you cant use galvanized steel in a smoker! it puts off toxic gasses. make a UDS. they are cheap and easy. never put anything galvanized in a smoker!!!!

by cure do you mean burning off the zink coating? I am thinking about making the same kind of set up shown here. But I got a question. If you burn or "cure" the trashcan once is it good to go forever?
