  • this is such a great piece& I'm so glad that I can play this this on my piano!

  • "Merry Christmas, Harry."

    "Merry Christmas, Hermione."

    That's when I broke.

  • That's my favorite part in the whole series. It just made me fall in love to Godric's Hollow to the point that I wish that village was real.

  • This is where it happened. This is where he killed them.

  • 2.15 Hermione: harry dont get starteld but theres someone watching us.

    SO CREEPY!

  • i love

  • I can't believe both of Alexandre's scores for Deathly Hallows weren't recognized in last year's and now this year's Academy Awards. I hate you Academy! ):P Tinker Tailor Spy got nothing on this shit! Take that one out and you put in Part 2's score.

  • @AwsumessPrime14 That academy is fake. They reached the point of negleting Martin Scorcsese!

  • This music is epic. There will never be a series greater than Harry Potter.

  • It almost sounds like Carol of the Bells at the beginning

  • 5 people never found the graves of their parents

  • @iamSnip3rOne That's not funny, that's pretty depressing. TBH

  • eventhough this is different from the book by a little bit, its still very sad and heartfelt.

  • 0:56 Hermione: Hey Harry,

0:59 Hermione Looks At Harry Like Ohh Noo :o Hes Found Them :/

    Then The Beauty Continus<3

  • James Potter: He loved us.

Lily Potter: She taught how to love.

  • Merry Christmas hermione

  • What happened with the graphics? it got all misty and wet all of the sudden

  • @adiana2244 as the movies got darker, the graphics did.

  • Hermione:Merry Christmas Harry.

  • I've been listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows soundtracks all morning and I have earbuds in my ears and when I close my eyes, it brings me into the books, into the movie. It makes me cry, it makes my heart race. This is the beauty of true music.

  • Merry Christmas everyone... :)

  • This was one of my favourite scenes from all of the films. It was just how I imagined it. Probably a favourite bit from the books too.

  • My heart breaks everytime I listen to it. Very suitable for a cold, dark winter morning and evening.

  • Harry Potter. One of the best movies I've ever seen. Although I'm disappointed as it finally came to an end, it's something that hopefully will never die out. I shall pass the elixir of JK Rowling's novels on to my children I hope to have one day. I listen to these songs day and night, I cry in dismay but have exquisitely, experienced a thrill of a lifetime that people may never see again. Thumbs up, or should I say, raise your wand if you agree,,,

  • i GOT THE SHEETS to this piece :D - not the piano-solo BUT the REAL orchestral sheet

  • @Marcatolegato would you be willing to share that with me? :)

  • @malessandrac mail me

  • @Marcatolegato e-mail me here on Youtube

  • Harry Potter always in our heart. It is never over!

    NEVER!

  • I Have A Question!!!

When Hermione Casted The Oblivation spell did she ever see her parents again.?

Did They Ever Remeber Her.? I Would Love To Know!

    (:

  • @thomas4457 Yes. After the final battle, Hermione traveled to Australia with Ron to return her parents memories. But she got so emotional, she couldn't do it, so Ron did. (or at least thats what I heard)

  • @thomas4457 Hermione find her parents in Australia and she did a spell wherefore her parents her remember. That's what I have heard...

(Sorry for my very bad English. I'm Dutch. We learn it on school, but I can't speak it very well. The most I used google translanter!)

  • @Lapoi100 Thanks :DDD And It's Cool, Speaking Dutch Is Neat ;DDd

  • @thomas4457 Yes, I know! Where do you live? I'm curious

  • Listen to this track while you are reading the "Godric's Hollow" chapter. The feeling is just so magical but sad as well :(

  • When I read this scene in book im almost cryed and thats really :DD im not crying but that wass really ...

  • I know I'm not the only one that rewinds this scene over and over again.

  • Harry Potter(:

If I Could See You Right Now I Would Say These 5 Things To You!

    1. You Are the Most Gifted And Amazing People I Have Ever Seen!

    2. The Way You're Life Is, Is Just horrible I wish That i Could Have Done Something To Help!

    3. You Had Hermione & Ron! Most People Dont Have Friends Who Will 'Stay With you Till the End' Like you're Family.

    4. You're Never Let Voldemort Get You Down! Some Times Bad Things Would Happen And You Still Stayed On Top Of You're Gaame ;D

    5. Unspeakable(:

  • I always cry when i hear this

  • @Jordzbwoi Same! Tis when he's crying :{ Just want to give him a hug.

  • The moment in the novel when Harry just bursts into tears and for the first time doesn't get embarrassed or give a fuck that Hermione was next to him. Bit made me cry too </3

  • Nagini, Voldemort, Bellatrix and Narcisa disliked this...

  • LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER

    GOOD LUCK HARRY

  • @davidsonbasser they totally should have put that sign in the movie!

