  • brilliant i luv john and yoko!! SO YOKO HATERS BACK OFF!

  • johns voice is so sweet!! and yoko sounds so good with john... her voice is pretty to!

  • Oh yeaaah! St. Patrick`s forever & ever, here, there @ everywhere))))

  • I replied to Iman but smth`s rong with my computer. I still love John & (especially) Jeorge Harrison. But tell me people why Yoko continues disturbing McCartney after His forgiving her? By the way, Nancy McCartney is beautiful & pregnant... & Sir Paul does everything for Nancy & their baby. Yoko, give Japan back to Japanese!!! Let McCartney give Ireland Back to The Irish!!!

  • yoko could sing that is true but by no means was she a musician or artist, she didn't even like rock 'n' roll. She has no real feelings for music.

  • Fuck the Brits. Kill them where they stand. But hey, what difference do they make anymore, if Argentina decides to take back the Falklands, the English cunts won't be able to fight back without America's help. Fucking truly pathetic.

  • I miss him. Thanks to anyone remembering John.

  • God bless him, AN AWESOME MAN.

  • Yoko has a wonderful voice

  • He had such a beautiful voice....

    Shocks me still.....

    Like wow.....

  • One of the greatest performers that will not be forgotten

  • I think this is one of his best songs, yeah, i'm irish...

  • great song from a good (and under-rated) album.

  • I love them!!..

    Mlev..*

  • I think this is one of his worst songs. His bit is cheesy and shit and then Yoko is, well, God-awful. I'm not against the sentiment, I just think it's been expressed much much better elsewhere (Ronnie Drew singing Skibbereen, for example).

The lyrics are shite too. 'the world would be one big blarney stone'. Fucking hell.

  • my gosh yoko has a bad voice what did he see in her.

  • @cebryan333

I think she does not have the best voice, but now it's not so bad really

  • this video is from The Mike Douglas show from 5th & Market Sts in Philadelphia Pa. Lennon also jammed with Chuck Berry on the same week.

  • @stephhe

John Lennon sung about stuff for people to follow, He often put lyrics into his songs telling people NOT TO DO WHAT HE HAD DONE. He sung so that stronger and wiser people could do things right while he, himself, had done greedy, selfish, no good things. He sang for a brighter future, not about "hey guys lets all throw away our posessions and greed and hatred-except for me of course".

  • she cant sing

  • this is lennon's worst song. can't stand it. schmaltzy-faltzy.

  • @bassbasstwotwo lol irish history is viciously brutal...no wonder they like a good fight

  • Desperate for justice and history, we should say. Why defend the English when history tells us so much?

  • oh what the fuck ever, Dont Worry Kyoko rules

  • Asian women= white men's Kryptonite.

  • Simplistic view of the situation and more to do with lennon and yokos desparate need for attention....while secretly amassing a billion dollar property portfolio.......and FIVE apartments in the Dakota Building....."Imagine no possessions..."

  • I've always admired and like Lennon, that being said, his choice of a spouse is none of my business. I would however beg the question as to what some Japanese American whore knows about the plight of the Irish.

  • @432F01

but it's ok for white men from england to sing the blues?

  • shite

  • Perfect.

  • she has a good voice... but it just doesnt go well with johns I don't think :-S

  • why couldnt that bullet have hit that talentless skank instead of him????

  • this makes me want to cry... beautiful... breaks my heart...

  • THE REAL LYRICS ARE 'as the bastards commit genocide' John changed it to 'As the bummers commit genocide'...you couldn't say bastards on t.v. back in 1972

  • Happy St. Patrick's everyone

  • "In the 'Pool" in the lyrics should read "In Liverpool"

  • @amandanuchols The recorded one was 'In the Pool', he changed it for the live one

  • LEGEND

  • te he i am isrsh i and understand the feeling

  • happy birthday Yoko

  • Money to Civil Defence or whatever it is..we know what it was John, for God's sake man !!

  • are the english still in northern ireland today?

  • @gibsnbyrd119 There's very few English born people living in Northern Ireland or Rep.Ireland. On the other hand there's lots of Irish born people living in England. Why does it matter? People should be free to live wherever they want. Politcally, Northern Ireland is still part of the United Kingdom if that's what you actually mean. That wont change until the majority of the people in Northern Ireland want it to, and vote for it to change through a peaceful democratic process.

