  • After being in many tornadoes since I was a kid, it's always eerie to me to see complete devastation and little things, like the shampoo still in place while 2 ton steel is just ripped apart. You definitely gain a respect for nature and what it can do.

  • i love tornadoes but i hate the damage from them

  • players for this town the cross was intact at the church and the walmart parking lot looks like a junkyard unbelievable.

  • that wal mart is more usable now than before...

  • holy sh*t man...this poor walmart :(

  • Me & my dad go through Joplin when we go to Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, MO & some of the houses are still tore up. Truly devastating. And this spring weather is getting an early start this year.

  • @DannySan626 Ha I was there when it hit and I had to go kinda that way to get out and there were a couple tanks left

  • as a former walmart employee it's scarey to see the entire middle of the store gone. that is exactly where we were trained to get all the customers and employees to gather during a tornado....

  • In every video of a big box store hit by a tornado I see, the shelves are left standing. I know where *I'm* taking shelter.

  • hope people have car insurance....

  • Oh the poor fishies at wal-mart =( not being sarcastic either i always go to look at the fish in the fish section at wal-mart whenever i go. only because my gf wont let me put any in her room >=(

  • any1 else here fatboy slim music in the background?

  • whats sad is that the store manager is getting rid of every employee one by one,, that worked there before the tornado,, i laughed when i heard this ,, but it is a reality,,some where even fired that worked the day of the tornado,,

  • i hope no one was hurt but being a Walmart employee makes me happy to see one knocked to the ground

  • But. but. but, it was only people from Wal-Mart.

  • My heart goes out to all those who were affected by the Joplin tornado and other tornadoes. Actually, my heart goes out to everyone who has been affected by a natural disaster.

  • MrBeanerschnitzel: Wow, I'm speechless. Everyone knows and realizes money is needed and many people are doing whatever they can to help. True, money does help. But prayer can also help and has helped before. There is no need to be offensive. Have some appreciation!

  • OMG the RED car is FLATTENED !!

  • @AboutMeFamous

    That's why you don't buy a pontiac

  • see the broken windows? this is why you do NOT stay in your car during a tornado.

  • i wonder if any beyblades survived

  • To all you people, SWRADIO2012 and ArianaNo1Fan for example, shut the hell up. I would like to see you crack jokes and make ignorant comments again if you were actually in a situation where you lost a loved one, lost your home, or watched something so devastating with your own eyes. Dozens of people died because of this tornado. I watched this tornado tear apart houses and businesses first hand and trust me, it changes your life. So shut up and have a damn heart!

  • god it looks like a tornado went thru there

  • It amazes me how insensitive people are. People shop at Wal Mart because they're not as rich as the people who criticize people for going to Wal Mart. People work at Wal Mart to make ends meet and to pay bills. Hate the Wal Mart CEO's and the company, not the people inside. Anyway it's good to hear people came together in a time of need and it's unfortunate idiots were looting. Also, I think all retail stores/warehouses should have a storm shelter cuz those buildings are like tin sheds.

  • looks like a deadly warzone...

  • @gtamodfreak1113

When you stood behind Walmart looking Southeast, the entire path looked like pictures of Hiroshima, literally like an A-Bomb went off.

  • i'm NOT trying to make this sound offensive but.. if peoples homes were ripped apart, why didnt they give out all stuff left over from walmart to .. i dont know.. help them, i guess?

  • @cutieplex How do you know that they didnt?

  • iam an employee and wonder what happened to the lady that got mad cause she couldn't shop and left

  • were people tagging cars durring the tornado?

  • Walmart remained open for business before, during and after the tornado and pledges you won't find a cheaper price for shampoo, anywhere...

  • I'm sorry about the loss of your friend, but glad that you and your family are safe. Hope you had good holidays, and that you will meet with good fortune in 2012.

  • I'm thankful I live in a place where F5's are rare. Don't get me wrong I love the US, but shit I'd rather dig through snow to find the walk way than dig through debris to find a loved one... God bless you all to the South from us in the North.

  • Thank God the bottles of shampoo are still standing in place on the shelves!

  • I was once watching a show on tornadoes. It showed a house completley gone, yet the clay flowerpot WITH flowers in it was unscaved. Tornadoes do strange things...

  • Good to see Walmat or whatever they call it open to the elements. Ha!!!

  • I live in Rolla Missouri and that was to close for home, I work at the hospital in Rolla we were under lock down for 4 hours

  • @ozzygodisgod Where is rolla in comparison to joplin?? I don't think i've ever heard of it actually ^^

  • @SuperKasura Rolla is about 2 hours away from Joplin, 30 minutes away from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri

  • no, the entrance is still there. it's just wider now

  • Holy crap

  • this is an awful disaster, god bless all those affected

  • how did you get in there???