  • i would have liked to have seen this scene with williams' mirror or erised music

  • One of the most touching moments in Part 1...

  • 1:40

    "Merry Christmas, Hermione."

  • I'll never miss Harry Potter, as he'll never have died for me.

  • This masterly piece fill me with peace :)

  • @Bengaalkat You suck ass, Oh and BTW your spelling is bullshit

  • 4 people are either orphans or obnoxious twi-hards

  • i love this... its a bit sad though

  • That string tune at the beginning reminds me of some song from Silent Hill soundtrack... cool!

  • all i can think about when i hear this is ,Poor harry when he saw his parents grave and him n hemione huggin

  • Wow. This song must be so amazing, you can't even see the dislike bar. :3

  • 'Merry Christmas Harry' <--- I was so close to tears at that point, she was all he had, all he has ever had, and of course Ron too, even if he did storm off for a while lol.

  • Lavender didn't die in the book, she just got bitten, I'm pretty suree

  • @ravenclaw2697 yeah, in the book, Hermione saved her from Greyback before he killed her.

  • This scares the complete crap out of me everytime i hear it. I can just remember the moment i was reading this part in the book and then Hermione goes 'Harry..i think there's someone watching us' i can remember nearly crying because i was so scared because i was alone in a room and it was all dark and spooky outside

  • @MissSarah1357 Haha, the exact same thing happened to me. I think at that part I shut the book for the night cause I got scared lol

  • @rockinrobin337 Haha i just ran up to my room and closed the curtains and put on a lamp lol I really couldn't put the book down :L

  • For me when i hear this song i think of snape, and siruis black <3 snape was a good man and so was siruis they were just so very misunderstood.

  • doesnt the music just make you cry? agree

  • @TheCookiemonster1313 I wish there was a real Godric's Hollow

  • Can someone explain to me what Hermione found in the closet? I was kind of confused, and I can't remember what happened in the book. Thanks! :)

  • @dazzleme0001

I think Hermione saw Bathilda's dead body, or maybe her insides? (Gross) And Nagini is using her outsides? Lol, use your imagination.

In the book Hermione is just downstairs, no closet with flies. Nagini was inside Bathilda's body and they learned when her body was found a few months later that her body showed "unmistakeable signs of injuries inflicted by Dark Magic." So her full body was upstairs when she was found I guess.

  • from 0:18 - 0:26 did eny of you think you heard " God-rics-hall-ow

  • @whointhetardis i was just thinking that!!!!!!!!!!

  • This theme makes me think of a darker version of the gerudo desert theme from legend of zelda: twilight princess. The graveyard scene was one of my favorite scenes in the movie, it was dark, sad, and sweet all at the same time

  • 1:03-2:01 :'(

  • Im glad i went to youtube instead of Going to the mall, Just came to see tht the Last Premiere Im the whole world is gone now, Thank You Youtube.

  • @sophthebest1

It is called "Harry and Hermione" and it's on the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Soundtrack.

  • impress

  • I just love so much how as the story got darker, so did the music. Both started out lively, happy, and magical, and now it's dark, deep, and incredibly sad. Harry Potter affects my emotions like no other stor ever has, not even classics like Star Wars. If there's one franchise I'm unashamed to cry about in public, it's Harry Potter. I'm devastated it's ending. I agree with st0nec0ld100 - LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER!

  • F*** u Nagini

  • You know...I can't even watch this scene anymore. Never could. Too many memories.

  • "Harry, be safe. Be strong." -The last words Lily said to Harry. From the moment he stepped into Hogwarts, to the final battle for the Wizarding World, Harry may not have been safe, but he was truly strong and brave. Even if James and Lily, Cedric, Sirius, Dumbledore, Mad-Eye, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, and Lupin and Tonks died, he never gave up. In spite of all the losses of his loved ones, he continued the fight to save Hogwarts. If there's one thing that makes Harry famous, it's his courage.

  • @st0nec0ld100 Can't forget Colin Creevey :? people who truly love him. But not just him, the prosperity of their kind.

  • @SandiiMare oh right. But in the movie they also show one of the Patil twins dying, along with Lavender and Nigel.

  • @st0nec0ld100 i thought Lavenders death was sad because y'know, since Half-Blood prince, she's seemed a very innocent character, and being killed by being eaten by Greyback...

  • @KennyFilmsOfficial yeah, it doesn't seem like the thing that would happen to a person like her

  • I expect to see the names of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson in stars at Hollywood after the films come to a close.

  • When I hear this song, I also think of all the books I've read and how they changed my life forever. I can just picture the first time I read the first book and saw it on the screen. Even though I know the series is coming to an end, I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience the joy of Harry Potter, and I know it will never die out until the end of time. Thank you, J.K. Rowling, for invisioning and creating one of the best novel series ever written. LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER!

