I kept thinking, God, those two guys from Ed Sullivan who sang two different songs at the same time! I thought I hallucinated them.
I remember Johnny Pavarotti from the Godfather parody, and how he held the high C for about twenty-four bars like the character in the Bugs Bunny cartoon.
Sandler and Young impression funny, but more hilarious when originally aired when irony was not an everyday thing. Eugene and Marty really captured the essence of those guys. Very strange, but great. You have to be old enough to appreciate this.
Kinda difficult to have William B. when he was playing Luciano.
Maudlin: ''Why don't you just leave?'' Young; ''We get that all the time.'' Brilliant.
I'm old enough to have seen the real Sandler and Young on the Sullivan show numerous times. They were incredibly bland and boring and I never understood why Ed booked them. Maybe they appealed to old folks. Ed tried to please everyone.
Oh, god! How creepy those guys were!! I remember them, but not fondly. I miss SCTV so much! SNL couldn't touch them on its best day. John Candy, I especially miss you. RIP - you left us too soon. May I say something, Sammy? I love you, man!
@filmnoir47 Agree 10,000%!! SCTV was silly fun for intelligent people, as opposed to SNL which is just plain silly and never has been consistently funny. I LOVED the Sammy Maudlin show and this skit is beyond hilarious!!
And yes...R.I.P. John Candy (AKA William B. , Johnny LaRue and other greats!!)

Absolutely brilliant! SCTV ran rings around SNL and anything else that dared cross it's path. One of the greatest acting troops ever!

Was there any character John Candy couldn't play? He could make anyone, and I mean ANYONE smile.
