Check your American history and see how workers were treated before unions. They were locked behind doors in unsafe buildings over long hours, with no bath room or lunch breaks, for pennies an hour. After many women died in a fire where they were locked in, workers decided the company owners were putting profit over people. Unions were formed to protect the rights of all workers. If the corporations have their way we all would be working long hours in unsafe builings with low pay/ no benefits.
