Anakaris is included because hes a Japan favorite, and he really is a powerful and fun characters in Vampire.
However, you're right, he didn't work in a marvel game. In fact, nearly all the new capcom characters were terrible. Bulletta was only decent because of her awesome super and molotov move.
Top characters? Storm Sentinel Magneo Cable Psylocke Magneto Doom etc? Capcom chars suck in that game.

Felicia, Jill, SonSon, and Hayato weren't bad, I enjoy using them, but Capcom did screw over their own characters. Tron Bonne is a shining example. A Heavy Kick is supposed to be that, a kick, not a worthless rock throwing button.

Demitri instead of Morrigan in Marvel vs. Capcom? Oh, nonononononono, you got that all wrong. It should be more like Demitri instead of Anakaris in Marvel vs. Capcom. Anakaris fucking SUCKS, and yet he's in MvC2.
I don't see how being in more Vs. games breaks a character...Ryu's not broke, and I don't think he ever was. Maybe in TvC, but he was always average or mediocre in any other game.
Saquatch, now you're talkin'. He should be in a Vs., just not as a Morrigan replacement. That's like taking out Chun-Li from a Vs. game. And although Q-Bee is alright, she doesn't deserve to be in a Vs. Not many people like her.
Just stating the facts bud...but I like Saquach...One big kind dude...If Akuma was in the TvC, I would go ape. Anyways...Morrigan has appeared in almost every Vs game Capcom make...and so has Ryu...(my skilled character since Street Fighter 2)...I can use anyne really...but Ryu, Ken, Sean, or Akuma I can use with easy. Anyway...:D
