  • Beautiful song, makes me much more looking forward to my trip to Kenya next week.

    greetings to Africa from Germany

  • Most of the song is in Swahili and Shona. Twende means "Let's go" in Swahili. Shona is a Bantu language spoken in Zimbabwe. There is one line of Ndebele/Zulu - "Nkosi sikelela.." which means "God bless..." It's a reference to a song, "Nkosi sikelela Africa (Ndebele in Zim, Zulu in South Africa) or "Ishe Komborera Africa' in Shona that is sung in Zimbabwe and South Africa (used to be Zimbabwe's national anthem). Proudly Zimbabwean living in Kenya!

  • In this track Oliver Mttukudzi sings in SHONA not Zulu

  • @Chihinga yah, its Shona.

  • @mtafiti I dont think this is Shona. It may not be Zulu but my bets are it must be one of the Nguni languages spoken in Southern Africa. There is a line "Nkosi Sikeleli Afrika" which we all know exists in the SA anthem (Xhosa). Considering that Oliver Mtukunzi is a Zim, the only major Nguni language spoken there is isiNdebele, and therefore my guess is that its isiNdebele, not Shona, which is not a Nguni language.

  • @muukiomuingi twende twende is Tonga language meaning ..let us go..Tongas are found on both sides of zambia n zimbabwe border..the song is mixture

  • @muukiomuingi it is shona! trust me

  • @mtafiti Ok, I take that back. You might be correct.

  • got to love this song........................

  • gOTTA LoVe KeNyA

  • gotta love kenya:)
