you could actually replicate going that fast on film by decreasing the frames per second of the camera, and the shutter-speed proportionatly (woul be very blurry, just as if you were actually going that fast)
That'll be a nice dream to keep. Maybe if I do we can chill sometime?
Heh.
What are you doing in the U.S. anyway? I've always wanted to know that. Your accent and the way you spell certain words the British way suggests you're British. (duh).
Cool, My friend is from Ithaca. So was 8000 miles an hour the actual spped at which the vid plays? Its 3am so if im making a fatal math error please correct me. but if it was 8000 mph over ten minutes would you have traveled 1333and 1/3 miles? sorry if im being to anylitical. sometimes it makes people mad
The video seems to cover about 2-4 hours in one minute (assuming that at 30s he sets off at about 9am) and by 1:20-1:30 it's midday (look at shadows of vehicles).
Gonna assume avg. 50mph driving, so he travels 100-200 miles in 2-4 hours, or ~1 minute of video, or 6000-12000 miles in one hour of video.
So, the video appears to record imagery the equivalent of 6000-12000 miles of travel per hour of video.
Averaging 50mph is probably a tad high given towns etc.
So its just messing right? I thought maybe Thundef00t really got to that speed with his knowledge! :-0. Whats the top speed humans can control U think?
Yeah just messing and dunno, it's really about how many control adjustments you need to make every second and how many you can make ... without offing yourself xD
Phenomenal. Loved also how the sun sank, and the clouds morphed and moved across the sky. The music was perfect for it, it's the kind of music I also like to listen to when driving very long distances over straight, flat roads.
Also, I'm assuming that the camera is on the passenger side. If so doesn't that mean the steering wheel is on the right? I was under the impression the steering wheels in the US were on the left.
Thunderf00t I love your videos but you drive like a granny. :) You stayed in the right lane the whole time and everybody was passing you. What was your avg speed for the trip?
actually you a going through several days of material in seconds which would be more like 8,000 miles in so many minutes...anyways, glad to see you setting up another webpage and look forward to what you have to offer...i too have just gone 8,000 miles across the USA in the past 3 1/2 months and what a magnificent place...NO GOD NECESSARY!
Take care, wish I could do the same thing, America is truly beautiful. You should visit various Bible Belt states just for the heck of it as well, maybe they'll shoot you. Meh, have fun!
When I was 12 my family and I took a road trip out to Denver, CO with a lot of detours along the way. We made it a point to head up to the Badlands and the scenery was incredible.
Until you've travelled cross-country on the ground, there is no way for anyone who lives in this country to truly appreciate the scope, scale, and amazing variety of landscapes (many, sadly not visible from the highway) it has to offer. I recommend it to anyone, at least once in their lifetime, "from sea to shining sea," if possible. -RC =^[.]^=
I don't know if you're planning on coming to Colorado on your trip, but I highly recommend Rocky Mountain National Park, the ride on Trail Ridge Road always moves me with its beauty and I live an hour away.
Yes, it was fantastic to get a realistic view (if a somewhat speedy view) of the beauty in your country. I will consult a map as I have no idea where one is in relation to the other, but it seemed quite a distance!
Great camera work, pity us "tourists" couldn't get a slightly longer lok in some parts - but thanks! =)

interesting to see that, even at 8000 mph, you are still getting cars to pass you.
