  • interesting to see that, even at 8000 mph, you are still getting cars to pass you.

  • @donttreadonmyass that white van was doing 10000 mph, pssssht, OBVIOUS!!!:D

  • so thats what it feels like driving that fast

  • cut the night time ,to fukin dark

  • Always fun watching these. Where do you get your music from?

  • do another one but at 300,000km/h

  • Thunderf00t, how often was a frame captured?

  • Wow! Splendid driving team.. Even the lorry was modified to do 8000 mph!? I'm willing to pay a million dollars for the secret

  • this is about 1/100th of the speed the grand canyon was formed at..... well, according to venommongx

  • @lgr1991 it was 5 times the speed of sound, 8000 mph is about 11 times.

  • Thats the worst, getting passed going 8000 mph.....

  • Toll roads. Quaint.

  • lol you uh might want to slow down a bit.

  • Good thing you did not hit a deer going that fast or a pebble in mid air... Oh jesus..

  • At that speed how come you never got pulled over?

  • Too fast for the cops perhaps?

  • whats the name of that song..

  • how many frames per second was that thunderf00t

  • haha, pulling into a rest area and sleeping in your car all night. Glad I'm not the only one who does that on road trips :)

  • F-Zero on crack.

  • a car passed you going at about 9000 mph

  • it was over 9000.

  • lol

  • Cool video. I just posted one going the opposite direction through the park, and I was only going between 70 and 150 mph.

  • you could actually replicate going that fast on film by decreasing the frames per second of the camera, and the shutter-speed proportionatly (woul be very blurry, just as if you were actually going that fast)

  • ... So how fast were the vehicles that passed you going? 8,075 m.p.h.? d;^>

  • I hope your transport was easy on gas... it'd cost quite a bit.

  • I'm curious. How fast were the cars going that past you?

  • I kinda really want to get into Cornell. =/

That'll be a nice dream to keep. Maybe if I do we can chill sometime?

    Heh.

What are you doing in the U.S. anyway? I've always wanted to know that. Your accent and the way you spell certain words the British way suggests you're British. (duh).

  • Cool, My friend is from Ithaca. So was 8000 miles an hour the actual spped at which the vid plays? Its 3am so if im making a fatal math error please correct me. but if it was 8000 mph over ten minutes would you have traveled 1333and 1/3 miles? sorry if im being to anylitical. sometimes it makes people mad

  • Awesome, the clouds were cool to watch. Also, how much time is there in between each frame?

  • It's 8500 miles from LA to Sydney. It would take over an extra hour to get to Sydney and that's over ocean.

And I like the clouds come and go too.

    btw, I'm Australian

  • And you're not even in the fast lane!

  • The clouds from about 4:15 to about 4:50 are fun to watch.

  • Woah! You drove a long way..

    Also what's this song called?

  • How fast were those cars going who passed you?

  • From a certain angle it appears as if you're moving backwards.

  • To the Thunderf00tmobile!!!

  • This is the coolest time lapse video EVER!

  • vrroOOOOooooooooooooooooommm.

wee ooo wee ooo wee ooo.

drivers license and registration please sir.

  • Is this for real? I mean the travelling at 8000 mph? How did he do it?

  • He dodges lightning, he can move at 8000mph no problem.

    :p

  • I wanted a real explanation!

  • Timelapse lol ;D

  • Explain to me how its 8000 mph please.

  • The video seems to cover about 2-4 hours in one minute (assuming that at 30s he sets off at about 9am) and by 1:20-1:30 it's midday (look at shadows of vehicles).

Gonna assume avg. 50mph driving, so he travels 100-200 miles in 2-4 hours, or ~1 minute of video, or 6000-12000 miles in one hour of video.

So, the video appears to record imagery the equivalent of 6000-12000 miles of travel per hour of video.

Averaging 50mph is probably a tad high given towns etc.

  • So its just messing right? I thought maybe Thundef00t really got to that speed with his knowledge! :-0. Whats the top speed humans can control U think?

  • Yeah just messing and dunno, it's really about how many control adjustments you need to make every second and how many you can make ... without offing yourself xD

  • Man, this is like something out of a dream. Good job, sir.

  • nice video and best of all your a fellow new yorker

  • You rock thunderf00t

BTW I was wondering if you had a name you wanted to go by?

