  • omg

  • How can something like this happen in a First World country? I guess a First World country within a Third World continent is still subject to the nasty whims of nature. Only a country within a First World continent would have been able to keep something like this at bay.

  • @minutemanIV

you are so arrogant of tagging "first world continent"....

US also suffers from hurrican, and it is a 1st world country in a 1st world continent (NA).

  • @minutemanIV Singapore cannot be considered a first world country. Because of its draconian laws and Barbaric penaltys (Medieval Torture beatings of males) Singapore sadly remains as a Third World city-state. The mentality of the current dictatorial regime is definitely third-world, and major changes are needed so that Singapore can join the rest of the free civilized world.

  • @butterflye2020

The definition of being a "First World" country by professors are usually being a "high-industrial country". There isn't any sources from anyone that states the "law" is being taken into account.

If you want to say that, I would think that countries that have high number of innocent killing and theft rates shouldn't be a "First World" either...

  • @AimlessSky There are varying definitions of the term "First World." Several indicators and factors are considered. The movement of people and innovation largely characterizes" first world" and not only do you see mass emigration from Singapore, there is also little innovation. And, again, with the governments continued draconian ("third world") policies and behaviour rebuking international norms Singapore's legitimacy and respect internationally suffers. Civilized comes first-then "FIRST WORLD"

  • @butterflye2020

Draconian laws doesn't equals to third world. If you are talking about being civilized, I think that Japan is perhaps to only country in the world that has managed to hit the mark. Countries like USA, Australia and even Singapore wouldn't be one then... A civilized country should have its people being bonded as a nation, being caring to one another regardless of their races. I would say that Japan is the only true First World country in the world.

  • @AimlessSky Japan,,perhaps. But, I can cite tribes in Africa that have "bonded" as a nation, but cannot be considered "Civilized" and certainly nowhere near First World. The origin of "first world" status started during the cold war with the USA as the core country and those that achieved status were placed in large part upon how "civilized" the country was. As mentioned, the definition keeps evolving, but civilized still remains the base. Untill things change Singapore misses its mark.

  • @butterflye2020

I would say SG is partially First World. Though, actually the government didn't actually acknowledge that as we do not act like one. I think it is hard to define it, the best is to go with what the commonly referred to as highly industrial country. Having the "first world" status is almost like saying their the best. But then again, no one in this world is or will be the best. We are all equivalent to one another. We have to maintain our humanity. It is nice chatting with you =)

  • @AimlessSky Agreed the government doesn't act like one. It is true the meaning of First World promises to continue changing, so what is considered it today may not be tomorrow. I appreciate and respect your views. Oh and, about humanity, ah yes, humanity.

  • 2010 Singapore Banjir ....2011 Singapore Tenggelam ...Hari ini dalam sejarah..

OMG.. is this the worst flood on earth?

  • This is where the SAMPAN comes in handy.

  • Great vid+editing! My class totally LOL-ed at it!

Lol @the conversation against God. It's so sad how stereotypical humans are in only believing in their one and only God when why cant they put it in a way that there are instead many Gods instead of one? Its affinity that what brings us all together, its believing that guides one's way along. Faith holds our heart and seeking truth of what the world is, is way beyond us. It's when yr life ends thats when you start believing everything.

  • aiya...too sudden too bad that time at malaysia ar me... if not i go orchard road swimming ar lol

  • Sumatra" squall is a term used in Singapore and Peninsular Malaysia for squall lines that form over the island of Sumatra and move east across the Straits of Malacca. Gusts can reach up to 27.8 m/sec (100 km/h)[9]

  • A squall line is a line of severe thunderstorms that can form along and/or ahead of a cold front. In the early 20th century, the term was used as a synonym for cold front. It contains heavy precipitation, hail, frequent lightning, strong straight line winds, and possibly tornadoes and waterspouts. Strong straight-line winds can occur where the squall line is in the shape of a bow echo. To

  • dumb ass i would drive my car up the pavement. lmao.

  • lol the insurance will be bankrupt

  • @nonoxynol. It's not a discussion when you are all against God. That's not being fair at all :) good bye

  • @muacigal The Universe is a ginormous place, Our existence demands explanation. We are only starting to discover and explore our cosmic surroundings. A new age is taking shape. An age of reason and science. The time for accepting age old beliefs when Humankind was at its infancy, is when actual evidence presents itself.

I am not against God. I was once a Christian, i went to Church faithfully every Sunday. I couldn't feel him, its was empty, void. A comfortable delusion.

  • @muacigal "I do not believe the same God who bestowed us with sense, reason and intellect, has intended us to forgo them" - Galileo Galilei

  • @nonoxynol Because I never believed that by telling people thru Youtube comment that God loves you and you will wanna worship him. However, in that Guy's case I believe he may be a Christian. Hence I told him all that as the world didn't need to know that they will be send to hell. The world needs to see the miracles He has done. But if you are offended I apologised. And Now there's no need to take this any further :) Have a blessed day.

  • @muacigal @muacigal "But if you still doesn't believe in God or rather you don wish to accept Him, there's no need to take it any further." - So you only invite discussions with people who share a common idea.

"Because whatever I said you will have something to counter back." - If it is unequivocal, or absolute it shouldn't be easily countered. You don't see people easily countering a Maths book do you.

  • @nonoxynol I don think we need to take it privately, I only have 1 last thing to say. It is thru the devil we all have to go to hell. God didn't send us to hell. That is why He send Jesus to salvage us. That's all. But if you still doesn't believe in God or rather you don wish to accept Him, there's no need to take it any further. Because whatever I said you will have something to counter back. And my intention of the comment is not to bring ppl to worship him

  • wow so beatiful!! Is tis Singapore?!!!wakakakakaka

  • @nonoxynol Please look properly before you even commented anything. Firstly I didn't state anything about asking people to worship him. All I asked was for that guy to show some empathy . Apparently it's EQ and nothing about religion. Then he started saying I'm from harvest which he jumped to conclusion like you :) Lastly, you wanna know why He deserved to be worshipped? Simple He died for us. Which no other god did. A simple as ABC. All glory to Jesus :)

  • @muacigal Of coz you didn't say explicitly to worship, but is it not the goal of preachers is to bring people to worship eventually. Correct me if i'm wrong.

Indeed, he may have stereotyped you without evidence, but your notion of God is without one either. That's all i'm saying.

I'll be more than happy to take this discussion private, if you so wish.

  • damn, what a bad drainage system

  • u knw yesterday morning i wish that the rain would not stop till afternoon.. I wish that around 7 something in the morning.. I think its luck.. i didn't mean for this to happen.. serious..

  • What's more suspicious than the flood itself, it is on how fast it recovered from the flood.

It's possible it's incidental, probable reasons are:

    - to defame the Singaporean government for allowing it to happen

    - to praise the Singaporean government for fast response

    - to defame non-Singaporean government for slow response

    - to make a global warning statement

At least they don't blow up anything or kill anyone to make this thing happen.

  • @OrinokawaMizuki

Have you been smoking something? What exactly are you getting at? It has rained here for the last week or so and then dropped 1/3 of a month's average fall in 2 hours. Storm drains or not, it just couldn't handle it.
