It's cuz that's how his robot mode looks in the movies. He has huge arms and small legs like a gorilla

This is in all sense of the word in transformers lore a "combiner"

in your precious G1 series all you had to do was move a piece or two and then your all done

These transformers in the new movie are highly complex and thus the toys will be far more complex then they were in the past, this of course will lead to problems such as allowing a segment, in this case limbs and other body parts, to transform into both a robot mode and a vehicle mode while still being able to combine with one another

1) This is not a combiner. The limb have to transform into robot mode and vehicle mode. Its a megazord and its sucks.

2) There isn't been a good combiner since G1. The fig are way better now then they were back then but the modern gestalt are just not well proportionned.

3) I wish hasbro could re-release predaking and the original devastator into mass-retail.

Wow... This is what I have been waitng for... Hasbro has lost it's touch...... I am just going to get the ones that can transformer for in to the robots.... This toy it poorly painted I can tell, non of the vehicles transformer in to there robot modes and Mixmaster doesn't know how to shut up.... I was looking forward to this toy so much, to say I've been let down would be a vast understatement.

This is almost as shitty as the optimus that had attachment vehicles, hell in a way it's shittier, none of them turn into robots and its over three times the price.

The original devastator just needs to be redone using modern tech and preferably with each separate toy as a voyager class.

The way Hasbro desiged this toy reminds me of the old Magmatron figure. Toys with no robot modes forming a big robot. I think the big guy will make a wonderful gift for TF fans. I do feel he's sightly overpriced though.

I really like Devastator in the movie, i think it brings a new interesting concept design, being monster-like..

Still lovin the original tho..

But this Figure is even bad scaling in its own set, the arms part & legs part aren't bad.

Scavanger & MIxmaster are way to big, it takes a heavy custom job

it doesn't worth the 100 if u need to spend more to custom, i don't think even a perfect repaint job will work

this is all way too fisher-price, i got deluxe rampage today and was impressed by his complexity, detail and sophistication, so why is devastator such a pile 'o' crap?

In the movie it appears Devastator is a seperate robot from the constructicons but his alt mode is with vehicle modes resemble them.

Many of the other constructicons were seen in the big battle at the same time and Demolisher was killed at the beginning.

So in a way this toy is accurate by not having induvidual robot modes.

What is very inaccurate is that the 7th vehicle (Overload) is missing in this toy, while he was clearly seen in the film to be a part of Devastator.

It's nice but it isn't worth $100.00! Maybe $59.99 or less but definately not $100.00 for the simple fact that they didn't include the robot modes. I'll just have to wait for this thing to go on clearance and is dropped down to a lesser price before getting one. $100.00, they can screw that and I hope it doesn't sell well for the simple fact that they cheated the fan's and collector's out of the Constructicon's individual robot mode's which was bullshit! Great review but i don't like this set at all. Hardly no detail in the individual components, no robot modes either. Then on top of that the scale between each of these is way off. The arm and leg components are too small, the head component is too big. Scavenger is pretty darn big, wish the Voyager Demolishor was actually made in that scale with electronics that would rock.

Why is it that back in the 80's they could make a six-robot combiner where the individual parts had vehicle AND robot modes. But now they can't seem to do it for the life of them?
