It may be a New York accent, but it's definitely not a Yonkers accent. Jay talks more like he's from Brooklyn. He sounds much like Art Carney when he played Ed Norton in The Honeymooners.
It doesn't matter whether or not you use a dialect in a show unless either a director specifically asks you to or it is written clearly in the context of the script, or, of course, you choose to as an actor.
