@supermegaguy666 You mash buttons during the hyper combo animation. But ideally you want to start mashing by the super freeze, to max out the amount of hits you can get. When you mash you ass more hits, more hits lead to more damage, by mashing you can increase the total damage of certain supers now. But only on select supers as you've seen in this video. Any other supers cannot be mashed for additional damage/hits. Like Cap's Final Justice or Hawkeye's Gimlet.

Hmm... it seems like you can add 1.5 to 2x the number of hits in a hyper combo with mashing. The damage looks to be 1.1 up to 1.2x extra damage.

It may not seem like much, but the scaling will probably happen a lot faster if you try to combo after a hyper doing this.

Great vid, but I think you may have messed up on Dormammu and mashed on both. Both times he does Chaotic Flame, it's 60 Hits and the same damage, when it should be 30 hits and around the 280,000 DMG area without mashing.

Hyper mashing was in the previous VS games, and I do recall some of Capcom's other fighters supporting hyper mashing to an extent (Rival Schools for one). This is not new but totally important when it makes a difference in a fierce match. What I would like to see is complete documentation on who all in MVC3 has hyper mashing and the difference in damage. Whoever else is playing Vanilla or Ultimate, this mission, should you choose to accept it, is for you.

I can see that in most of them, the change is around 50,000 to 60,000 on level ones with double amount of hits reported. Except in level 3s where the amount is somewhere among 70,000 to 100,000.

The exception comes mostly from attacks that without mashing just make 2 attacks or something like that (Ultimate Web Throw and Gravity Squeeze).

@gherkin70 Most of the quality madcatz and hori sticks have a turbo option. Stick that on to one of the extra buttons that are generally not used, and just hold it down. Maximize damage easily and not wear out buttons.

Just to clarify for those who don't understand, if you've watched some of his "Assist me" videos, and when he explains a characters hyper combos, if he mentioned something along the lines of, "This move does benefit from mashing" then he means (and demonstrated in this video) that if you mash buttons while performing the move, it does more damage.
