That little touch that jack did when katie was crying had so much feeling in it. I think she felt so much that day. Maybe everything from the past came back into her memories and she is a little afraid of what will happen in the future(Carly tricks). So she was crying for a lot of reasons and jack knew that and that make that little touch special. She was afraid of this long before and unsure of his feelings for her but he needed to reassure her again that he love her.