  • See Tarn it's not the English that's the problem, it's the majority of the people actually living in Northern Ireland, who regard themselves as British, not Irish. A United Ireland cannot and will not happen until they consent to it. And neither should it. I actually, like you support a United Ireland, but not forced on N.I againt the democratic will of the population. Wont work. Democracy and Peace go hand in hand. That's all thats important.

  • @Tarn1968 "then there should be a full Irish reunification" What against the democratic will of the majority of people who live there? Do Americans not believe in Democracy then? You want millions of people to be forced against there will to be ruled by what they regard as a foreign power? If what your suggesting happened ther'd be a return to violence in a shot. Armed insurrection, and many many civilians dying. It's clear you don't have a clue about Ireland's situation or troubled history.

  • I mean consider this 75-80% of English people regularly when questioned support a United Ireland. There's no English occupation of anywhere in Ireland.

  • @Tarn1968 That's not in dispute. But you accept nobody is 'occupying' Northern Ireland? Certainly not the English, , unlike the counties of Ireland in the republic, the counties of Northern Ireland, are still in a 'Union' with England, Scotland and Wales, because that's the democratic majority will of the people who live there. I'm not condoning the unfair they have behaved to the minority. One day that may change and the people there will join the republic of Ireland.

  • @Tarn1968 England has never 'occupied' Ireland. The 'English' Kings fought fuedel wars there between 1170-1500, but these were French Norman Kings in reality, they had disposed 90% of the English people off their lands, more than they ever did in ireland. Post 1500, Ireland was in effect colonised, by the United Kingdom of England, Scotland and Wales, under the Scottish James VI, the Englsuh Cromwell, and Dutch William III. 75% of the Ulster planters were Scottish, not English.

  • When i die i wish i could see John and say thanks for his music

  • When I die, I will look for John in heaven and thank him for his songs.

  • @Tarn1968 Because we like it there

  • people always go on about freddie mercury's, jimmy page's, kurt cobain's voices..but john lennon's was one of a kind.. what a voice! :)

  • this is my favorite version :)

  • A land full of beauty and wonder

Was raped by the British brigands! Goddamn! Goddamn!

  • *sings along to chorus* :D

  • The irish have had a horrible history of poverty and troubles but they would never in a million years wish to be English. Other than that love the song.

  • Yoko is great in this song actually, people shut up. Two lovers singing together, MUSIC TO MY EFFING EARS!

  • "civil defense or what ever its called." <3 John Lennon

  • I always loved this song, and the whole "Sometime in NYC" album. Lennon told it like it is!

  • Am an Irish person but i wish i was English John. Thanks for the writing and recording of this song

  • @TheMrwilliams94 You really dont understand this song :/

  • what a beautiful song. SO TRUE. thanks john and yoko!!!!!

  • If ya had the luck of the Irish...

Ya gotta leave Ireland, like many great people did, and became.

  • From 0:54 on it seems that John is thinking about singing the words "Goddamn! Goddamn!" like he used to do in the recorded version, after the line: "was raped by the British brigands.". But then, an expression on his face follows, that seems to say: "No, Dude. Don´t sing it today!" :D

    Great artist! Love that guy.:)

Sorry for posting twice - I´m new here!

  • brilliant just pure brilliance

  • Yoko's voice is amazing! This song is great :D

  • Great song.Bless you,John.

  • great song

  • the shapes in the background kind of piss me off...

  • Yoko ruins this song!

  • @calcium4lyf kida . . . yeah

  • was this ever on an album or a single i have to find it

  • @beatlesforever997 This is on the Sometime in New York City album

  • @sky0725 right thanks alot :)

  • i wish john was still around making amazing music or just breathing..R.I.P and all the love. yokos voice is beautiful also. love it.

  • A really good song, but at that time, very controversial. I can safely say it wasn't number 1 in the Shankill Road charts !!!! I guess in the Falls Road, they must have played the song non stop !!!!

  • Do Irish people have Lucky Charms for breakfast?

John Lennon the violent Liverpool Irish man. Let he's born in England.

  • @TheTrollAccount 90% of all of liverpool are desended from the irish and john lennon paul mccartney george harrison and ringo starr are all desended from the irish

  • yoko*

  • @albiJalbi

    The luck of the Japanese.

