  • @vany0335 Now he is 64 and still as gorgeous as ever, doesn't look anywhere near 64!

  • Kuwait channel used to love airing this song between commercials

    This is my true childhood

  • Synthpop is alive!

  • me encantan sus videos 1:45 que buenaa

  • great i love it equinoxe 5

  • by far and away the best of his impressive sounds! I heard this live at a dolphin show in Spain when I was about 10 (1986!)and have never forgotten it.

  • Oh boy, I finally get to see the gorgeous man behind all the music. Don't remember seening his face on any albums. You can tell he's a passionate man about his music and? as well as coming across humble and even a little shy which are qualities I like. Oh well, I can dream...

É perfeita e absolutamente atual, moderna, eterna.

  • It is true, synthesizers today are much different.

    I prefer the oldies.

  • I am a Star Child.

  • I have some French and Spanish ancestry.

  • Star Child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • me encanta su pelo!

  • he was so cute still he is... and with such brilliant brains

  • it's like a bit of the future travelled here from 1979

  • 1:33 Dramatic Jean Michel Jarre!

  • orgasmico

  • this awesome music~ Worlds ~ futuristic sounds here today 2011

  • And now a lawyer!

  • @omgitshardtofindID its the 70's! videos dont have to make sense

  • Very nice !!!

  • Such beautiful music!

  • Wouldn't it be great if there was a music festival with Kraftwerk, Vangelis, Gary Numan, Ultravox, OMD & ending with the spectacular Jean Michel Jarre?............ Synth heaven!!!

  • @dunx1964 If the special guest was Jean Jacque Perrey, then I'm sold.

  • @eldospinks You could who ever you want to your fantasy festival, I would personally add Flock of Seagulls, Blancmange & Yazoo to mine as well.

  • This video looks like the opening titles of a 1970's chat show.

  • this video is hilarious!! xD love the music

  • never knew this video existed! I had this on cassette years ago..

  • No wonder he left it off the Images VHS

  • this really moves me gives me goose bumps one of the best .

  • Good , very good ...

  • Magnifico esse video de Jarre.

  • I love Jarre but... the rounding silhouette as like extragalattical maniac :-D

  • Wasn't to carry in lazy the equipment?

  • Music is great but must say Jean the video ,,does not match the music ,,and i love your work

  • @deansusky agreed they are a little corny, i guess that what made them fun to watch to at the time

  • JMJ is KING!!!!!!!!

  • greetings from Italy!!We love JMJ

  • this same year 1979 he had his first live concert in Paris place de la concord, brilliant!

  • Haha he looks like syed off eastenders

  • When I listen to this tune, I find myself back in my childhood like if it never had been over. Oh, those were beautiful years...

  • @FingertipOfTheNight same to me, just feel like I want to hit the road, and go, no matter where, just go.

  • @FingertipOfTheNight

So true what you say! The music is still great to listen to and I think Jean Michel Jarre will be remebered as one of the greates composers/musicians of our time. What he did with the analog hardware available in the late 70's and early 80's is just amazing, I think, and can hardly be reached by all the digital instruments available today. When I think about popular music in Germany back then (Neue Deutsche Welle) it is somewhat embarrassing ;-)

  • @djbungeede thanx for your comment :-)

  • @FingertipsOfTheNight ... you are welcome.

  • @FingertipOfTheNight oh yes it never leaves you........

I'm asking about THIS VIDEO. In 1979 the music video was an unknown art form, and Jarre was as usual ahead of his time. I'm looking for details on the production, the concept, etc.

  • J'en sais bien, alors! I'm asking about THIS VIDEO. In 1979, the music video was an unknown art form, and Jarre as usual was ahead of his time. Was it shown worldwide? Did Jarre produce it? Got it?

  • Oui, j'en sais bien, alors! I'm a fan of his music. I was asking specifically where this video originated--like was it run on TV or what? The music video was an undiscovered art in 1979, and yet here he is, ahead of his time as usual. I'd love to get some information on the filming as well.

