@ASingleMind O.O ...sooooo many sources. Mostly from youtube and speeches and things like that. Trailers, music videos. Sorry, there's too much footage for me to sit down and list it all. Was there a particular scene you're trying to identify?
So I'm curious, how on earth did you manage to compile all these sources? Did you gather them over time, or call on what must have been numerous friends to help suggest? A mixture of both? (I know you've already probably been ashed >.<)
Also, will I be slapped if I ask how you managed the pretty colors, especially at the points where it was just text?
@ASingleMind Okay, so the paper falling is from a trailer for a movie called "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". The resent man--the 1:41 took me to all the kids in the river, so I think that's what you meant?--is from one of the endings from the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As for how I compiled all of the footage, it was a mixture of techniques. I had friends make suggestions but for the most part, I typed in key emotions I was looking for into Youtube and Tumblr. Followed those tags.
@ASingleMind And I looked into events that I already had in mind (like school bullying, 9/11, Hitler, a few speechs). But it was all done in about a month, so it was a lot of searching and a lot of surfing videos on the net. Looking at related videos, etc. As for the coloring--and no, you won't be slapped. XD--I'm not sure which coloring you're referring to. The whole video (except for the very end) is done in grey scale. Followed by a gradient/animated texture and then a second texture--
@ASingleMind A second texture on the beginning (fear/hate) aspect of the video, which were red flashes. Those textures were lightly laid over the actual footage tracks and from then, I fixed colors on the actual footage as needed (whether it needed more/less saturation or more blue or more red). I hope that answered all your questions and feel free to ask questions any time. :) I'll happily answer as best I can.

This video, was so emotionally overwhelming. Because I am a born citizen, with naturalized parents, a naturalized brother who served and have a gay brother. We all face discrimination, one way or another, maybe not here in our fairly tolerant inner-city home, but in the eyes of many, we don't belong. But I know America will change. Because there are people like you, like me, who spread the message of tolerance, in all its forms.

So I'm curious, how on earth did you manage to compile all these sources? Did you gather them over time, or call on what must have been numerous friends to help suggest? A mixture of both? (I know you've already probably been ashed >.<)

@ASingleMind Okay, so the paper falling is from a trailer for a movie called "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close". The resent man--the 1:41 took me to all the kids in the river, so I think that's what you meant?--is from one of the endings from the game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As for how I compiled all of the footage, it was a mixture of techniques. I had friends make suggestions but for the most part, I typed in key emotions I was looking for into Youtube and Tumblr. Followed those tags.

@ASingleMind And I looked into events that I already had in mind (like school bullying, 9/11, Hitler, a few speechs). But it was all done in about a month, so it was a lot of searching and a lot of surfing videos on the net. Looking at related videos, etc. As for the coloring--and no, you won't be slapped. XD--I'm not sure which coloring you're referring to. The whole video (except for the very end) is done in grey scale. Followed by a gradient/animated texture and then a second texture--

@ASingleMind A second texture on the beginning (fear/hate) aspect of the video, which were red flashes. Those textures were lightly laid over the actual footage tracks and from then, I fixed colors on the actual footage as needed (whether it needed more/less saturation or more blue or more red).
