  • GOOD NEWS, the dolphins have been freed and the park shut down.

check out the marine connection website for more

  • A crazy thing i saw a week before was in Thailand and it is called "free the bird" with Thai accent. I wish i had a camera there to record it. A girl had many birds in a cage and you payed to let a bird or more fly away..

  • let's put the pressure on these evil, stupid people to stop their cruelty to these helpless dolphins ... Share this video, join their Facebook page and Never, Ever give them business!

  • It's pretty amazing how far humans can go with animals cruelty, stupidity and to get money.

  • I thought it was forbidden to catch marine mammals from the wild?

  • @sowoni1990

No, actually, every year dozens of marine mammals - dolphins, orcas, sea lions, and seals - are captured in Japan, Russia, the Solomon Islands, China, Africa, etc. While it is frowned up to capture marine mammals in the United States, it is still legal to do so with a permit from the government.

  • Good job Niki. This "tank" looks like my swimming pool. No, LITERALLY. It looks like the swimming pool in the back of my apartment complex. Rectangular, shallow, quite small.

  • Petition signed

  • I have joined the group!

  • I do not understand like in this year, still jails of animals continue existing ... this is unjust!

  • This is heartbreaking. :'(

  • @shamuwoworca

Thanks! Micha and Tom were at the Kas Dolphinarium, also in Turkey, prior to being shipped out to Oludeniz last week. Little is known about the two dolphins, though it's been said they were caught off the Mediterranean coast. Neither Kas Dolphinarium or Oludeniz are listed on Phinventory, oddly enough.

  • @peepchick101 I THINK at least Micha is from Russia, but Im not sure where he was caught. Anyway, the dolphinarium in Kas is a dumphole also, its a sea pen, yes, but not larger than this pool... It was originally used for a therapy program that now operates another, bigger facility elsewhere in Turkey with many more dolphins imported from Russia (for all I know).

  • @Seppeline5 - Sorry, forget i wrote that, i read wrong :s

  • @FreedomForOrcas lol, no problem. If you look up dolphin-therapy (dot org), you can see the new dolphinarium they built and it also says they have so called therapy trained dolphins from Russia. When they left Kas to built the bigger place, they just abandonded Misha there to rot in that tiny pool and now look where that got him... shows how much they really care, doesnt it.... I just wish the families would know these things before spending thousands for those therapies...

  • @Seppeline5 - What I don't understand is why therapy sessions have to be with a wild dolphin. It's proven that other animals work just as well - in fact, there's a place in the state where i live that gives horse rides to children with mental disabilities, and they have recorded great success rates.

I think its a bit selfish to use a dolphin when there are so many wonderful, loving animals like dogs, cats and horses....

  • @FreedomForOrcas I understand how parents will think its a good idea, and frankly, there are enough people who will take advantage of that to make money. In Turkey, for example, the therapy alone costs 4-5 thousand Euros, plus the travel is organized by the same German company.... Personally I too think that equestrian therapy for example, done not for one week but for years on a regular basis, is not only cheaper and safer but also more effective...

  • Absolutely horrible...
