This is coming from a Die Hard Chicago Bears Fan, Reggie White was one of the best players I have ever seen and he was one of a kind because he spoke what was on his mind and played the game the way it should be played.
@pedrocantina Wasted? It was his religious background that refined him and guided him to be a good sport. He was a clean player, no dirty hits from Reggie.
He and Bruce Smith are the premier ends of this era. What an athletic marvel; big and strong as a tank, yet nimble and quick enough to beat most tackles around the corner. Was a brick wall in the running game. At times it seemed that he held his defenses together by sheer force of will. Had the best club move I have ever seen. Never gave up on a play. A leader of men. If I were assembling an All-Time Team, my ends would be White, Smith, Deacon Jones, and Gino Marchetti. I salute Reggie.
ahh reggie. i wish you were alive to see the packers win another superbowl. heres to one of the greatest players of all time and one of the most feared. RIP
You have no idea how much the world thinks about and believes in you everyday. Happy Belated Birthday Reggie, everyone wishes you could be here to celebrate it!
Has anyone ever seen anyone else throw somebody's whole body weight which is +- 300 lbs with one arm? Not only a great football player but a great man all around! RIP BUDDY you will be missed!
@shanemarquis1 No, that is what amazes me. He did it backhanded too, so he wasn't thrusting with his tricep and chest he was just using his delts. That play where he threw Larry Allen through the air one handed was insane. White's strength bordered on superhuman.
And stop with this Suh comparison. While Suh will be a very good player and looks great as a rookie. He will never come near Reggies level, impact, or dominance. Its not even close.
@Caponis you can't make that assumption your comparing a rookie to a legend poeple never said brady is the next montana until he showed them otherwise i mean suh is definetly already dominate on the lions d and hes pretty impactful so you never know
That move at 19 seconds should automatically make him be remembered as a Packer. Sick. I'm just kidding though. I am partial to him being remembered as a Packer as I was and always will be a huge Packer fan. He killed it in the Super Bowl. But he was amazing while on both the Eagles and Pack. He should be remembered as the best DE ever. Bottom line. That clears a lot of the Eagles/Pack crap up. Best FA pick-up by the Pack ever. Woodson, 2nd best pick-up.
Best pick-up of the Packers. 2nd best pick-up, Charles Woodson. And people need to stop comparing Suh to Reggie.Reggie was so better its not even close. Suh is gonna be very good but will never be near Reggies level of play.
Best FA pick-up of the Packers. 2nd best pick-up, Charles Woodson. And people need to stop comparing Suh to Reggie.Reggie was so better its not even close. Suh is gonna be very good but will never be near Reggies level of play.
No disrespect Eagles fans, but I'm tired of this attitude some of you show about how Reggie was yours and yours alone. He was an Eagle, a Packer, and a Panther. He was a great asset to those teams, but an even greater asset to the game.
His 198 sack record was in a way, never truly surpassed. Yeah Bruce Smith holds the record at 200, but it took him 19 seasons to do it. And he only beat it by two. Plus Reggie played in a different league for 2 years before he went to the NFL. If Reggie would if played for 19 seasons in the NFL, and went straight to the league after college he probably could of had 250.
Reggie White and Warren Sapp....most dominant D-linemen of their era. RIP Reggie....there will probably never be another end with Reggie's insane combination of brute strength, impeccable technique, and truly frightening speed/size combo.
As far as the coach coming from the packers your coach came from the 49ers so using your logic the 9ers are better than the Packers...
Your not making any sense, the packers have not "ALWAYS" had better players than the Eagles that comment is ridiculous. Both our teams are the most simlar in the NFL today and with that in mind in recent years the Eagles have had the better record so how could u have the better players???
The team was better than the Eagles at the time but Reggie played better as an Eagle.
Let me put it this way Clyde Drexler was a monster for the Blazers but he won a ring with the Rockets later in his career does that mean he was better with the Rockets??? NO HE HAD A BETTER TEAM...
Actually the reason the Rockets were even capable of winning those Championships was because the Michael Jordan decided to retire for two years (allowing others to win). Clyde's Team of 1992 was much more talented and better overall then the Rocket Team that won the Championship. However Clyde had the problem of facing a Prime MJ w/ the Monster Bulls in 1992 which is why he didn't win.
Anyhow, thank you Reggie, Packer Nation Will Always Love and Remember You, 1993 was EPIC!
The importance of Reggie coming to Green Bay in the free agency era cannot be measured. Who knows where the Packers would be right now if he didn't go there. Forever grateful Packer fan here.
oh men the eagles make the same mystakes every time!! i mean what happened to reggie white and brian dawkins kinda like the same thing like 12 season with the eagles and then the eagles let him go and now with brian dawkins 13 sesons and they just let him go!!! i cant belive it and i hope that b dawk wins the SB even with the broncos cuz he deserves it so much
@amandaNO457 but we do... no offence but, we have clay matthews, desmond bishop is on the rise to be an all time great!, and nick barnett is great but he is suffering with an injury! reggie white will never be forgotten! he was amazing! i grew up watching him, so whenever i think of the packers i think of reggie, i even have a cat named after him hahaha!