  • @st0nec0ld100 Agreed. Almost everything about it is genius. People should travel by train more if this is the product of it...

I just absolutely love how she managed to fit all the pieces together and actually built a reason that Harry survived, unless much other stories her hero is actually pretty ordinary but experiences extraorinary things. Part of the magic I guess is growing with the books...

I could rumbble on for ages about this...

  • @Fangornmmc The first book came out a year before I was born, and I can still remember my mom reading it to me. I was three when the first movie came out and we all went to see the midnight premiere. Ever since, I have always loved the legacy it has left on us.

  • My greatest wish was that they would play out the entire scene of Lily and James' death. That was my favourite part in the entire book, reading how that happened.

  • @Rexter2k9 I think they will in part 2. The second trailer for it shows Lily talking to Harry.

  • @st0nec0ld100 You're putting Halo on the same level as Harry Potter? Oh dear god. Halo is immeasurably unoriginal, alien invasion oh my god. BORING. I'm a firm believer that games can be as cinematic as films if done correctly, Halo is not one of those games. Harry Potter, when general immersion, character connections and enjoyment is concerned, blows Halo out of the water. It's disrespectful to listen to this incredible piece out of context.

  • @Infeecctteedd hey its my opinion

  • This song will play when J.K. Rowling, the greatest writer of our time, goes to heaven.

  • @st0nec0ld100 i was raping the thumbs up butten wen i read your comment

  • Such amazing clever and emotional music. Genius.

  • When I hear this song makes me want to mourn. I put myself in the shoes of Harry ... R.I.P

  • This music was so beautiful, it was worth staying for the entire credits!

  • This is so beautiful, Harry is a son to be proud of, he is brave, nice and loving, loved his parents even though he never knew them. This a a kind of person I'm looking for. Someone like him. Harry Potter is my life

  • wow this is so beautifully made

  • im gonna read the books again... but im going to read them while listening to all the harry potter soundtracks in order. =]

  • @evrdrandosity That's exactly what I do! I play the soundtrack for the book I'm reading on repeat. :D

  • when ever i hear this song, i can't help but think of everyone who dies throughout the entire Harry Potter series, whether we have yet seen their death scene or not, and i have to admit, I can feel tears coming to my eyes

  • @KennyFilmsOfficial me too. whenever this song comes on, i think of harry's parents, sirius, dumbledore, tonks and lupin, snape, mad-eye, hedwig, dobby, fred, cedric, and everyone who gave their lives defending harry and the world of magic from voldemort and the death eaters R.I.P all of them. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.

  • Man... I cried the second I saw Harry's parents graves. I know how it feels to lose someone so close. No words can describe the pain, but this music definitely did. RIP.

  • Are they using Violin in this piece?

Still i can't understand how it's possible to make a soo beautifull Score like this , Beside Rose's Theme From Titanic , Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata mvt.1 and Johann Sebastian Bach 's Air Suite . 3 on G String and Schindler's list Soundtrack this is the most beautifull Score of all time !

  • @HermanBerntzen it's a cello for sure

  • @natesquared You are probaly right !

  • @HermanBerntzen I almost thought viola, but it's too deep of a sound for viola. Although the range is correct, the tamber is so much different.

  • I just played snake with the loading circle... rip james and lily

  • saddest part from all the movies. no one really thinks about the fact that harry is an ORPHAN. if he didnt meet ron and hermione he wouldnt have had anyone. this really shows that even if u do not know ur family for long there will still be a connection & a longing to see that person. harry had more on his plate than most

  • R.I.P. James and Lily...

    1:05-1:50 - Wow.

"The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death."

  • at the beginning of the song in the movie you can tell that Harry is going to find his parents grave by the way it sounds. This is kind of reflecting on the first movie cause it kind of shows what happened in Harry's past and it shows why he's here now.

  • i can partially play this on the piano

  • this one song is probably the saddest in the movie. I was on the verge of tears when I saw the grave of harry's parents.

    R.I.P James and Lily Potter

  • this is the most touching one as compared to the rest, in my opinion...

  • Hey don't knock the snake, it is awesome.

  • "Good luck, Harry!"

  • stop making me crying, A. Desplat! You're a genius!

  • I cried when i read this in the book. I loved how people had written on the sign of the house. How they have a statue of James & Lilly, baby Harry. It just shows Harry that people love him, want him to be alright. That even though he had not known his parents, other people did, and those other people cared. <3 Live on forever Harry.. Bless you Lilly & James <3

  • Such a beautiful score. It's so emotional. I love it.

  • Requieska in pace Snape! :( We will miss your amazing talent :(

  • Voldy, Lucius, Bellatrix and Snape where the 4 dislikers.