  • joko ono can't sing good. :( my ears

  • what a dreadful dirge

  • It is a great song, I gave you an up, by mistake

  • the irish government and hicks who tromp around the orieachtas since the theater of freedom fighting began have fucked ireland right up the ass and raped its mother so im inclined to say six of one and half a dozen of the other.

  • I do agree also to a certain extent. The British were a very intelligent group so it is not like they ever really let a country go, just made it look that way.

I read some of your comments earlier, I am all up for the truth too, but a nice comment every so often might help you feel better.

    Bye

  • Lol

    I love ranting alright.

I do all my nice talk on the phone : )

  • Same as man, Rant rant rant, Have you ever watched Adam Curtis BBC documentaries. He is cool. Take care now and hope you are well

  • Thanks ,

    Will do : )

  • Yoko has a great voice. I don't know what you people are talking about.

  • @fafnir242 I guess it's just the accent that throws some people off. idk... but yes, she does

  • @fafnir242 There's emotion behind her voice. I'd rather listen to that than the emotionally flat but key-hitting George Michael or Celene Dion.

  • @fafnir242 Yeah I've always felt that Yoko sounded great not only on this song...but on the entire Sometime In New York City album.

  • @fafnir242 she IS HORRIBLE!!!!

  • Beautiful piece. I wish John was still alive. I miss him.

  • often found it bit odd.the 2 former beatles*mc cartney and lennon* the pride of the british empire singing about revolution in ireland, the brits must felt insulted?

  • its not about yokos voice you idiot its about the message....they were legends never to be forgotten.

  • I knew McCartney wrote Give Ireland Back to the Irish, but I didn't know that Lennon also wrote songs in defense of the Irish. 5 stars and favorite.

  • nice one john,what a true liverpool/irishman you were,Tiocfaidh ar la!

  • the luck of the fuck...with Yoko Ono!

    she is incredible

  • John Lennon = PROVO SUPPORTER!!!

    Gwan john!

  • :) i love john.

  • A LENGEND

  • great to hear john giving respect to the irish. great song

  • Kewlboy, her voice is just fine, it's not perfect, it's not great when she does those primal screams things, but on songs like, Attica State, and John Sinclair, she harmonizes nicely. Lighten up boy, and don't jump on the bandwagon against the poor woman. Many of modern female pop singers have the most annoying styles - long high pitch notes, tediously hung to for what seems hours - how boring and irritating.

  • All I can say is Yoko was to beautiful and her voice was heartwarming. John the same. Two beautiful people god made.

  • This is a nice song. Yoko's voice is sweet - John's is the usual unique, and amazing. But I have to respond to the inane and childish comment below from RogerioAndre, who stupidly said, "are you kidding, right? She's tooooo ugly and has a horrible voice."

Get a life! She's a nice looking woman, with a gentle voice. Your comments is like many before, boring, tired and lame. Oh yes, did I mention Inane!

  • are you legally deaf? Yoko cant sing at all she cant control her voice at all she keeps it extremely high and hits notes much higher then they should. Love isnt only blind its also deaf.

  • these people are a little hard of hearing abviously she ruined the while song every song* they should of killed her

  • john's voice is amazing

    unlike yokos

    no offense ono

  • This is very nice song! Yoko sings beautifully here John is great as always. Very touching for Irishman like my self.

  • Ira

  • well yoko sings very good this song but her accent sometimes ruins her songs although that was brilliant why john lennon why did you have to go...

  • ok, now why cant yoko do this on all her music! after all these horrific noises i think i like this one the most.

  • @justlittmewill. God, you don't understand that woman. She's an artiest, and those noises you call "Horrifice noises" Are Japanese wails use in the Japanese Theatre.

  • Yoko has a beautiful voice and she is beautiful and john made a great choice we miss u john :(

  • are you kidding, right? She's tooooo ugly and has a horrible voice.

  • Wow..

  • I like Yoko's solo--she adds something very nice to this. Wow!

I won't take the luck of the Irish--I'll settle for a little of the whiskey, though.

  • Wonderful performance! R.I.P. John Lennon, you are missed by so many.

  • R I P John you are missed a lot.

  • Thanks for sending me this, Beatlehop!! This is awesome----miss you John !!

  • Very cool. I love John's voice! Yoko's lyrics are very good.
