Awesome to see Washington Square in 1981. I was there a few weeks ago, August 2010 but in 81 when it was an entirely different place to what it became in 1985 onwards, when a crack problem and political pressures from nearby residents led to a huge police presence and a stop to amplified music of all types that was part of the fabric of the place. No more of the party scene now that's just hinted at here with the roller skaters and boom boxes briefly shown.

I was in Paris in 1983 and invited to a concert at the Palace. I went. It was coati mundi. BEST SHOW EVER. I went back the next night for his second performance. Luckily I bought his album as it was tough to find here. Sey Hey is the jimmy jam! Come out and perform again man! The world needs your music!!!

Classic stuff! Was a huge fan in the 80's. Saw KC and c's a couple of times in Bristol UK. How they were ever popular in cold, rainy depressed England just after the punk explosion is still beyond me! KC is back out on the road over here but without Mr Mundi, original coconuts, Ms Coleman et al it's just not the same. Much respect to Coati Mundi and all involved. Still great music and England's still cold, rainy and depressed!