I grew up idolizing Reggie. And I will never forgive that scumbag owner Norman Braman for letting him walk away. I am and always have been and Eagles fan but I hate admitting that we had a Scrooge-like owner in Braman and a idiot coach Kotite. Reggie was a class act and a minister and Braman used to refer to his devout beliefs as that "religion crap". It's a true shame that Reggie passed away but Braman is still alive!
HOW THE HELL DID he play better on the packers? the most sacks he had were 16 and in 3 years of philly it was like this. 18 sacks. followed by 21 sacks in 12 games followed by another 18. and then he carried on getting aroudn 14 for the rest of his 8 year carrer in philly.
He was a community favorite in philly and kept young kids of the streets, trust me he was never better as a packer he was just on a better team and he was known becuz he won a superbowl...A superbowl is not a player achievement it is a team achievement he was better on the Birds...

Like i said man both of our teams got a chance to witness and be a part of Greatness so in other words it is one bond that both the Eagles and the Packers can share...
i aggree stats arent everything but reggie was in his prime in philly. ok say your 26 you are way better at the age of 26 then 35 or w/e how old he was when he went to bay.
126 sacks in 120 games in philly... 21 sacks in 12 games in philly.... iam not a aphilly fan or a packer fan but he did kick som ass in the superbowl.
dude shut up strahan is an awesom player. anyway reggie didnt have the reccord and strahan shouldnt have it. deacon jones had 26 sacks in 14 games.... thats not fair to deacon since he doesnt get the record.and strahan is oneo f the coolest guys that played in the NFL.
Look at what Reggie does to that takle at 19sec. Thats fucking greatness. He did'nt run around him like the pussy ass D-ends now. He ran stright throw his ass.
anyone know where i can get som game footage of reggie white? i wanna watch som of his game films so i can become better =0 plz som1 help me out hes my hero
Who the fuck keeps giveing me minus. Its fucking ture. Bruse Smith played for ever. And thats the only reason he beat Reggie for the sack record. Reggie White is the best DL off all time fuckers.

8 with eagles and had 124 sacks and like 6 seasons with apackers and had 68.5... EAGLES was better and iam not even close to a eagle fan.
1337elitegamer1337 3 years ago
Stats aren't everything people, jesus christ.
YouJustWait 3 years ago
i aggree stats arent everything but reggie was in his prime in philly. ok say your 26 you are way better at the age of 26 then 35 or w/e how old he was when he went to bay.
1337elitegamer1337 3 years ago
reggie white was 31 when he went to Green Bay. also, he won his championship in Green Bay which means much more than stats.
pauder16 3 years ago
126 sacks in 120 games in philly... 21 sacks in 12 games in philly.... iam not a aphilly fan or a packer fan but he did kick som ass in the superbowl.

Reggie white is the greatest Defensive lineman football has ever seen. Michael strahan only beat the record because favre gave it to his pussy ass
ilikemennow2 3 years ago
dude shut up strahan is an awesom player. anyway reggie didnt have the reccord and strahan shouldnt have it. deacon jones had 26 sacks in 14 games.... thats not fair to deacon since he doesnt get the record.and strahan is oneo f the coolest guys that played in the NFL.
1337elitegamer1337 3 years ago
dude strahan is cool, reggie was better but strahan was a cool guy.
