes about them today- another reason why many Brit cars failed here. I won't even mention the French cars.
@sinner2208 It isn't the first recall of Toyotas. What was so striking is the huge number they recalled & are still recalling. Vehicles included both imported & US assembled. The Prius is from Japan and they were recalled too. The US/Canadian content on cars assembled here isn't 100% - lots of japanese parts like engines & transmissons. All car co's recall cars - none are perfect. Every one has a service dept to fix problems. Not sure why you want to cover this in a discussion of F1 anyway???
@sinner2208 Seems like euro car companies are still getting subsidies to keep sales up - wonder how well they'll do when they have to compete with asian companies on level ground? No market share limits and government backing to keep the lousy companies afloat (esp like the french ones). Add in the strength of the latest korean models in europe and once the chinese get going there, the euro companies are toast. Guess we're done with the F1 dsicussion.
Very interesting points... But just to throw this out there... i mentioned the toyota thing because the workers putting them together are either AMERICAN or CANADIAN... And about the PRIUS, hey, it's an hybrid, relatively new ground for everybody and i bet that whoever the jap was that screwed up on it, is not working for toyota anymore!! lmao!
@sinner2208 Yes their the same American workers who put together BMWs, Mecedes-Benzs and soon VWs. The BMWs assembled in SC have a great reputation from what I have read - just as good as German models. What about the euro workers that sent us lousy jaguars, peugeots, fiats, and renaults? It's the second gen Prius so there shouldn't be any problems. Toyota got complacent or lazy and let things slide. All companies can have recalls - no workers, cars or campanies are perfect.
About the F1 which was the main topic.... it's like beating on a dead horse... I just think that the US would have there asses handed right back to them on a platter if they decide to enter F1. You must know the level of preparation that is required and to start from scratch would just be suicide.
@sinner2208 So stop beating it! EVERY new team struggles - larousse, jordan, prost, forti, tyrrell, simtek, pacific, bar, and yes toyota & honda. They're all gone because they couldn't make it. Either they pulled out or got bought out - weren't good enough. Even established teams like williams, sauber, force india & mercedes had a dissapointing 2010 season. A US team would be no different from virgin, lotus, hispania - all new teams stuggle early on. I'm sure they'll get better in a few years.
@sinner2208 Look at 2010 stats for points: lotus 0 pts, hispania 0 pts & virgin 0 pts. They're at the bottom in completed laps, no poles, no victories etc. I'd say that's "getting their asses handed right back to them on a platter". Look at virgin, fuel tank was too small. They spent millions of euros to find out when the season starts it's too small? You're right....the euro teams really know how to handle F1!! Been watching since 91, I've seen the ups & downs ALL teams have - even Ferrari.
I agree with most of it but the thing is that those mentioned teams were fighting with each other. Not directly with the front runners. That's what USF1 would have to expect if they EVER where to make it to the show!
I think lotus will have a podium this year with REANULT power behind them.
@sinner2208 Sure all new teams fight to NOT be last! None have a chance against the front runners. An American team would race againist lotus virgin hispania at 1st, then later try to move up at fight the mid pack teams in a few yrs. Agreed - each new team struggles with budgets, no testing, sponsors and getting talent. USF1 would have had the same issues had they made it to the grid. That's my main point - an American team wouldn't really be any worse or better than the other new teams.
Virgin is too experimental. They are obsessed with CAD their car. That's why the tank was too small. Hispania is a Spanish team, and are working with a VERY limited budget. I would even go so far as saying they have the smallest budget.
We'll just have to wait and see if my predictions are wrong.
@sinner2208 All teams are a blend of nationalities to some degree - even Ferrari has Italians, Brits, Spaniards, & Brazlians etc working together to win. USF1 would have had to get guys who have F1 experience whether they were Americans or not. Too bad it failed...
Minardi struggled for yrs in F1- they say they achieved 90% of Ferrari's pace with 10% of their budget. At the time the budgets were $300 millon vs $30 millon. Always pulled for them to do well - getting pts was a victory too them!
@sinner2208 Look how many teams have been bought out over the years, it's just easier to buy a team and start out that way. It's not just Americans...it's any serious F1 competitor. Buying an established team just makes sense.