  • Phenomenal. Loved also how the sun sank, and the clouds morphed and moved across the sky. The music was perfect for it, it's the kind of music I also like to listen to when driving very long distances over straight, flat roads.

  • Wow! Loved it!

  • I'm trying to figure out when PA starts and begins.

Guess this video means you're out there now, huh?

I'll be looking forward to the videos.

  • Bah! You took Rt. 90 didn't you? This is going to be harder than I thought.

  • 3rd and last comment for now. (Helps make your comments look better, right?)

The songs on this video are amazing. Just wondering what they are is all.

  • When you listen to Trance it gets you to where you want to go a lot quicker. It makes your car go faster.

  • wow 8000 mph must require allot of energy. build your own nuclear fusion power plant did you? :P

  • i cant believe you went and filmed all that tunderfoot. lol gj mate

  • The shadow has a mind of its own.

  • There's shadows in life baby!

  • I could not keep my eyes of this video, i mean it was terribly boring but I couldn't stop watching the road.

  • 8000? That's nothing. You should see how fast those cars passing you are going. =P

  • Haha made it look like you stopped at the Mississippi for like 2 seconds.

  • in full screen, you can easily be confused into thinking its going backwards, try it!

  • Great video, I found the music to be very fitting, good work!

  • You better be driving a manual!!

Also, I'm assuming that the camera is on the passenger side. If so doesn't that mean the steering wheel is on the right? I was under the impression the steering wheels in the US were on the left.

  • Coolish... :)

  • Lame.

    I can drive at > 9000 mph.

    :)

  • Ahh I love ThunderFoot, awesome vid 5*'s!

  • Nice, the clouds passing by is amazing!

I never knew there was anything in South Dakota, I gotta check that shit out one day. :D

  • I muttered to myself "Prairie sky", and maybe three seconds later, there was your tag "The Great Plains".

Fun video... I'm looking forward to a plane ride.

  • wow watch the clouds go by at that speed, it's beautiful.

  • I like your videos, but man you got an awful taste when it comes to music

  • Techno House & Trance is good music.

    :3

  • That music...arrgh. Pretty painful. That's the first time I've ever disliked one of your videos.....shattered illusions ;)

Ach well, I'm sure the videos of the great US landscapes will be better.

  • It's nice to see you doing stuff for the summer unlike me =(

  • Thunderf00t I love your videos but you drive like a granny. :) You stayed in the right lane the whole time and everybody was passing you. What was your avg speed for the trip?

  • 8000 MPH, duh!

  • erm... well around 1:00 ... damn it...

  • whoa

it almost looks like you're going backwards lol

    awesome video =)

  • well, around 0:54 it did

  • actually you a going through several days of material in seconds which would be more like 8,000 miles in so many minutes...anyways, glad to see you setting up another webpage and look forward to what you have to offer...i too have just gone 8,000 miles across the USA in the past 3 1/2 months and what a magnificent place...NO GOD NECESSARY!

  • Road tripping with gas so high. I hope it does not put you in the poor house. That is an amazing video.

  • cool, and nice car

  • Cool

  • Are you going all alone?

Take care, wish I could do the same thing, America is truly beautiful. You should visit various Bible Belt states just for the heck of it as well, maybe they'll shoot you. Meh, have fun!

  • It's like I got to take the trip too, very cool. I like watching the clouds pass overhead.

  • THE MAN IS DRIVING A PORCHE!!!

Look at that curious 'hump' off to the left of the screen,... the rounded dash,...

Our boy's a badass Porche driver!

(unsubstantiated of course, but can you just see him in a 500 bhp 911?) lmao

  • Seems like the beginning of an epic journey,

I wish to do something like this myself one day.

  • Ahhh natural geography the product of millions of years of unintelligent design.

  • awesome, and i wish my yaris went that fast.

  • could anyone tell me the names of the songs used?

  • Don't you have any mountains over here? He he :)

  • 8000 MPH and some people were STILL passing you. Talk about speed freaks.

  • Seems like a long boring trip ;) This makes it better!

  • I think I would have killed myself when I got the the great plains. I commend you Thunderf00t.

  • What a beautifully done driving sequence.

  • When I was 12 my family and I took a road trip out to Denver, CO with a lot of detours along the way. We made it a point to head up to the Badlands and the scenery was incredible.

    Nice tunes, by the way

  • Wow that fact that you're documenting this so extensively is very appreciated!

  • I hate driving near BIG semi trucks.