  • I live in St. Louis and flying in one realizes how much the tree cover of old trees makes a city into a home. They can rebuild Joplin but a hundred years of trees are gone and it is going to look naked and raw for a long, long time.

  • You know as I read some of these comments that some of you think it's just absolutely funny to make fun of this It's not funny I hope it happens to you and then you will see!.

  • I would NEVER live where those giant Tornado's occur (Thankfully I have Common Sense) However, I was wondering where in the hell does a town or County put all the debris when it's over? Nobody ever talks about that.

  • how did those shampoo bottles manage to stay on the shelf?

  • I live in northwest Arkansas and was watching the news and the weatherman was telling about a supercell storm forming over Ottawa and Delaware counties in Oklahoma. Joplin was in the path of this storm. I had no idea it would be this terrible. I still shudder when I see these videos.

  • looks like ww3 :o

  • i don't care about the prices of other retailers, i just know, this store and its employees did what they were supposed to,, sorry if some angry person, is mad cause they can't shop and needs to to to site to store,, and doesn't want to?? oh well, thats theyre decision to leave,, and probably drove right into the tornado,, thats theyre fault,, not anyone else's

  • Holy Fuckin Shit, now you have no more wal-mart no more anything

  • @interstateruler well we now have a new walmart and severel other stores, but alot of houses are gone.

  • @interstateruler It's being rebuilt

  • i was in qulin when this happened it was nuts

  • i hope u and ur family and ur town are gettin back on ur feet what total devastation !!!!

  • @paul000108 Thank you Paul......so far it's been a long climb but we're all doing great...I'm going back to Joplin and Sedalia this coming August to visit my family...God Bless...happy holidays.

  • I have family in Joplin and Sedalia.....my best friend I've known since 2nd grade was found dead four days later.....I recognized him and dug him out....My family did survive,, and we are grateful to God for many things....we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving....We used to shop at this Wal Mart... I also trained for nursing at Regents Medical Center....this tornado destroyed my boy hood town...Thank God my family is fine :)

  • @martychudej Joplin is the last town we drive through to get to my grandma's. I never saw a tornado, or the after effects, till I drove thru. My heart goes out to everyone in Joplin, you all will be in my prayers :(.

  • @1090cookiemonster God bless you....Thank you so much...my family is doing fine, my best friends family are adjusting but doing well.....I'll be heading back to Joplin in August to visit my family....God Bless and Happy Holidays

  • @martychudej I'm sorry for the loss of your friend

  • @doofenschmirtz2011 God Bless you and thank you....his family is doing fine and rebuilding....Merry Christmas to you :)

  • @martychudej God did also created that tornado! Paradox! He likes to play with his creation as we play with rats. Come to the evidence that your friend was just at the wrong place, at the wrong time. My sincere condoleances though.

  • It's Al-Mart Now.

  • @emmagr1002 And you're a prick..

  • The people looting came from outside. The people inside all worked together to get out. It was the ones who showed up with trucks just to loot the store Im referring to.

  • Really, folks, dissing on people because they happen to shop at Walmart? Hold a mirror up to your faces. How shallow you are. Your nose is stuck so far up in the air that you look down on everyone else, apparently. Anyway weird place to air such twisted thinking. 'Nuff said.

  • @EntrepreneurKC Thank you so much! WELL SAID! BRAVO!!!! Couldn't have said it any better myself.....I have family in Joplin and Sedalia....my best friend whom I've known since 2nd grade lived in Joplin.... he was found dead four days later......it broke my heart to see my father's church get destroyed as well...

  • To the one who said they refuse to pray for Walmart shoppers I might point out I wasnt shopping there but it was the only place to take refuge from the storm. I was in there at the last few minutes before it happened . The experience was beyond anything I could explain. BTW there was alot of looters in the store when people were still trapped. Instead of helping dig anyone free they stole stuff. That my friends is the lowest form of human scum.

  • @onetjefferson Precisely. 1 - the LAST place you want to be in a tornado is a building constructed like that. 2 - the fact that people turned to looting and ignored those trapped does not surprise me in the least, as it is part of the self-centered attitude that wal-mart has helped to foster in this country.

  • @CatsLairArchives @CatsLairArchives I know I didnt want to be there at all. My friends son was there shopping with his mom and he ran there when the tornado sirens sounded to protect him.We were originally at Lowes which isnt much better but it was out of the path by half a block. We werent so lucky. I ended up being in the right place to save a babies life from being crushed. Didnt want to be in that flimsy built building but glad I was for those reasons.

  • @onetjefferson, that's sad. Didn't know there were any looters until much later. I went to MSSC or University as I believe it is called, lived in Neosho with my grandma.I know the area well, and one of my best friends, who unfortunately, lost touch with, died in the tornado. Was so shocked and saddened. I was sad for everyone in Joplin.