Unfortunately when I wrote my message I experienced what is known as a typo. But, it does seem that you are quite an idiot as well, due to the fact that in this situation it would be grammatically correct to spell it's with an apostrophe. Meaning your correction, is incorrect. I wont even mention that you capitalized the y in the second "you", or the lack of an apostrophe in the word "can't", or even the complete disregard of periods. So don't lecture me about grammar you illiterate retard.
Oh no, i will put every period and every comma where it belongs. And, i capitalize to get me point across, DDUUUHHH! Hey why dont F1 fans put a team in IRL or Nascar and see how you do? Explain to me how Juan has only won two races since he's been in the U.S.? Great F1 driver has been here for years and only won 2 races, RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the problem with the colonies these days. Constant inbreeding has left the common folk to think they know anything about anything. Its okay, I forgive your naiveness.
Going from F1 to IRL, NASCAR or any other retarded racing league in the US is like.... wearing ferragamo shoes and leaving them for some flip flops.... NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER. Seriously dude, THINK before you make such MORONIC and IDIOTIC comments. Once again... you should be put down and out of your misery.
Oh and BTW... MONTOYA was all balls and NO BRAIN... that's why he never hacked it in F1 and basically why doesn't win in OVALS!! LMAO!!!!
WOW! You think Your country still owns and rules us by calling us "colonies"? And your saying i have sex with my family? Done wasting my time with you DICK!
THEY TOOK OUR JOBS! This team is going to fail big time..... if it hasn't already! A part of me wants them to be on the grid though just to show themselves up as the arrogant pricks they've been!
im just joking yeah i know americans can do a formula 1 car look out the ford benetton in 1990's its really great car but the driver is a german named michael Schumacher hahaha:) but i still hoping that all the drivers and sponsors is from USA
Benetton is an italian team. The car was designed in Enstone, England. The engine was just paid by Ford but was designed by Cosworth in England. There wasn't a single bolt that was american designed on that car.
It was the Benetton-Ford not Ford Benetton you idiot.
@roby70juve America is in F1 through sponsors like (at&t, budwiser, hp, compaq, fedex, marlboro), supplied tires by Goodyear & owned teams too. Ford bought Stewart and named it Jaguar. Ford owned Cosworth briefly so they had access to Ford's resources from supercomputers to money.
Granted the American presence isn't as big as it should be. Perhaps an American team can help get some attention and change that. Most Americans never heard of F1. So some stories on the news might help.
@roby70juve The manufacturer owned teams wanted a US race again, since they sell so many cars here. Perhaps we would still have BMW, Honda & Toyota if there was a US race. They might feel that their large expenses could be justified with more American sales. Point is that while on the surface America does not have a big presence; US is still involved in the series.
Bernie seems to resist having races here seems he wants to race anywhere but the US! Its a shame.we would all benefit.
Yeah, I expect their learning curve will be steep. But I also expect they'll learn, and they'll receive considerable financial backing, partially because racing in the US has deteriorated (Imsa, Cart, Trans Am) and part because it'll be fun to kick everybody's, including Ferrari's, ass again like in the 60's. Think a few years ahead, Nix, and more quietly.
It's sad really that a F1 team will choose drivers because of their nationality instead of talent and encouragement of the sport. To let something so pathetic as national intrest go first is stupid in F1. Still that USF1 will have this goal I think everyone can understand but I think it will not last for very long.
McLaren and Brawn (that will be Mercedes during 2010) also moves in this direction for 2010 I think is bad also, they are just to big for doing this, F1 is not like that. Look at Ferrari, they have made it without an Italian driver for like 15 years. Skill and talent should come first in F1.
One thing I will say in favor of F1 though. What millions upon millions of fans will remember and talk about for decades are the battle between Ferrari & Renault for 2nd at the '79 French GP, Alonso holding off Schumi at Imola for 9 laps, Lewis vs Kimi at Spa '08 to name three. Those battles are known the world over & are remembered with deep hatred or overwhelming love. But they are known. What most people the world over know about NASCAR is the death of Dale Earnheart & lots of crashing
