@whippetqueen According to Brian Plummer, a common Lurcher "recipe" in South Wales was to cross a golden retriever with a greyhound and then breed the cross back to a greyhound. The dogs could be used to retrieve shot game and to do some coursing. The dogs were smart enough to learn the proper context for the behavior, I guess.
That's one thin golden retriever :)

thats a great dog, i hadnt heard of lurchers before not long ago are they a breed of dog or like hounds or terriers that sort of thing?

Wow! That dog can jump! I bet it's pretty fast too. Did you shoot the rabbit or did the dog chase it down?