  • @Wishfulldreamsofhope

snape is not the bad guy if u think he is.

hes the hero of the whole series

  • @acrobatsutr Yes i know, i have read the books :D But he never liked Harrys parents and this soundtrack was playing while Harry visited his parents grave.

  • @acrobatsutr Oh, sorry. I wrote wrong. Snape doesnt like Harrys father, that was what i meant xD

  • reminds me so much of the death of lily and james.... so unfair and sad

  • wow, if this music plays when harry sees his parents grave, imagine how emotional the soundtrack'll be when harry sees his parents in part 2

  • Out of the whole soundtrack, this is my favorite; I just want it to be endless (like the books!) All good things...

  • Wow Alexandre Desplat really pulled out the stops and has made an excellent soundtrack!! I love it! so beautiful and emotional, fits the scene perfectly, much better than Nicholas Hooper's scores for the films

  • I was criying during all the scene, not just because of the scene, It's the end of years of books, films...

  • This song really could get no better. I've always enjoyed Harry Potter, I could relate to him in a way, growing up with my aunt and uncle after my parents REALLY did die in a car crash. The books always seemed to help me, but Alexander really pulls through with the music and makes it that much greater.

  • @The1010179

have you ever seen the movie? read the book? you would know what Im talking about if you have done both those things. :D

  • this is the most emotional score in the entire hp7prt1 good job to alexandre desplat it makes me feel the emotion every single time!

  • This "Merry Christmas" was just so... touching, moving, it can't be described ...

    Harry's heart is pure gold

  • This song breaks my heart ♥

Without a doubt the most beautiful song in the film.

  • Now, see if they had killed Bathilda during this scene, that would have been one less horcrux to destroy.... if only, if only. hahahah

  • Thumbs up if this made you cry, and then you just raped the replay button and cried some more. :'( i did

  • james and lilly potter, you will be in our hearts forever...

  • I love the music in all of the films, but Desplat outdid himself.

  • this scene was definately the saddest in all of the movies, we finally actually get to see wha is left of harry's parents... :'( when i saw it i was like "why?" 8'(

  • Pure, great. So emotional, but it still has the original 'Harry Potter feeling'.

and thanks to use the cello, for such an beautiful music.

  • Bathilda isn't the bitch... Nagini is!

  • @gemofgems Actually, is a snake XP Just kidding n_n

  • @gemofgems: Bellatrix actually. XD

  • this is so sad :'( I cried from start to finish of the film in the cinema :'(

  • @twilightlautnerlover I did too... I couldn't velieve it was going to end soon. i was crying.... really bad... really hurtful.... and Dumbledore wasn't even there to experience it....

  • :''((

  • makes me wanna cry and there's this ache in my chest :'(

    alexandre desplat is genius.<3

  • Harry and Hermione are so good together.

  • @TheCtcns

    False...

  • @TheCtcns no.

  • First Deathly Hallows, then The King's Speech....Mr. Desplat really knows how to write truly heartfelt and emotional music...I can't wait to see what he does for Deathly Hallows Part 2.

  • Beautiful

  • R.I.P James and Lily Potter

    ;(

  • the bells are like little snowflakes

  • just thinking about the statue (book), the grave, and all the notes written my Harry's many supporters (also book) makes me want to cry.

  • i cried at this part in the book. my dad cried at this part in the movie.

  • i can hear the gentle falling snowflakes from the strings...

  • god damn voldemort...

  • @HPLOVEGOOD I actually liked that aspect specifically. That scene isn't about what's to happen next. It's about that heartbreaking moment where Harry sees his parents graves, Harry seeing what should have been his "home", seeing the loss more real than ever. You have to get that sense from the book across that time stands still at that moment, that he wishes for a moment he were "sleeping under the snow" with them. This is achieved by this piece.

  • Utterly beautiful strings and piano. I have one criticism this put me in a sense that nothing bad was going to happen even with the notorious high pitched strings from the middle to the end. Very odd key to behold in reality

  • i cried every single time i read this scene in the book! the statue for the potters and the messages from 'fans' gave me goosbumps and tears so i couldn't read anymore! :') Okay, maybe this sounds weird, but i always feel proud because i know the real story...get what i mean? it's like i knew james and lily personally, that counts for every one it he books but still...and it's a great feeling ! proud te be a little part in the harry potter generation! thanks JK Rowling!

  • @SaarzNL i totally agree! the first time i read DH my i got to this scene and my sister who was in the other room could hear me crying and she texted me saying "Godric's Hallow?" i have known Harry Potter for as long as i could remember. i too am proud to be part of the Harry Potter generation. people can dis Harry Potter all they want around me. i won't change. i am a proud Harry Potter fan and im going to make sure my kids grow up with these books and movies like me and my siblings did.