I would be willing to bet if you asked the average American if they knew the names Kimi or Alonso, or Spa or Imola, they wouldn't know what you were talking about. (Maybe they'd know Michael). And crashing and death? People still talk about Senna and Clark, and the countless other driver's who died in the early days. I'm not a nascar fan,but I know that it's not an international competition like F1 is. Of course more of the world is familiar with F1. And it is about time the US is too.
@unapparatus Im not sure if you were disagreeing with me or just throwing out your own thoughts on the subject but thanks for at least being a calm and cool fan of racing. Its so nice to talk & debate with people who can have their own opinion without spewing hate for someone who feels differently. And yes there has been tragedy in F1 but I have never heard of any legendary and world renown NASCAR battles that are talked about the world over. Maybe there are & Im just a boob.
What many people dont get on both sides of this debate is that racing is racing. Whether the driver is in the MP4-25, a "stock" car or on a tricycle he will push his machine as hard as he can. Granted Im a road course techno-snob and dont like American oval track racing its still good racing for many people.
But to criticize both extremes & being an American F1 fan I would say that F1 has too little passing and NASCAR has too much passing. Its dull when no one passes or when everyone passes
Been getting up to watch F1 races for going on 20 years now. what dont Americans "get" exactly? I dont like nascar except to follow JPM but the new car design was a huge deal, and the usf1 guys are the ones who did it.
As for tracks, Indy is the only track in the US that has the FIA needed rating to host an F1 race. Indy is not hosting because FOM simply wants to much money. Almost all the tracks have government funding writing off the income loss. yes the tracks LOSE money hosting an F1 race.
also i hate this shit about nascar and cart and irl being inferior to f1... balls to that. some americans dont get f1 so what, the majority of europeans dont get american series! f1 lacks one thing american series have...excitement and customer satisfaction! and i am not american, im irish! btw, what was the point of this video?
I don't know who could afford to build a facility anywhere close to the likes of what we saw in Abu Dhabi. A closed off road race is the best bet. I'm sure the logistics would never allow it, but a New York street circuit could be amazing.
@unapparatus Yeah I don't see anything happening in the US anytime soon or ever for that matter. It takes massive interest, funding & government support & that just isnt there in this country. They would have to do it from scratch and maybe like Suzuka make it a theme park as well.
The idea of an american team in F1 is nothing new.American teams like Eagle, Shadow and Penske have all won races in F1.There were other american teams too like Parnelli and Scarab, the only all-american F1 car.
Roger Penske did consider making a return to F1 in the late 90's but wanted to get back to the top in Indy first..
Chrysler considered paying for the development of better Lamborghini engines(owned by Chrysler back then) and brand them Chrysler, when McLaren wanted an engine for 1994
USF1 is a great addition to F1. If we like when Force India managed to take pole in Spa and almost winning it, it would be equally great to see USF1 score good points in its debut season.
If I was USF1 I'd sign Heidfeld. It's not likely Qadbak will be allowed to race as the 14'th team in 2010, so why not sign him? He has frequently outdriven his highly rated team mate Kubica and showed in Abu Dhabi he still can race fast enough.
Don't sign somebody like Danica Patrick or Pedro de la Rosa.
USF1 is going to be THE worst F1 team in history... Im betting my ballz into it, they may have the technology to build a decent car but they don't have the luxury of selecting the best amongst their pool of drivers...CREAM OF THE CRAP... so bad that one of their option is the wussy biatch Miss Danica HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
thank you setarcos you said exactly what I was thinking but I couldn't put it into words. as for you niggerjixxerwixxer, I am probably the only person you are annoying by writing your gay comments. I don't see you driving anything or doing well in anything. I race karts and I do well you can google my name and find #1 finishes
Skill-wise, Top-Notch American drivers are probably at par with B-Class German junior go-cart drivers , Sorry Americans, that's what your genes are made for...
Hiring American drivers for the sake of Patriotism is a BAD idea and will never be fruitful
lmao omfg f1 usa team... lets see how often their stupid cars will break down during races and lets see how many teams they pay to use the engineering designs