  • walmart has got ripped ny it!

  • I am sorry, but one group I REFUSE to pray for are wal-fart shoppers. If they care more about low prices than safety or the well being of their neighbors then they deserve whatever ill befalls them.

  • @CatsLairArchives And what does that rediculous comment have to do with anything?

  • @mattdean1003 Why should we care about or pray for a group of people who tend not to care about anyone but themselves, and who worship cheap goods over the well being of their friends and neighbors.

  • @CatsLairArchives, uncalled for.

  • @ProudKansan08 it is the truth, if you cannot handle it then it is better if you commit suicide - fore sooner or later those people WILL bring you a far longer and more painful death.

  • @CatsLairArchives, ???? commit suicide because you made some snarky remark about people shopping at Wal-Mart instead of taking cover from the tornado? Okay, whatever.

  • @CatsLairArchives go die if you can't so what if they care more that doesn't matter they were through a storm a lot of people were you pray for everyone NO MATTER WHAT PUT ASIDES YOUR DISLIKES AND JUST PRAY THEY WERE ALL THROUGH IT THEREFORE THEY SHOULD ALL BE PRAYED FOR NO MATTER WHAT

  • what i mean is you should pray for everyone no matter what since they've all been through that storm

  • I would of made my way to the pharmacy

  • was in this walmart just almost 2 hours before the tornado hit. was planning on going back right after graduation. i thank god every day that my family and me decided to go home to change before going out. Was my graduation day and should have been a good day to remember now i will never forget the destruction and pain that tornado caused.

  • was at this store on this day have been looking for any video of it thank you much for posting I thought they were wasting my time instead I found myself curled up in a little ball lying on the floor was inside got up and was outside

  • i have a couple videos on my channel of the aftermath. just devastating.

  • What is happening since this destruction? Is our goverment helping or has it turned its back? I'm curious you hear no follow up news

  • 0:31 why do the White SUV have graffitti on it?

  • @MrMattjones2011 Search and rescue mark things they have already checked so others don't waste their time checking that place again. They do the same with houses, buildings and other areas.

  • @MrMattjones2011 That shows if a person was or wasn't found in the car at the time of the tornado.

  • @MrMattjones2011 It was most likely a symbol spray painted by rescuers or state troopers to indicate that there were no people in the car...

  • @MrMattjones2011 Emergency managment does that. It's a code, signifying if the car or building had anyone in it that was taken care of, or if a car or building still needs to be searched for survivers. They also use codes to tell other emergency personnel if it was vancant or not. It is not gang bangers. It's all emergency managment. When cops, firefighters and emergency doctors in ambulances are in training, they have to learn those codes. Each code is unique.

  • picked a bad day to shop at china-mart

  • god bless wal mart yall

  • this was my fave walmart cuz i always saw friends n teachers...

  • WOW the tent is still up

  • and they say to go to the center of a building...wow..no center left here..I always felt safe in a public place like a mall, but I guess mother nature will get you either way! These poor people never even saw what hit them...tragic...just when you think you might be able to hunker down in the wal-mart and get shelter....geez

  • my heart goes out to all the victims and families......but seriously.....FUCK WAL-MART!!!!!!

  • joplin did not deserve this

  • I had so many friends go throught it in this walmart and one of my friends fiance was killed when the roof fell in on their head

  • This is just sad :'(

  • The X's are to show other rescuers that that building/car or house has been checked so don't waste time on it.Yeah, i saw a lot of those after the tornado hit. Thankfully im alive to tell the tale but my house is gone. But im alive!! Thank God!

  • Why do all the cars have X's on them. Sorry for my ignorance

  • @danielrfuster

Means a body was found inside i believe. sorry this happened to joplin as well as tuscaloosa :( god bless joplin.

  • @AlabamaCrimsonTide85 The X means no body was found

  • @danielrfuster Cars with X's means that emergency workers have already checked them. Common practice during a mass-casualty disaster. They do the same thing with damaged houses.

  • Those Tauruses have one hell of a strong roof

  • @GhettoLandTV what do you mean? Joplin rarely ever gets tornadoes like this... and why is it funny that they did?

  • I feel bad for the people that lost a lot but my god don't get me wrong here but been better off dropping a bomb there because that's exactly what it looks like was dropped

  • So where at in the store did people take shelter?

  • @MrGSWAGG92 in the bathrooms. a friend of mine was crushed inside there by a big beam. she lived but her arm got all messed up.

  • @nicks99322 ,whos your friend, are they an employee, just curious

  • Respond to this video... i work there and almost went there, for cover, but my car was about to break down,, and also on empty,, glad i didn't,, iam at 7th now, hate it like alot of our employees,,

  • Just imagine one of those shopping carts hitting you at 250+ miles an hour. That'll be a death on 1000 WAYS 2 DIE!!!

