  • To learn more about the Selkie Legend is on Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia. It mentions more about the selkie legends and it's origins.

  • @Ladymouse36 Thanks so much for the suggestions about learning more on the legends of Selkies!

  • I keep The Daughter of Lir in my vehicle's CD carousel pretty much permanently. She has a unique songwriting/arranging style I like very much, as well as her singing. I like this one very much and Silhouettes is a very good cut from that album also, I think.

  • @davegammaleonis Well, This particular song has a sound that is really unusual. The harmony is amazing.

  • I've listened to Mary for some time and I never tired of her. Mary McLaughlin and Maire Brennan are my two most favorite Celtic style singers.

  • @davegammaleonis Yes they both have the voices of Angels.

  • By Mannanan Mac Lir! what a voice!

  • @SirDanOfHell I agree! What a voice for sure!

  • does she have any other songs with gorgeous vocal harmonies?

  • @AllMediaReviewsBlog If you have an Itunes account you can listen to samples of all her songs. I found several albums by her there. Daughter of Lir, Celtic Requiem, Crystal Shoe, and A Gaelic Christmas. I have listened to some of the samples and every one of them sounded so lovely. Seal Woman is on her album "Daughter of Lir".

  • @batlady2 check out celtic voices, women of song...she has a few on there...but most are beautiful

  • @973lq Hi! Yes I have Celtic Voices. Came out in the 90s. This song Seal Woman is from that CD.

  • Terrific. Hauntingly beautiful!

  • I haven't heard this song in a decade. It was used in a Chicago production of Brian Friel's "Translations" that was fantastic, and this music added to it immeasurably. Truly breathtaking in every way.

  • @ewolet I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for your feed back.

  • I use this song for medidtation sometimes...never fails to put me in that peaceful place and wash away the stress.

  • I agree Tiny, its a wonderful song. All the voices in perfect harmony. And the story and words to the song are so lovely. I wanted every one to get a chance to hear it.

  • It's on the CD "Celtic Voices - Women of Song"

    GREAT album!

  • Yes, this album is fantastic. There is just no other music that beats Celtic IMHO. Thanks for commenting on my video.

  • Beautiful!! Thanks for posting it. :)

  • thanks for the feed back on Yundah. This song is a bit "different". Some might not like it but I knew there would be some who also love it like I do.

  • Epic song, omg! i love it, more people should appreciate this type of song.