  • me too, especially the tankers, really creepy.

  • Until you've travelled cross-country on the ground, there is no way for anyone who lives in this country to truly appreciate the scope, scale, and amazing variety of landscapes (many, sadly not visible from the highway) it has to offer. I recommend it to anyone, at least once in their lifetime, "from sea to shining sea," if possible. -RC =^[.]^=

  • I don't know if you're planning on coming to Colorado on your trip, but I highly recommend Rocky Mountain National Park, the ride on Trail Ridge Road always moves me with its beauty and I live an hour away.

  • awesome stuff man had no idea you had that sorta terrain over in america ( im an aussie) :D

  • Yes, it was fantastic to get a realistic view (if a somewhat speedy view) of the beauty in your country. I will consult a map as I have no idea where one is in relation to the other, but it seemed quite a distance!

Great camera work, pity us "tourists" couldn't get a slightly longer lok in some parts - but thanks! =)

  • "I will consult a map as I have no idea where one is in relation to the other"

see his first video, he outlined his route!

  • "see his first video, he outlined his route!"

    Thanks, will do =)

  • wow, great video!

i just did a mini road trip out to the badlands about a month ago... flew out to iowa and drove to the park...

    amazing, huh?

  • That was awesome!! I am looking forward to seeing some more of your videos.

  • Damn, there's some speed demons out there... you kept getting passed on the highway, even at 8,000 mph! Lol

  • How much money did you spend on gas for this? I've always wanted to do something like this.

  • WHEW! I'm exhausted!

  • Your car has amazing brakes !!

  • Nice...

    I'm dizzy :-/

  • Car hacker...

  • Whoa.. if you look at this long enough it looks like you are actually moving backwards... totally trippy. :P Cool vid!

  • Awesome!

  • What song is this?

  • That was pretty cool.

    Have fun and keep documenting!!

  • Wish I was with ya', Tfoot! I love to travel, and The Badlands rocks....Err, literally.

Anyways, judging by your map in your previous video, you went right through my town (or very close) of Mankato, MN. Confirm/Deny? ;)

  • Fantastic video. I've always wanted to see the Badlands, haven't gotten a chance yet as I'm about to go to college. Can't wait for more.

  • NOW WAIT A SEC!? is that driving in the middle of the road starting at 5:20?

  • IT'S UNDER 9000!!!

  • but only just under 9000... looks mildly dangerous :p

  • Amazing. Have fun and enjoy!

I recognized some of the highway through Chicago actually. Hope you got a chance to go into the city a bit.

  • whole lot of nothing between here and there, huh

  • EPICNESS!

  • have a fun trip

  • why did you stop right after the toll booth?

  • Faster than greased flood-water down a grand canyon!

  • The extremely cool thing is, the International Space Station travels at about 17,500 MPH, just under double this speed.

    Science beats your imagination.

    Cool video, non the less.

  • 8,000mph x 2 =16,000mph.

    16,000 < 17.500

  • 8000mph?...I want your car! :D

    Haha :P

    Great video as always

  • That was trippy...

  • It's lovely, even from the road.

  • Heh. Did I see a single frame of the stained-glass window of a church there?

Hope you weren't taking some Eucharist hostage.

  • WWOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

    that was fun :)

  • Hope your trip is fun

    P.S. song title is...

  • "P.S. song title is..."

Shown in the last three seconds of the video.

  • Very cool.

  • When you watch the clouds, it's so surreal. It's riveting. Especially around 3:00 before you get out of the car for a moment. Looking at the different layers of clouds like that is beautiful.

  • How does it feel to drive on the 'wrong side' of the road? :P

  • i'm entranced

  • Yeah, well if you were really driving at 8000 mph, the sun wouldn't set in front of you. :P

  • Thanks ,waiting for next vids

  • I love fast motion videos. Nice music.

  • Knowing the song would also be nice :) Thanks to anyone who replies!

  • that's some fast drivin yo

  • It's just a shame gas is so expensive :(

Enjoy the trip and can't wait for more updates!!

  • Nice, how long did this really take?

  • Live your dream, man. All the best!

  • awesome!

  • Great country you got there and nice choice of music. Have fun and keep us updated with the beauty :).

  • Hope you had the brakes checked before you took your car to that speed. I hear stock pads won't take the deceleration. ;)

  • Pretty cool. Hope you're enjoying the trip =D
