I was still just an elementary-schooler when this game was at the mall; I always thought it was so cool when 4 guys who didn't know each other would become a cohesive unit playing this. That's what this music reminds of; everyone shouting encouragement to thier teammates. That was really astonishing when I (around 8 or 9 at the time) was teaming with guys that were in high school; they didn't care as long as we got through the game.
@Kingoftheunknown100 well honestly the nes audio sounds more refined and powerful. The kicks are definitely lacking in the arcade version. Also the music appears to have a weird ringing to it. It reminds me of cyborg justice on the genesis. As you probably guessed i dont just automatically side with any arcade version just cause. Sure i agree the graphics are (for the most part) fantastic however sometimes the game play well.... isn't as refined, a good example is double dragon nes all the way.
@cheapspace that because the nes vision came out to years after the arcade and the music aint that superior to the arcade and come it came out 2 years after the graphics should been better for the nes and the gameplay is way harder on the nes vision i wanted to throw my controller half time in fact i did
@Kingoftheunknown100 I will admit that the nes music score isn't necessarily "superior" just refined (as i wrote before). As far as the graphics what where you really expecting? There is absolutely no way the nes can produce graphics a kin to its arcade counterpart in fact people still claim it was a crap version(which is stupid) Let me remind you the Manhattan project was released and had the same graphics as the first just allowed you to switch turtles which some how got rave reviews
@cheapspace i also disagree with you about double dragon come on they censor shit same like did with final fight and bare knuckle aka street of rage just to make them child friendly which is bullshit
@Kingoftheunknown100 really so what? the nes version didn't have a drop of blood but that didn't effect game-play to the least . Though the arcade had blood it was only an enhancement rather than a must have game element it would have looked like crap anyway due to the nes's limited capabilities. On another note the nes tmnt was hard?? I beat that the same day i got it. The arcade version took well over 20 dollars in a single sitting just to get to shredder with 4 people!!! on hard mode though
@cheapspace meh. i find the original was better- turtles in time was fun, but the original was definitely more for me, and while this might just be because i loved the cartoon as a child, the cast of characters and the locations of the stages in the original are better because they have more of a TMNT feel to them. also, the final boss wasn't quite as epic or difficult in Time. but just my opinion of course.
@CirqueDuFreak2000 Yeah i feel ya. We all have our favorites and who can argue that both turtles in time and the original arcade version was some of the best multiplayer action games of its time. On another note for some reason im thinking about the simpsons arcade game which too was awesome.
@Kingoftheunknown100 yeah its true the arcade characters move much faster than the nes version so if your used to that speed its easy to understand frustration there. I also loved the extended cast just a quick question what did you think about the added stages? Some people hated it some loved it just wanted to ask. (dont worry im not gonna go on a rant cause you think they suck or not)
@cheapspace the Arcade Version had more Moves as well, and Plus the Foot Soldiers could get hit by the Dropping Giant Metal Balls on the 1st Level unlike in the NES Version
@cheapspace DD nes? was smoother because of less slowdown, to be sure, but arcade version was more fun, mostly because you could face more than 2 enemies at a time, as well as more than one kind of enemy at a time, enemies were more challenging in a good way, and (most importantly) the arcade version was.. y'know... 2 player.
with out doubt general tragg and sgt . granitor the 2 stone warriors from dimension x were a bunch of happy bitch slapping bosses in the game (Crush the turtles)
Next to the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 boss music I don't think there is a more iconic boss theme in video game history. This is simply one of the best songs I've heard in a game.
otherwise if ur looking for the console one, (just as good imo despite it's graphix) it's the original NES, or if it's finally on there try VC, or the arcade version is on XBOX live arcade
God I'm Getting Old! I used to play this all the time when I was ten. Hearing this now is a STRONG reminder that I'll be thirty in less than two years. Damn, Dude! Thanks for the awesome memories.

Can you play with 4 players on the tmnt battle nexus unlockable version? game cube version. Please answer my question.
prayermair 3 years ago
Yes. Just have 4 controllers. Which turtle you are depends on which slot you plug your controller in.
Leo = 1st
Mikey = 2nd
Don = 3rd
Raph = 4th

Thanks allot you deserve a thumbs up! :)

How many lives do you have in the tmnt arcade game battle nexus version and continues? Btw is the same boss music in this port?
prayermair 3 years ago
As many lives as you want. Seriously. Not joking. I had 200 lives at one point.
And no, they only use 2 really crappy songs from the actual game and not the original arcade music. Pissed me off.