Still think we're going about it the wrong way, but never the less i'm excited.

gee, with the lap times of the new teams this year, USF1, in hindsight could have run a GP2 and been competitive (Bruno Senna said his laps times around Monaco in a GP2 car last year were faster than his HRT car) ... amazing!

@tjbayliss we belong as much as anybody! there are a lot of F1 fans here in the states that have as much passion for the sport as anyone in any country. nobody actually belongs there, you make it sound like a rights issue, your onlt there if you can put forward a good enough package end of, cart, indy, nascar, try participating on a shoestring budget there and when you cant get in then read riot act about having right to be there, if your package aint good enuf in any sport your team nt goin anywhere, id like to see a us team take part, for now tho they aint got intrest enuf to have pulling power, on eday maybe and hopefully soonish will do fine

Isn't that the point????
nashi55 1 year ago
TJ i in part think your wrong, but after this foolish ass example of rednecks and retards with money trying to create an F1 team then jump it up with hype, hell we will be lucky enough if we can get in with any other American team. CRV got a point bro, a lot of us love this sport! FUCK NASCAR...

NASCAR came about from running away from the cops during proabition here in the states... But the glory days of when we did host F1 is more the reason to why Im so pissed at USF1 for doing what they did.....

F1 teams change between Brembo, Hitco, & CI brakes for diifferent tracks or driver feel.

trep1911 1 year ago
Seems like F1 fans would agree on the basics, but their anit-American attitude gets in the way.
Whether or not an American team shows up the series beneifts in the end. But they can't seem to see that. They still have the Eurpean world view of 1600 when they believed everything revolved them. Times have changed.......
nashi55 1 year ago
I meant European.
nashi55 1 year ago
@roby70juve

V1t4m1nB 2 years ago
@V1t4m1nB Not everyone hates Americans bud!
But it is a dam shame that with all the american technology and experience with racing its taken so long for a team from the US to comeback to F1 F1 is about money Penske and Ganassi can't afford to be competitive. I think USF1 will end up like Toyota but I hope they do well.

