I agree that Dave is better in certain aspects, but i feel that his style is really ONLY thrash. and i know he was in fantamos and shit like that, that wasn't thrash. but idk, i just feel charlie (and anthrax) have a more diverse style. don't get me wrong, i love Lombardo, and Lars, but to me, charlie has always been underated, but he's amazing man

I saw a drim solo of Lombardo & he wasnt doing anything near this.

Dave can play good thrash but for soloing forget it man his not that great.I bet in studios he has to do the bass drums over & over becuase he aint that fast at DB.Listen to some of the live stuff where Slayer plays & Dave is struggling to keep the double bass going in alot of their songs.

Otoh Charlie is" what you see is what you get" he shits on Dave.L

Charlie is technical and precise, where Dave is more natural and old school.

one thing is certain, both are great and Lars Ulrich is the worst, especially the past 5 or 7 years, he simply cant double bass anymore and always does those silly unnecessary improvs which make sound like an amateur.

Those are all great drummers but don't leave out people like Derek Roddy (Hate Eternal) and George Kollias (Nile). A lot of people don't care for the music itself because of it's intensity. I'm personally more of a Anthrax, Slayer, Pantera, Dry Kill Logic and Sepultura etc. man. Like a lot of the newer stuff too (even though speed is often mistaken for "heavy"). Anyway, off topic. Look for some of the videos where speed isn't the objective and these drummers are unreal.

I like slayer, i think they're great, but honestly, Dave seems to do the same thing in every song, and Fantomas is just weird as hell, i'd really have to listen to more of their songs to judge that. From charlie solo videos, and his stuff with Mike Portnoy, i feel like he has a more complex style then Dave, and to me thats a lot better, and more fun to play

And in my opinion i think daves drumming is slightly different for every slayer album so dave has got a lot of diversity in his drum style.
