Linda música, para mim marcou minha viagem da Africa. quando chegava até la escutei diversas vezes ainda no avião, no retorno também! Marcou no meu coração e mente!
Most of the song is in Swahili and Shona. Twende means "Let's go" in Swahili. Shona is a Bantu language spoken in Zimbabwe. There is one line of Ndebele/Zulu - "Nkosi sikelela.." which means "God bless..." It's a reference to a song, "Nkosi sikelela Africa (Ndebele in Zim, Zulu in South Africa) or "Ishe Komborera Africa' in Shona that is sung in Zimbabwe and South Africa (used to be Zimbabwe's national anthem). Proudly Zimbabwean living in Kenya!
@mtafiti I dont think this is Shona. It may not be Zulu but my bets are it must be one of the Nguni languages spoken in Southern Africa. There is a line "Nkosi Sikeleli Afrika" which we all know exists in the SA anthem (Xhosa). Considering that Oliver Mtukunzi is a Zim, the only major Nguni language spoken there is isiNdebele, and therefore my guess is that its isiNdebele, not Shona, which is not a Nguni language.
the song is so good. I wish everybody listens to it