PATTYZ102 2 years ago
@PATTYZ102 Yes, so will the other new teams. Brawn & Redbull dominated the 09 season, so being beaten by them won't be surprising. USF1 must set reasonable goals, like to be the best NEW team, and then later be better than Force India or Toro Roso.
nashi55 2 years ago
@nashi55
Enzo preffered to go back to FIAT and ask them for partnership (big blow to pride right there) but at least FERRARI STILL STANDS
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Everybody wants to be #1, that's why they're racing! Honda/Toyota quit because racing for 14th sucked after spending millions. They didn't want to keep waiting. Yes I know the story - he agreed to a deal but then wanted to keep the racing team & leave the road cars to Ford. Ford said no - it's all or nothing. So what? I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to sell out either. But I don't think he was a visonary for it, he was just being pragmatic. He knew the two worked best together.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
That aside, everybody associates your domestic car "quality" to anything with 4 wheels, maybe that's where the bashing is coming from, face it, US cars SUCK big time.
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 If you want arrogance then look back to BAR - they had more than anyone! They acted as though the championship was already won, but they found out otherwise! Sure it's best to have teams & drivers suffer from defeats so they can appreciate the wins. Part of it may be they present too much confidence to the outside world - nobody wants others to know your weaknesses. Behind the scenes they are probably worried. Look at the new teams - big talk but they are moving chicanes.
nashi55 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Not sure why you brought this up but you forgot we've had many Euro cars that came here only to leave with lousy reputations. Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, Alfa, Sterling, Rover etc all pulled out because they couldn't cut it. Most recent studies I've seen have US cars equal Japanese/Euro cars. Not saying ours are the best in every category but the big quality gaps from many yrs ago are gone. Look at them you'll see huge improvements. Toyotas recent recalls show no car company is perfect.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
Whatever manufacturer it may be?
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Based on the studies I read we have. Equalling Euro cars isn't that big - Jaguar & Land Rover still have just avg ratings. Sometimes magazines that test them have problems w/ some expensive Jags. VW & Mercedes had poor reliability ratings a few years ago, but they have gotten better. Let's not forget British electrics - people still laugh at Lucas electrics going out. Many jokes about them today- another reason why many Brit cars failed here. I won't even mention the French cars.
nashi55 1 year ago
@sinner2208 It isn't the first recall of Toyotas. What was so striking is the huge number they recalled & are still recalling. Vehicles included both imported & US assembled. The Prius is from Japan and they were recalled too. The US/Canadian content on cars assembled here isn't 100% - lots of japanese parts like engines & transmissons. All car co's recall cars - none are perfect. Every one has a service dept to fix problems. Not sure why you want to cover this in a discussion of F1 anyway???
nashi55 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Seems like euro car companies are still getting subsidies to keep sales up - wonder how well they'll do when they have to compete with asian companies on level ground? No market share limits and government backing to keep the lousy companies afloat (esp like the french ones). Add in the strength of the latest korean models in europe and once the chinese get going there, the euro companies are toast. Guess we're done with the F1 dsicussion.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
Very interesting points... But just to throw this out there... i mentioned the toyota thing because the workers putting them together are either AMERICAN or CANADIAN... And about the PRIUS, hey, it's an hybrid, relatively new ground for everybody and i bet that whoever the jap was that screwed up on it, is not working for toyota anymore!! lmao!
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Yes their the same American workers who put together BMWs, Mecedes-Benzs and soon VWs. The BMWs assembled in SC have a great reputation from what I have read - just as good as German models. What about the euro workers that sent us lousy jaguars, peugeots, fiats, and renaults? It's the second gen Prius so there shouldn't be any problems. Toyota got complacent or lazy and let things slide. All companies can have recalls - no workers, cars or campanies are perfect.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
About the F1 which was the main topic.... it's like beating on a dead horse... I just think that the US would have there asses handed right back to them on a platter if they decide to enter F1. You must know the level of preparation that is required and to start from scratch would just be suicide.
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 So stop beating it! EVERY new team struggles - larousse, jordan, prost, forti, tyrrell, simtek, pacific, bar, and yes toyota & honda. They're all gone because they couldn't make it. Either they pulled out or got bought out - weren't good enough. Even established teams like williams, sauber, force india & mercedes had a dissapointing 2010 season. A US team would be no different from virgin, lotus, hispania - all new teams stuggle early on. I'm sure they'll get better in a few years.
nashi55 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Look at 2010 stats for points: lotus 0 pts, hispania 0 pts & virgin 0 pts. They're at the bottom in completed laps, no poles, no victories etc. I'd say that's "getting their asses handed right back to them on a platter". Look at virgin, fuel tank was too small. They spent millions of euros to find out when the season starts it's too small? You're right....the euro teams really know how to handle F1!! Been watching since 91, I've seen the ups & downs ALL teams have - even Ferrari.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
I agree with most of it but the thing is that those mentioned teams were fighting with each other. Not directly with the front runners. That's what USF1 would have to expect if they EVER where to make it to the show!
I think lotus will have a podium this year with REANULT power behind them.
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Sure all new teams fight to NOT be last! None have a chance against the front runners. An American team would race againist lotus virgin hispania at 1st, then later try to move up at fight the mid pack teams in a few yrs. Agreed - each new team struggles with budgets, no testing, sponsors and getting talent. USF1 would have had the same issues had they made it to the grid. That's my main point - an American team wouldn't really be any worse or better than the other new teams.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55
Virgin is too experimental. They are obsessed with CAD their car. That's why the tank was too small. Hispania is a Spanish team, and are working with a VERY limited budget. I would even go so far as saying they have the smallest budget.
We'll just have to wait and see if my predictions are wrong.
sinner2208 1 year ago
@sinner2208 All teams are a blend of nationalities to some degree - even Ferrari has Italians, Brits, Spaniards, & Brazlians etc working together to win. USF1 would have had to get guys who have F1 experience whether they were Americans or not. Too bad it failed...
Minardi struggled for yrs in F1- they say they achieved 90% of Ferrari's pace with 10% of their budget. At the time the budgets were $300 millon vs $30 millon. Always pulled for them to do well - getting pts was a victory too them!
nashi55 1 year ago
@sinner2208 Look how many teams have been bought out over the years, it's just easier to buy a team and start out that way. It's not just Americans...it's any serious F1 competitor. Buying an established team just makes sense.

