@Chaosbroken77 really? Has the opposite effect on me. The album version very much fits into what I would imagine this girl and this culture to sound like. This sounds way too..... European. Sorry, don't have a better word for it. One of my favorite Ayreon songs - the album version. This somehow sounds ... wrong, although the vocals are cool as such.

@Chaosbroken77 Well, but the girl singing is supposed to be Mayan (or was it Aztek?), so the song should have a native South American touch, which the original version and especially that amazing voice definitely has. This does not create any Mayan reference in me, it sounds too.... modern, too constructed. If this is how Arjen likes the song, then I would humbly disagree with him - although I am an Ayreon addict :-)

@pikewerfer Ok, I agree that this version is too polished, especially the instrumental part. But still I like her voice better than the original. I don't think Jacqueline Govearts Version is bad...it is definitely better than most of the crap that is out there in the musical universe, but still I prefer this one :D

@mostlyanthony: I love the Dream Sequencer version of this track. Astrid is definitely the better singer - there's no doubt about that, but the original singer had a certain innocence that worked in her favor. It was that child-like nature of her voice that I liked. It fit part the well.

As far as the song goes. She has a nice voice, but I do prefer the way the original is sang. Overall, I rate them both the same. One has a better singer, the other has a better tempo and melody to it in my opinion. So I believe both singers deserve my admiration and credit.

I presume that he is the Scorpion King known as Zeanu a decendant of Sasha. He would have been the one to unite upper & lower Mesapotamia. He is the Mayan although it seems I am more classified as Aztec by overall. We returned him from Mummy he is mortal 21 so he is younger than his Tut and myself who is millenium later. I think the raw innocence of Jacqueline's voice works beautifully in Dream Sequencer, but on paper, Astrid is probably the better singer.