  • Can anyone tell me where this came from? I'm dying to know.

  • I saw him live a few times in this last year in Limoges and down in the south of France.

He was really good. Great show. Well worth the visit!!

  • Landmark music-outstanding and years ahead if its time!

  • no probleme!!!!!the best

  • Jean Michel Jarre-World Champion

  • Haha. A (wonderfully) kitschy music video for an outstanding piece of music. ONe of the songs that made electronic music really popular.

Whoever directed this film must've been working in the fashion industry rather than with music... But yes, I agree, Jean-Michel has nice lush hair! :D

  • Immortal! J.M.Jarre...genius!

  • beethoven tchaivosky mozart plus synthesizer = jean michel jarre one of the greatest musicians ever to walk the planet. True Genius

  • He needs to be cloned, or have his DNA preserved.......because there is nobody else quite like him in the world.

  • Which is best, Oxygene or Equinoxe? I'm thinking Equinoxe!

  • makes me think of the blockbusters theme

  • Music: 5+, Video 1-

I don't understand the video, just him walking around and turning around LOL. :D

  • Around 1978-79 this. Jean Michel Jarre is a pioneer. Very impressed with the video because it leaves many avenues open..it was supposed to be like that. Very good video.

  • Heaven.

  • Am I the only one who, when seeing this clip, always thinks Jarre will transform itself into Space SHeriff Gavan (X-Or)? Look at those camera shots, it's just like in the serie. Anyway, that music rocks. Don't care if he was the first to produce that kind of music anyway, he was a pionneer, and a master of his art, and he inspired lotsa people after that, and electronic music nowadays owe much to the guy. And he will still be remembered when those who preceeded him will be long forgotten.

  • @Haeresiarchonte Agreed, the way this video was shot sure looks like an intro for Gavan, Sharivan &/or Shaider & AM I also waiting for him to transform too LOL!

  • @nthjalte Im agree he is a living legend of the electronic music but we can not give all the credit to him, oscillators been used almost 100 years ago for sound effects.About Dance,Hi-NRG,disco,pop,electronic, Italo disco is another complete different path away from Jarre, this kind of music come from other living legends like Giorgio Moroder who started much early than Jarre. People confuse electronic music with computer music like Karftwerk,Telex, and some ppl call techno to any the elect music

  • this is my favourite jmj piece of all time !

  • I have the LP of this - I loved the way that the bassline for V goes on into part VI and VII (must have been incredibly hard in those pre-MIDI days).

  • Comment removed

  • I know this is a girly comment, but he's gorgeous too!

  • Hail the father of techno!

  • did craftwork cut and paste some of this genius work ?

    oxygene will live forever

  • One of the icons of the electronic music

  • @103959770979 Yeah...not just one of the icons, but a true pioneer of electronic music. Without him there would be no modern techno, trance, rave house etc... He is for electronic music like mozart, bach and others are for orchestra music

  • Perfect - takes me back to a fantastic era.

  • 10 people are E.T!

  • AYYY LA JEAN MICHELL JARRE TODA COQUETA , CON SU MELENASA. VANIDOSA ELLAAA. 1:31 AL 1:35

  • the video is ridiculous, but the music is..more than awesome:)

No volvio a sacar nada nuevo

  • i'm 17 and a big fan of him. his music is immortal!

  • @Nejinissan440 I am glad to read that younger generations also like his music. I am 33:)

  • oh wow! Celle-la est superbe!

    Love, love, love it!!!

  • il papà del'elettronica moderna.

  • I love Jean Michel Jarre's music, but this video is seriously pathetic. Doesn't suit the music at all.

  • @wgaule I understand why the video might be a little lame to modern eyes, but we have to keep in mind this was done in 1979 by a musician for whom avant-guard was the norm. Additionally, who ever saw Jarre himself in those days? Did anyone have a clear idea of what he looked like? More than anything, this video gives Jarre a face to someone's interpretation of the music--maybe Jarre himself.

  • The train goes on -track (C64 game reference)