Just the fact that ts american, we know its going to be a crap team...

WHATEVER DICK!!! You cant even spell "Its" You idiot
trep1911 1 year ago
Unfortunately when I wrote my message I experienced what is known as a typo. But, it does seem that you are quite an idiot as well, due to the fact that in this situation it would be grammatically correct to spell it's with an apostrophe. Meaning your correction, is incorrect. I wont even mention that you capitalized the y in the second "you", or the lack of an apostrophe in the word "can't", or even the complete disregard of periods. So don't lecture me about grammar you illiterate retard.
pedrojoaristi 1 year ago
Oh no, i will put every period and every comma where it belongs. And, i capitalize to get me point across, DDUUUHHH! Hey why dont F1 fans put a team in IRL or Nascar and see how you do? Explain to me how Juan has only won two races since he's been in the U.S.? Great F1 driver has been here for years and only won 2 races, RETARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
trep1911 1 year ago
This is the problem with the colonies these days. Constant inbreeding has left the common folk to think they know anything about anything. Its okay, I forgive your naiveness.
pedrojoaristi 1 year ago
@trep1911

A part of me wants them to be on the grid though just to show themselves up as the arrogant pricks they've been!
paolonfg needs to read up on F1 history!!!

This team is more and more starting to look like another Andrea Moda or Life F1 team. So far it looks unlikely they will be on the grid in 2010.

im just joking yeah i know americans can do a formula 1 car look out the ford benetton in 1990's its really great car but the driver is a german named michael Schumacher hahaha:) but i still hoping that all the drivers and sponsors is from USA
paolonfg 2 years ago
what the hell are you smoking??
Benetton is an italian team. The car was designed in Enstone, England. The engine was just paid by Ford but was designed by Cosworth in England. There wasn't a single bolt that was american designed on that car.
It was the Benetton-Ford not Ford Benetton you idiot.

im sorry my bad. i thought it was american team.

Ford don't make F1 engines...never
Cosworth make F1 engines for Ford..
"Cosworth" "British factory" make engines for F1, Indy, Nascar, Champ car, Wtc, Etc. etc.
European factory are best in motorsport..
all american series, are composed by European cars... Lola, March, Osella, Dallara..
where are americans?
roby70juve 2 years ago
@roby70juve America is in F1 through sponsors like (at&t, budwiser, hp, compaq, fedex, marlboro), supplied tires by Goodyear & owned teams too. Ford bought Stewart and named it Jaguar. Ford owned Cosworth briefly so they had access to Ford's resources from supercomputers to money.
Granted the American presence isn't as big as it should be. Perhaps an American team can help get some attention and change that. Most Americans never heard of F1. So some stories on the news might help.
nashi55 2 years ago
@roby70juve The manufacturer owned teams wanted a US race again, since they sell so many cars here. Perhaps we would still have BMW, Honda & Toyota if there was a US race. They might feel that their large expenses could be justified with more American sales. Point is that while on the surface America does not have a big presence; US is still involved in the series.
Bernie seems to resist having races here seems he wants to race anywhere but the US! Its a shame.we would all benefit.
nashi55 2 years ago
@roby70juve Pete Windsor mentioned during a pre-race show that Hitco, Brembo and Carbon Ind all make some of their F1 parts is the US.
So the US is in F1 now and that presence will increase with an American team. Provided that USF1 does actually show up on the grid!!!