  • one less walmart to worry about

  • How the hell did those tents stay up ?

  • @jf99151 lol. I hope you're kidding.

  • Comment removed

  • That's what Wal-Mart gets for having higher prices than Target >:D

  • @megs4000 Not funny. Do you have any idea of how many died in this thing? Of course not stupid teenager.

  • @Brdj010 I knoq but Wal-Mart does have higher prices thanTarget.

I DO CARE ABOUT THE PPL IN JOPLIN!!!!

  • @megs4000 Yes, Wal-Mart is a crooked, greedy ass company, but that isn't what the video is about.

  • those damn pesky shopping carts...

  • why does Joplin gets lots of tornadoes man

  • What was the death toll in this particular Walmart?

  • @Water4Jeremiah 3 people were killed inside wal-mart

  • @Roxy3giraffe Thanks, I read that report and I think it's a bold-faced lie. There's no way 200 people could be in that building and only 3 lose their lives. They probably reported only 3 that died inside the building and not the 30+ others that were removed from the building before they died. There's no way only 3 people died.

  • I use to go to this wal-mart all the time, I drove for cfi/conway.......damn

  • I wanna know what shampoo was that? If it can still stand during a tornado i wonder what it will do to my hair? Anyways Prays for Joplin!!!!

  • @rachaelmadison15 That was Pantene!!

  • @angelnmoki thanks

  • All that destruction in the lot and the tent is still standing. Weather can be weird.

  • Fuck where did I park Honey!?

    gODBLESS jOPLIN<3

  • walmart just got fucked up

  • 0:07 hey look! a shopping cart!!!

  • This had to have been taken the next day...because there are some cars that have already been towed. :\ Mine included...I can't even stand to be in a Walmart anymore.

  • "Attention Wal Mart shoppers - would the owners of every car currently in the parking lot please move your vehicles, especially if they are now upside down, on their sides, or are blocking access for incoming emergency vehicles. And thank you for shopping at Wal Mart!"

But seriously - large buildings like this, which are essentially warehouses, are not safe in storms. Too much of them consists of open space, with little of concrete that will remain standing. Roofs are easily blown off. Scary.

  • Shit, now where did I park my car? I told my husband that little orange ball for the antenna was a waste of money!

  • God bless to everyone in Joplin! You can count on my prayers.

  • My first thoughts were, where would you go if you were in a Walmart during a tornado alert, which I have been). After seeing Joplin, here is my advice...don't get in your car (and if you are caught, climb down under the pedals on the floorboard and cover yourself with the mats). Don't get in a crawlspace, because a tornado that big will just scoot the house over and DROP in on you. DO go to a bathroom, not the tub, hold on to the toilet. Fiberglass tubs fly. Doorway or closet! Thanks! God bless.

  • looks like a zombie movie with all the wrecked cars

  • thumbs up if you whould take all the candy in the cashier

  • @ebayman2 uh no actually quite the opposite... there was already a ton of looting when i was down there... and that doesent help...

  • Imma pray for u guyz. So SAD :(

  • Not trying to be insensitive when I say...Guess the produce section's now in the electronics...

  • @mindlessgonzo 160 people died in my hometown and that is very insensitive. Keep your comments to yourself if you have nothing better to say!

  • dude wheres my car?

  • @87firebirdformula your funny?

  • welcome to walmart get your shit and get out

  • I lived through the Moore oklahoma tornado in 1999, ever sense i hoped and i prayed i would never have to see anything like it again... yall are in my prayers

  • errr....um wow first of all. second of all i've seen this kind of damage at my local walmart the day after black friday each year :( i hope no one got hurt here.

  • @atvrider7 - actually over 150 people died so you might want to think before you go and say something completely STUPID like that.

  • Almart?

  • @mryjn420090 Maybe the tornadoes name was AL?

  • The tents in the parking lot are still intact ?!?! OMFG !!!

  • @xboxvidiot umm, that was after the tornado :l

  • @xboxvidiot the tents weren't there when the tornado hit.

  • ok, why did this site let me post this and not what i wanted to say which was way more subtle

  • i hate obamastupid

  • i dont think these people are savin money and livin better. R.I.P. Joplin Tornado Victims

  • AL-MART :)

  • aye prayers were sent out that day. and stlil being sent out. the need for help anbd healing doesnt stop the day of hte storm. it continues for a VERY long time

  • amazing to see what is stll there and what is gone. those tenst for example idk if htey were put up for rescue efforts or they survived the tornado. ive seen THAT happen. a house get wiped clean, yet a pup tent in pack yard is untouched

  • If the whole center of the store is gone, why do the employees make you move to the center of the store when there are storms??? Bad idea!
