These themes for pre-existing characters are purposely made more basic sounding (and in some cases, simplistic) because it shows their younger, pre-refined forms. Puzzle Fighter follows this type of music because all the characters were taken from that point in time in the series.

When I think of Zero/Alpha 1's music, I think "from humble beginnings."

I remember having this game on my pc. No instruction manual, and NO INTERNET.

I remember playing against the computer and being like, "wtf, I can't do any of these "super cool moves". Then I went into training mode, MASHED on the joypad until BOOM, a super came out with ken. Then slowly yet surely I figured out how to use the super for him properly. What a game.

I think a lot of people forget that Ken is American/Asian & back then he actually looked like he was a mixture of both, unfortunatley now in SF4 he looks completly american.

@GrandmasterSexay05 Are you sure? I think he's always been very western. They named him Ken Masters after Barbie's boyfriend Ken, and He-Man from Masters of the Universe - two very blond, very white characters. Even if some artists have drawn him half Asian since, he was originally meant to be the archetypal Aryan. You don't get many blond people from the far east.

All I can say I fuckin love the Street Fighter Alpha Series. Great gameplay great music(except Alpha 3 lol) great Character design.

Street Fighter 4 is horrible. The characters look like a mix of hulk and Street Fighter.

@bubblegurl8 it might have something to due with ken giving his bandana to ryu after ryu cut's his head when they were younger, it happens sometime between alpha and the later series where ken has shorter hair. i guess he might've cut his hair because it would get it the way or something and he didn't replace the bandana that he gave to ryu. but it still doesn't explain what happens to ryu's white bandana, maybe he lost it o.o