Think a few years ahead, Nix, and more quietly.

sorry.. i respect you americans...
but 2 american drivers without F1 experience is a tragedy ...
this is the first series in the world !!!
roby70juve 2 years ago
It's sad really that a F1 team will choose drivers because of their nationality instead of talent and encouragement of the sport. To let something so pathetic as national intrest go first is stupid in F1. Still that USF1 will have this goal I think everyone can understand but I think it will not last for very long.
VuDu4000 2 years ago
McLaren and Brawn (that will be Mercedes during 2010) also moves in this direction for 2010 I think is bad also, they are just to big for doing this, F1 is not like that. Look at Ferrari, they have made it without an Italian driver for like 15 years. Skill and talent should come first in F1.
VuDu4000 2 years ago
One thing I will say in favor of F1 though. What millions upon millions of fans will remember and talk about for decades are the battle between Ferrari & Renault for 2nd at the '79 French GP, Alonso holding off Schumi at Imola for 9 laps, Lewis vs Kimi at Spa '08 to name three. Those battles are known the world over & are remembered with deep hatred or overwhelming love. But they are known. What most people the world over know about NASCAR is the death of Dale Earnheart & lots of crashing
ursavostock 2 years ago
I would be willing to bet if you asked the average American if they knew the names Kimi or Alonso, or Spa or Imola, they wouldn't know what you were talking about. (Maybe they'd know Michael). And crashing and death? People still talk about Senna and Clark, and the countless other driver's who died in the early days. I'm not a nascar fan,but I know that it's not an international competition like F1 is. Of course more of the world is familiar with F1. And it is about time the US is too.
unapparatus 2 years ago
@unapparatus Im not sure if you were disagreeing with me or just throwing out your own thoughts on the subject but thanks for at least being a calm and cool fan of racing. Its so nice to talk & debate with people who can have their own opinion without spewing hate for someone who feels differently. And yes there has been tragedy in F1 but I have never heard of any legendary and world renown NASCAR battles that are talked about the world over. Maybe there are & Im just a boob.

I belive that America has actually a long history with F1.

AlexDeLarge90 2 years ago
What many people dont get on both sides of this debate is that racing is racing. Whether the driver is in the MP4-25, a "stock" car or on a tricycle he will push his machine as hard as he can. Granted Im a road course techno-snob and dont like American oval track racing its still good racing for many people.
But to criticize both extremes & being an American F1 fan I would say that F1 has too little passing and NASCAR has too much passing. Its dull when no one passes or when everyone passes
ursavostock 2 years ago
Been getting up to watch F1 races for going on 20 years now. what dont Americans "get" exactly? I dont like nascar except to follow JPM but the new car design was a huge deal, and the usf1 guys are the ones who did it.
As for tracks, Indy is the only track in the US that has the FIA needed rating to host an F1 race. Indy is not hosting because FOM simply wants to much money. Almost all the tracks have government funding writing off the income loss. yes the tracks LOSE money hosting an F1 race.

race at road america..that would be stunning!
also i hate this shit about nascar and cart and irl being inferior to f1... balls to that. some americans dont get f1 so what, the majority of europeans dont get american series! f1 lacks one thing american series have...excitement and customer satisfaction! and i am not american, im irish! btw, what was the point of this video?
paulboggan 2 years ago
I don't know who could afford to build a facility anywhere close to the likes of what we saw in Abu Dhabi. A closed off road race is the best bet. I'm sure the logistics would never allow it, but a New York street circuit could be amazing.
unapparatus 2 years ago
@unapparatus Yeah I don't see anything happening in the US anytime soon or ever for that matter. It takes massive interest, funding & government support & that just isnt there in this country. They would have to do it from scratch and maybe like Suzuka make it a theme park as well.
Hmmm....if they could get Disney on board....???

Don't sign somebody like Danica Patrick or Pedro de la Rosa.

americans can't drive lol...kyle busch will eat your children and smash a guitar over your mothers head. if he gets in f1, he will win.

Skill-wise, Top-Notch American drivers are probably at par with B-Class German junior go-cart drivers , Sorry Americans, that's what your genes are made for...
Hiring American drivers for the sake of Patriotism is a BAD idea and will never be fruitful
